  • I hate Core i7 users! So fucking brat!

  • oh no you didnt mention the ZIP (zero insertion force) for the CPU :(

  • It Goes in 1 way and COME OUT ANOTHER :)

  • you are suppose to touch the case at all times or have a grounding wristband to keep yourself grounded. If you feel a shock that is more than enough to fry your part. I don't remember but it's something like 5-10x the amount needed to fry the part. I learned this the hard way working on my computer. I didn't feel a shock and still fried my motherboard.

  • @qskatermaniac mm i once went to ground myself by leaving the psu plugged to the socket but turn off the switch on the psu and felt like something dripping from me, is that earthing urself?

  • @qskatermaniac you sure its not the goddamn io plate fucking around?

i had a p5kpl that appeared to be dead until I tried it without that piece of junk io shield.

  • you should take apart your Spedo, rig, and redo a "how to build a computer" tutorial with that system. cool video man keep up the god work

  • Thx man,

Taking apart my Spedo would be long (and i just install my WaterCooling so i want to enjoy it for a while, maybe later), and basically all the builds are the same, so i don't really see why i should do that

  • Too hard to follow.. First PSU, then.. check if it grounds to avoid frying the mobo... then.. what if you feel a ground? what would do? then.. It says.. don't touch the bottom of the CPU... how would you know the bottom of it? + too much parts with only a few minutes on it. why don't you just combine all of them?

  • 1. If you feel a static shock on the case, everything should be ok

    2. If you feel a static shock on any hardware, then you better pray that you didn't fry it

    3. The bottom of the CPU is the part that is covered by the plastic cap

  • What if I don't feel a static shock on the case... would that be a problem?

  • nope, it only means that you weren't electrically charged. Most of the time that is the case, but you can never be too careful. BTW it is possible to buy a wrist strap that grounds you (if you are not confident in the touching the case technique)

  • oh.... so I just touch the case to ground myself? hmm that's easy.. Do I have to put the PSU first before doing the case tech or it doesn't matter?

  • 1. exactly. being grounded is a state where your + charges and - charges are equal. The earth has an infinite amount of +&- charges so when you when you touch the case that touches the PSU that is plugged in the wall outlet (3rd pin of a power plug touches the hearth aka grounded) your body will take the charge that is missing, thus the static shock

    2. if by "case tech" you mean installing the shieldplate and standoffs, then ya But before installing any hardware it is recommended to be grounded

  • The pc is dead then.

  • @asuhurley In my experience if the motherboard isn't doa it's hard to kill it and I have never had a problem with static... usually I just touch something metal grounded or not before I go about my business.

I have bent mobos and broken resistors off them and they were still working.

  • what model is the motherboard ? thanks

  • That is a ASUS P6T deluxe v2 (LGA 1366)
