@Roadsideimports I wasn't being sensitive but I had a question I didn't make a vague statement and I live in south texas I have two uncles that are cops and from what they tell me its illegal to carry but not to own. Also try being more courteous when dealing with people that watch your videos.
@GunShotWound308 NO YOU DO THAT YOURSELF. They are legal in TX to own, they are legal to carry in TX if you are Law Enforcement, Military, or have one arm. If you already knew the answer then why ask a question? That is stupid, clarifying the matter is another thing and making assumptions they are illegal in general falls to the peanut gallery over and over.
@GunShotWound308 Don't be so sensitive, if you wish to be like that then you should shop for dresses. Laws apply to where you are and you have not disclosed your location, so NO THEY ARE NOT ILLEGAL THEY ARE RESTRICTED IN SOME PLACES.
@GunShotWound308 Can't carry it, it all depends on where you are talking about. There are many states where you can carry some concealed some not concealed. It all depends don't make a vague general statement to things because they are not illegal, laws apply to where you are.
@acuaricon If it does not have the eyelet hole in the blade then you can clock it to whatever you want, then you can use whatever. This is the Top Lock II or 1 model? 1 use 1/2 and II uses 3/8
hi, im from australia & was wondering is it possible to send me all the parts for a balisong so i can put it together over here? as butterfly knives are illegal here.
No, they are intended for this use otherwise they would not be drilled out and milled with inlets for springs. They might argue that to protect their legal asshole but in realistic terms they wouldn't do what they do for no reason now would they?
You can modify any push button lock knife into an automatic, your choice of wording isn't quite correct because a switchblade has already been converted. Push button locks are converted by coil springs and linerlocks are converted by leaf springs typically that is.
Nice vid! Will this conversion work on the Boker Reality based knives? They're button locks as well, but you previously said only the Kalashnicov and the Magnum.
Apologies if I'm missing something, but it looks as though your video already started out with an automatic. The button was already present. What about models where the button, or the hole for the button, isn't there? I'm assuming drilling would be involved? Again, if missing something, sorry.
Yes, you are missing everything thing and seem not to pay any attention whatsoever. These are standard push button models. Push button lock models are completely legal, it just so happens that Boker has them channeled and ready for spring conversion.
101 Proof damn that is some potent shit to drink. I like my whiskey but that is like paint thinner to the core. The conversion would be barfing your brains out. If gas ever becomes to expensive and Turkey is cheaper you can run the engine off of it just fine. So alternative fuels are possible.
Coil springs are only for button lock models. Leaf springs are for dual action conversions that have thumbstuds and a hidden release or trigger device.
I told you if it is a thumb stud liner lock, which that is what it is, you can modify it with a scale device like a Vallotton conversion or you can use a button release system with a coil conversion and will need the arbor and cutter and a carbide for the blade eyelet, then the spring and the button plunger and button spring on modify the blade to accept it all. If you want a button dual action you use a leaf spring. Its complicated and the knife isn't worth the time unless you love it.
I have a question can you do that to any boker knife because I just got the: Boker Magnum Carbon Fiber Handle Folding Pocket Knife
and I would like it if I could turn that into a switch blade I dont know if you have ever heard of that knife but if you could please tell me that would be nice thanks.
Spring or torsion bar. Modifications can be done but I don't have a clue what model you have so can't tell you what the options are. Is is a linerlock, is it a lockback, does it have thumbstuds, is it a push button lock. What is it? Model number and a photo would help and sending things via email makes the most sense.
well it has a thumb stud and it is a lock blade but I dont know the model number but if you go on ebay and type in carbon fiber knife it will come up.
Thumb stud linerlock. You can do a dual action conversion with a leaf spring opening. It is alot of modification and machining parts specific to that model. Better go get your Dremel tool out.
A rule of thumb is to measure the center of the pivot to the spring tip hole in the blade and double it for the correct coil diameter, in inches. I sell the Cutter Bit and Arbor as well which is sometimes needed like with the Smith & Wesson models.
Yes, the spring sizes vary on the Magnum and Kalashnikov models they are large versions, same as the Top Lock and Speedlock. The small spring is for the Mini-Magnums and Top Lock 2 models.
Curious...Does the safety stop on the spine of the knife also keep the knife from unlocking and closing shut? I know that it keeps the knife from opening accidentally should the button be pushed.
It is a button lock the button prevents it from closing when it is opened so it locks it into place that is why it is called a button lock. A liner lock is on the side of the knife and a lockback is at the back of the knife.
Button lock models are legal but once you convert them into fully automatic switchblades then they are illegal to carry unless you are military, law enforcement, or have one arm.
This is a basic conversion for all Boker Models and Smith & Wesson Extreem Ops, the only hard part is getting the trigger button back in place but once you assemble one, you'll be a pro at it, assembly takes less than 5 minutes.
That is certain, OTF version are very difficult to assemble. Side Opening Button Lock Conversion are the easiest to do they take 5 minutes and you really can't mess anything up.

does a Smith & Wesson also have the spots to put the spring and what size, diameter, and length is the spring?
flightofmusic 2 years ago
Yes but you have to drill it down to accept the spring. You can use 7/16 or 1/2 springs both will work.
Roadsideimports 2 years ago
can youu do this with a gerber fast draw?

would this work on a boker magnum mission ll knife?
it has thumb studs and a leaf spring i think. would it just be a spring assisted? what kind of spring would i need?
Trexfloe 3 years ago
Coil springs are only for button lock models. Leaf springs are for dual action conversions that have thumbstuds and a hidden release or trigger device.
Roadsideimports 3 years ago
is there anything i could do to make it spring assisted or with a trigger hidden device? Or will it only stay as a thumb flick?
Trexfloe 3 years ago
I told you if it is a thumb stud liner lock, which that is what it is, you can modify it with a scale device like a Vallotton conversion or you can use a button release system with a coil conversion and will need the arbor and cutter and a carbide for the blade eyelet, then the spring and the button plunger and button spring on modify the blade to accept it all. does this work with all smith and wesson knives? does it work with all boker models? are then any other knives that can do this as well?
