  • @Roadsideimports I wasn't being sensitive but I had a question I didn't make a vague statement and I live in south texas I have two uncles that are cops and from what they tell me its illegal to carry but not to own. Also try being more courteous when dealing with people that watch your videos.

  • @GunShotWound308 NO YOU DO THAT YOURSELF. They are legal in TX to own, they are legal to carry in TX if you are Law Enforcement, Military, or have one arm. If you already knew the answer then why ask a question? That is stupid, clarifying the matter is another thing and making assumptions they are illegal in general falls to the peanut gallery over and over.

  • @Roadsideimports I didn't make a statement I asked a Question so don't be so defensive

  • @GunShotWound308 Don't be so sensitive, if you wish to be like that then you should shop for dresses. Laws apply to where you are and you have not disclosed your location, so NO THEY ARE NOT ILLEGAL THEY ARE RESTRICTED IN SOME PLACES.

  • @Roadsideimports oh ok so if they are restricted I can't own one? Or just not carry it?

  • @GunShotWound308 Can't carry it, it all depends on where you are talking about. There are many states where you can carry some concealed some not concealed. It all depends don't make a vague general statement to things because they are not illegal, laws apply to where you are.

  • Isn't this illegal?

  • @GunShotWound308 No, they are restricted in some places so the question is where are you and what are all the applicable laws that apply to you.

  • @acuaricon That does not violate anything for shipping.

  • Comment removed

  • @Roadsideimports ..ordered a few from assisted and sent a message through general contact as well. thanks a lot again.

  • @acuaricon If it does not have the eyelet hole in the blade then you can clock it to whatever you want, then you can use whatever. This is the Top Lock II or 1 model? 1 use 1/2 and II uses 3/8

  • hi, im from australia & was wondering is it possible to send me all the parts for a balisong so i can put it together over here? as butterfly knives are illegal here.

    cheers.

  • @rockhardo100 Aye email me m8 hit the contact on the website and we can discuss things.

  • will it work even if you don't have the safety?

and also, since I have boker Kalashnikov, does that mean all i need to buy is the spring?

  • @TheSuperboatman None of the new ones come with safety models

  • do you have kits to convert a crkt m16-13sf?

  • now can i do this with any smith and wesson i have a gold issue

  • You can do this to any push button locking knife, doesn't matter the make they all work the same way.

  • where do u get teh coil spring for that :3

  • I sell them

  • where did YOU get them :D

  • I have them made for me and sell them at Assistedknife

  • are auto conversion knives not as sturdy or wear down easier because they aren't being used the way they were intended to be?

  • No, they are intended for this use otherwise they would not be drilled out and milled with inlets for springs. They might argue that to protect their legal asshole but in realistic terms they wouldn't do what they do for no reason now would they?

  • awesome makes sense. thanks for getting back to me so fast!

  • does a Smith & Wesson also have the spots to put the spring and what size, diameter, and length is the spring?

  • Yes but you have to drill it down to accept the spring. You can use 7/16 or 1/2 springs both will work.

  • can youu do this with a gerber fast draw?

  • NO, this can only be done with push button models.

  • Can you do this to any switch blade

  • You can modify any push button lock knife into an automatic, your choice of wording isn't quite correct because a switchblade has already been converted. Push button locks are converted by coil springs and linerlocks are converted by leaf springs typically that is.

  • Roadside imports are the most learned vatos on you tube. Will be buying my next OTF from you.

  • Nice vid! Will this conversion work on the Boker Reality based knives? They're button locks as well, but you previously said only the Kalashnicov and the Magnum.

  • Yes, they are more like the Kalashnikov design but they also have this option.

  • hey i just baught the ak47 tanto at your store,i cant wait

  • hey sounds cool but cant find on site could you help...

  • Go to the Switchblade Kit section

  • Where did you get the spring, whats the specific name?

  • I sell the springs and there are 3 different torsion strengths.

  • do you sell springs off ebay

  • I hate ebay, I have a real online store. ebay Sucks.

  • Apologies if I'm missing something, but it looks as though your video already started out with an automatic. The button was already present. What about models where the button, or the hole for the button, isn't there? I'm assuming drilling would be involved? Again, if missing something, sorry.

  • Yes, you are missing everything thing and seem not to pay any attention whatsoever. These are standard push button models. Push button lock models are completely legal, it just so happens that Boker has them channeled and ready for spring conversion.

  • do you know how to convert a nwtf?

  • What brand is that?

  • national wild turkey federation

  • 101 Proof damn that is some potent shit to drink. I like my whiskey but that is like paint thinner to the core. The conversion would be barfing your brains out. If gas ever becomes to expensive and Turkey is cheaper you can run the engine off of it just fine. So alternative fuels are possible.

  • what the hell are you talking about?

  • I'm talking about how to convert a national wild turkey federation.

  • would this work on a boker magnum mission ll knife?

it has thumb studs and a leaf spring i think. would it just be a spring assisted? what kind of spring would i need?

  • Coil springs are only for button lock models. Leaf springs are for dual action conversions that have thumbstuds and a hidden release or trigger device.

  • is there anything i could do to make it spring assisted or with a trigger hidden device? Or will it only stay as a thumb flick?

  • I told you if it is a thumb stud liner lock, which that is what it is, you can modify it with a scale device like a Vallotton conversion or you can use a button release system with a coil conversion and will need the arbor and cutter and a carbide for the blade eyelet, then the spring and the button plunger and button spring on modify the blade to accept it all. If you want a button dual action you use a leaf spring. Its complicated and the knife isn't worth the time unless you love it.

  • forget that too much work, ill just buy one to get out of the work. thanks for the quick responses. very helpful.

  • Best solution lots of tools and a Dremel involved. Feel free to visit my website for models that I carry.

  • I have a question can you do that to any boker knife because I just got the: Boker Magnum Carbon Fiber Handle Folding Pocket Knife

and I would like it if I could turn that into a switch blade I dont know if you have ever heard of that knife but if you could please tell me that would be nice thanks.

  • Has to be a button lock or if it is not then then it is very complicated to make a dual action model.

  • what about a spring assisted knife?

  • Spring or torsion bar. Modifications can be done but I don't have a clue what model you have so can't tell you what the options are. Is is a linerlock, is it a lockback, does it have thumbstuds, is it a push button lock. What is it? Model number and a photo would help and sending things via email makes the most sense.

  • actually if you serch the web and type these words in you will find it to: Boker Magnum Carbon Fiber Handle Folding Pocket Knife.

it saise it is also a locking liner but Im not positive what that is.

  • well it has a thumb stud and it is a lock blade but I dont know the model number but if you go on ebay and type in carbon fiber knife it will come up.

  • Thumb stud linerlock. You can do a dual action conversion with a leaf spring opening. It is alot of modification and machining parts specific to that model. Better go get your Dremel tool out.

  • ok thanks

  • By chance do you know if this type of conversion would work with a Colt MK-4 Button knife and if so what size spring should you use?

  • A rule of thumb is to measure the center of the pivot to the spring tip hole in the blade and double it for the correct coil diameter, in inches. I sell the Cutter Bit and Arbor as well which is sometimes needed like with the Smith & Wesson models.

  • hey can this be dome with all Boker Top Lock knives

  • Yes, the spring sizes vary on the Magnum and Kalashnikov models they are large versions, same as the Top Lock and Speedlock. The small spring is for the Mini-Magnums and Top Lock 2 models.

  • Curious...Does the safety stop on the spine of the knife also keep the knife from unlocking and closing shut? I know that it keeps the knife from opening accidentally should the button be pushed.

  • Yes, but the button lock prevents it from closing so you really don't need to lock it again while open but yes you can.

  • does this work with all smith and wesson knives? does it work with all boker models? are then any other knives that can do this as well?

  • All Smith & Wesson ExtremeOps Button Locks, all BOKER KALASHNIKOV - Button Locks, and all BOKER MAGNUM - Button Locks.

  • so are these springs special sizes made for switchblades? where could i buy a spring like this?

  • From me go to the website at roadsideimports dot com

  • ok thanks

  • It is a button lock the button prevents it from closing when it is opened so it locks it into place that is why it is called a button lock. A liner lock is on the side of the knife and a lockback is at the back of the knife.

  • Are button lock knives legal in Canada?

  • Button lock models are legal but once you convert them into fully automatic switchblades then they are illegal to carry unless you are military, law enforcement, or have one arm.

  • are switchblade springs legal to order?

  • Yes, they are simply parts.

  • Nice video

but i don't get it mine already is automatic sins the day i both it

  • I have a Smith & Wessson "S.W.A.T" Special Tactical knife. Can I make it intro a switchblade like in the video?

  • Yes, they are channeled for the spring already as well.

  • is this knife specially outfitted to be able to change to a switchblade

  • Yes, all Boker models are channeled to make into an automatic switchblade.

  • where can you find a coil like that? what's sold for

  • at roadsideimports dot com Email me that is why these videos are listed.

  • first! dude your legend nice vids

  • This is a basic conversion for all Boker Models and Smith & Wesson Extreem Ops, the only hard part is getting the trigger button back in place but once you assemble one, you'll be a pro at it, assembly takes less than 5 minutes.

  • sweet i had a lighter OTF like your model. it busted so i put it back together. Side action autos seem easier than put that together.

  • That is certain, OTF version are very difficult to assemble. Side Opening Button Lock Conversion are the easiest to do they take 5 minutes and you really can't mess anything up.

  • sweet hey dude check your mail, i need to talk to you
