I wouldnt have minded a paid subscription , I do hated a bit the "heroic units and upgrades". Because most matches was rushing to the middle and getting defenses from there , because mostly at the mid points were the fuel and ammo resources, hell even tanks that wouldnt get destroyed by 5 anti tank guns , or vice versa , heroic anti tank guns that would destroy most tanks in 1 shot.
Still I love the COH series , still play the original single player campaign.
@malkamutra: I was talking about Company of Heroes Online. That was ko'd by THQ/Relic on 31/03/2011. But, as you observe, Company of Heroes still plays on. And is well worth it (IMHO). Hope that clarifies. :)

And they only roll like 2-3 maps. And when you ask them to change it they say make your own lobby.
ZOOM THE GAME OUT MORE.. INCREASE MAP SIZE %400 .. make the units slower.. add more realistic damage modeling.. increase the length of shot for all units.. especially tanks and artillery.. add better cover mechanics.. and you will have a Men of War game .. COH style.
Its really sad that this Awesome, Magnificent, Intelligent, Realistic, Fun and Amazing game is dying everyday...I have been waiting for a new sequel for this game, not Eastern Front, but something from Relic themselves where its Genuine, Reliable, i want a story line i want life back into this franchise. For anyone worried about the conversation down there, the game has a new "Skill Rating" system which is actually quite accurate. It will give tougher games to those who dominate; however those opponents will often be of higher NOMINAL level, leveling the playing field. It takes roughly a dozen games to seriously flesh out a realistic rating to go off of. And yes, you will occasionally get absolutely destroyed by higher levels, assuming you are SERIOUSLY wrecking the crap out of normal opponents.
I don't need more WWII games, just expand this series, with awesome expansions, and maybe a new one, CoH2, but we don't want this new "modern times", we don't want vietnam, we don't want imaginary cold war, we want WWII CoH, but with a new engine (I don'T say this engine is bad, contrariwise, this engine is awesome, but later, it will be old). Relic should forget WH40k, and work more on CoH, because this game mutch better than 40k. :)
I understand this, but look, 40k have 3-4 expansion, and the 40k2 have some too, I love 40k, but CoH is closer to my heart. CoH have 2 expansion, 1 of them is awesome, the other is a ... nothing, that is not the best. CoH have CoH Online, what is great, cuz it's free. I say 40k get its new expansion, then it will get another (playeable Imperial Guards), and then do a little break with it, and work with the CoH. This 2 frenchise is too much for 1 company.

@egonsma Nah. We are just used to Relic giving us more than they ought to for expansions. I mean EVERY ONE of them is standalone. OF gave new users TWO new armies. Original gave two new armies... i.e. TWO FUCKING FACTIONS... That's if you ignore the campaigns and game modes and all that hat... Take blizzard -- every one of their expansions is a campaign + a couple of new units. And it will be guaranteed to be overpriced. Relic is a god when it comes to strategy games.

I haven't played it in a while but i remember what a great RTS it was. Does anyone know how to fix broken files after the extraction of Company of Heroes?
Ive Downloaded it, installed it, did the extraction the i get a diagnosis that i have 2 broken files, I have the specifics if someone knows what to do, this is my 3rd time downloading it. (I always seem to have an error at 87%, which makes me download it to a different folder)

Sure. You should frequently check between the Steam store and the THQ website. THQ had an event in which they marked all of their prices 75% off at their website including Company of Heroes products.
Its much better to buy Company of Heroes than to play Company of Heroes: Online. CoHo is a piece of shit. I tried it.. played it for a few days and hated it the whole time. Its rigged for whoever spent more real money or has more playtime.

they should have took that eastern mode and mixed it with regular CoH

@egonsma Nah. We are just used to Relic giving us more than they ought to for expansions. I mean EVERY ONE of them is standalone. OF gave new users TWO new armies. Original gave two new armies... i.e. TWO FUCKING FACTIONS... That's if you ignore the campaigns and game modes and all that hat... Take blizzard -- every one of their expansions is a campaign + a couple of new units. And it will be guaranteed to be overpriced. Relic is a god when it comes to strategy games.

@bloodhoney360 I know WW2 games are popular targets and seem a tad overdone. But that's cos it's so great :P ... and CoH was amazing. I haven't played it in a while but i remember what a great RTS it was. It had REAL strategy rivalling turn-based games (Chess and Go being pinnacles) and not the 15 year old sugar-addicted clickfest u see in SC2.

Does anyone know how to fix broken files after the extraction of Company of Heroes?
Ive Downloaded it, installed it, did the extraction the i get a diagnosis that i have 2 broken files, I have the specifics if someone knows what to do, this is my 3rd time downloading it. (I always seem to have an error at 87%, which makes me download it to a different folder)

Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor (the latest expansion) goes on sale for as low as $7.50! Its currently $7.50 at the THQ website.
Why not just pay that $7.50 instead of having to go through this micro-transaction + lag-infested version of the game?

Sure. You should frequently check between the Steam store and the THQ website. THQ had an event in which they marked all of their prices 75% off at their website including Company of Heroes products.
Its much better to buy Company of Heroes than to play Company of Heroes: Online. CoHo is a piece of shit. I tried it.. played it for a few days and hated it the whole time. Its rigged for whoever spent more real money or has more playtime.

If you spend real money, the units you produce will be stronger and your commander abilities will be stronger and you will have more of them.
If you play more, you will get the same results but slower than if you were to spend real money.
