GREEK SHIPS AND GREEK CREWS 4 LIFE...FILLIPINOS, INDIANS, PAKISTANIS, CHINESE AND ALL THE OTHER MONKEYS CAN GO BACK TO THEIR TREES AND GO PICK BANANAS AND MANGOS
@panaistoumbiotis Why you hating bro, it takes all sorts to make a world. All sea farers should take pride in their ability to work with different people of different nationalities. Maybe this career is not for you if you cannot accept that.
"LOOP SCAVANGE" ?. is that the one with two different levels of wholes? I'm really sorry coz its my first time to see it here in net.. i've never seen it before thats why i'm curios of it coz i'm also a cadet engine and i'm really want to know that different kinds of engines, study and research on it..... thanks for the movie
That is a much simpler system then the RD's they have a loop scavenge but a short piston skirt. On the exhaust side there is the most complicated rotary exhaust valve in the industry. I rather work on a true loop scavenge much less maintenance. I do like the B&W uni-flow system as well.
@carmenlee87 it all depends - sometimes based on mfr quality, fuel quality, but usually you clean, measure and prep for it's next use, unless it's worn beyond limits.
ya, thomuz.. if i'm not mistaken.. there r 2 stages of scavenge trunk with 2 groups of scavenge valves.. under piston arrangement.. so cleaning the scavenge space is going to be very difficult.
i worked with this type of engine model Sulzer 7RLA56, since the engine has no exhaust v/v, the fuel injector can be easily placed at the center of cyl' head, only the scav eff bout 80-90%. the different between RTA, RTFlex(camless) is the piston skirt whereas the loop scavenging piston skirt design much longer for scavenging/exhaust port purposes. its simply to say that.. loop scavenging sys' is more easy for maintenance/service.
This ship is still sailing. Last port call was Hamburg on June 26.

sz42781 2 years ago
think u have to be a deck side,tats a boring,LAZY job .i hate tat,
thomuz6 2 years ago
Maybe boring, but topside is where I'd want to be if the ship sank! But I'd still choose the engine room, just because engines are awesome.
