  • Spot ON!! I can't stop listening!

  • @DayInTheLife42 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy it :).

  • kudos fr nailing the last note. i thought tht only the tiger was able to. wayto go!

  • @Ben2DJammin Thanks, *roar* ;)!

  • Ahhh this is great!

  • @Partyburner ....please could you send the music? :-)

  • @Eclipser136 I'm glad you like it! Sure, just send me a message with your e-mail-address.

  • That was awesome you and Trudbol know your stuff

  • @Leinad0001 Thanks, I'm glad you like our collab! Many more are sure to come!

  • This vid went viral on Cote d'Ivoire

  • I CAN HAS MUSIC? :D

  • @Carpface Sure :). Just send me a message with your e-mail-address and I'll send it to you.

  • @Partyburner You probably get a lot of requests for this, but is there any way I could get the music from you as well?

  • @sploosh578 No problem, just give me your e-mail-address and I'll send it your way.

  • BITTER END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • Nice job hitting Sheer Kahn's note.

  • @PatioRS Thank you! BTW: I'm singing even lower at the end of my videos "The Way You Look Tonight" and "In einem kühlen Grunde" :).

  • You guys are amazing! Thanks for sharing :)

  • @CherryCokeLove Thanks for your nice comment!

  • l love this funny video xD

  • @ImFastYoureFurious Thank you very much :)!

  • When You Alone Who Comes Around.

  • @RurouniK95 BTW: Did you ever notice the irony in the song? The vultures are "friends to the bitter end", because they are waiting for others to die so they can eat their remains. They will most likely "come around", "when you're alone", are literally going to "pluck you up", "when you are down" and they surely "never met an animal" they "didn't like" :).

That's great about old Disney movies: Characters are shown as what they are, in this case scavengers. They can still be nice guys, though!

  • What we gonna do ?

  • @ImFastYoureFurious Uh ... I don't know, what you wanna do?

  • @Partyburner Now listen, first l say what we gonna and u say "l don't know what u wanna do ?" and l say what we gonna do, what u wanna do, what we gonna do, what we wanna do

    this is do something

  • hello im part of a mens choir and i was wondering if i could get a copy of this sheet music? it sounds great and we would love to do it. we would be willing to pay u for it once the show started

  • @alexgunter9 Sure no problem, just send me a message with your e-mail-address.

  • That's awesome!

  • @NaomiCole28 Thank you very much!

  • I'm a sucker for a good acapella cover and a bigger sucker for a Disney-Acapella cover. The last Shere Khan bass note is INCERDIBLE. That note was originally performed by Bill Lee.

  • @molesticles Thanks for your nice comment and for adding our recording to your "100 greatest covers ever"-playlist!

The final bass note is a so-called low C (= C2). BTW: I sung even lower on the final bass note of the videos "The Way You Look Tonight" and "In einem kühlen Grunde" (A1). The trick to achieve that is singing the bass part in the morning, right after waking up, because one's lower range is usually much better at that time.

  • Oh my God!! what a bass!! Amazing

  • @SingingGio Thank you very much! I sung the bass solo in the morning, right after getting up, because at that time of the day the vocal folds are usually very relaxed and thick, which helps hitting low notes. The fact that this voice pretends to fall asleep during the video is a homage to that fact ;).

  • @Partyburner Ahah right! btw, excellent! you both are great :)

  • Umm

Bill Lee was Shere Khan in this song Wollie Reitherman said so on the audio commentary on the 2007 DVD

  • that was weird

  • @mewt66 Do you mean weird in a good way or in a bad way?

  • @Partyburner Believe it or not.... I've been kind of down about things... and this made me feel better... your version. thanks man.

  • @metalmonkey88 Thanks! It's nice to know we were able to brighten your day!

  • Thank you all for >100,000 hits, >350 favs and almost 400 likes!

  • Oh my gosh! I sent Trudbol a message months ago asking if he'd perform this song. I can't believe he did it! I'm so happy. I love it. It's so well done!!!

  • @Chubtoaster Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the song and our version of it!

  • This is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @EleaPhi Thanks, it's much appreciated!

  • is there anywhere I could get sheet music for this???

  • @barbershopqbass8124 Sure, just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send you the score.

  • @Partyburner i would like a copy of this as well! :)

  • Hammermäßig :D Absolut genial!

  • @sgtkiff Vielen Dank! Es war auch eine Menge Arbeit :).

  • Shere Kann was sung by Bill Lee. Ravenscroft might also have been involved: the two were the founding and continual members of the Mellomen from their inception in 1948 until the group disbanded sometime in the early 1970's; they were staples in the Disney studios.

When you think of Thurl Ravenscroft, think of "Tony the Tiger" of the Frosted Flakes commercials.

  • This is incredibleee! it really made my day!

never expected anything like this when I clicked the thumbnail at first.

    terrific job guys!

  • @xlindeeex Thank you very much!

  • That was incredible!

  • @youbecame Thank you!

  • A yummy friend invite! *licks lips*

  • @genxxxersize Haha yeah, the song is full of irony, which wasn't obvious to me when I was watching the movie as a kid: The vultures are "friends to the bitter end", because they are scavengers. They are literally going to "pluck you up" "when you are down". And they surely "never met an animal" they "didn't like" :).

  • I always loved this song, and this is a great tribute.

I do feel like I have to mention that Sher Khan's part is lacking that little bit of umph that makes it so beautifully menacing in the original.

Otherwise great job, and I'm loving this barbershop multi-track style

  • @thegreatNEb Thanks, I'm glad you like it! Regarding the Shere Khan-solo: Keep in mind, that the original was sung by a professional bass singer and I'm just an amateur baritone, who used his morning voice to be able to hit that note :).

  • @Partyburner

Hey, you did a fantastic job! I too love my morning voice, if only there was a way to make it permanent? (whiskey and cigars?)

  • @juliewheeler1000 I don't understand the meaning of your comment. You are encouraging people to post videos responses to this video?

  • Ha, this is brilliant! Is it possible to get the orchestration for this? I'd love to do it with my barbershop chorus next semester!

  • @idontcare72a Thank you! Sure, just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send you the score.

  • Who is Patrick von Massow?

And who is from what country?

  • @BryannaAkins560 That would be me. I'm the one who sung the lower voices. In the video, I wear a white shirt in front a black background. And I'm the one being from Germany. Also see the video description for more information and links to our separate channels.

  • Absolutely love this - your vocal range is unbelievable! I only found it earlier today and it's been in my head ever since. I'm part of a student male voice choir, and we enjoy singing a bit of a cappella - if I send you my email address, would you mind sending me the sheet music so we can give this a go?

  • @mrw1v07 Thanks for your kind words! No problem about the score, I just sent it to you.

  • Please How I can acced to every voice or track? I cant or I undestand , I want to be a spanish version, because you harmony its perfect¡ you are a great job..

  • @monoleus Thanks, I'm glad you like our recording. I'm not sure I understand your question. If you mean how to do a multitrack recording: I would recommend you to start with the free software "Audacity". With it, you can successively record all the tracks, while listening to your previously recorded ones over headphones.

  • Truly phenomenal. This was such a great song for you two to do. I thought that the spoken parts gave it such character and just made it so fun to watch and hear. I hope to see more of this from you guys! By the way, i loved the sher kan part, baritones always give me the goosebumps just listening to them. But again, this was such a treat to watch :D

  • @SexyRikuForMe Thank you very much, it's nice to know our effort is appreciated!

  • @Partyburner Its no problem at all :) This is so fun to watch I couldnt help but facebook for all my friends to enjoys to :D Already 6 or 7 people have said that it was so awesome. You guys really did a great job with this piece :)

  • Superb - really good. I am part of a local barber shop group in Hampshire (UK) and wondered if you would be kind enough to share the music once again!?

  • @gdg594 Thank you! No problem about the sheet music: I just sent it your way. Have fun singing it with your group!

  • Sweet! I suppose you aren't sharing your sheet music, are you? Anyway, great voicing, you guys rock!

  • @andycyca Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the show! We don't mind sharing the sheet music. Just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send you the score.

  • This is so great! Thanks for the show, and I like you playing in the thumbnails, very funnt.

I saw you shared the score to some others, may I have it as well? It will be good for a surprise on my friend's wedding.

  • @Cui713 Thank you, comments like your make our effort worthwhile! Concerning the sheet music: Just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send it your way.

  • excellent! this is my all time favorite disney song! you two did it justice for sure.

  • @chocolateglaze Thank you, it's much appreciated! And this is my all time favorite Disney song, as well. I always wondered, why most people only remember “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wan'na Be Like You” from the Jungle Book.

  • Very nice, indeed.

  • @PhantaziePhreeq Thank you!

  • i like everything except for the end... nothing can top the original sher khan finale'

  • @megauin2 Thanks! And yeah: It's hard to compete with the original Shere Khan bass solo :). But please keep in mind that in the original it's sung by a professional bass singer and I'm just an amateur baritone.

  • @Partyburner oh i didn't mean to offend, i only meant that just as you said, it's hard to compete with the original

  • I love listening to this song, and you sing it so well. Better than the original I'm sure. Is it possible you could give me the music sheet for this?

  • @DogDays124 Thank you for your nice words! No problem about the sheet music. Just send me your e-mail address in a PM and I'll send you the score.

  • @Partyburner

Hello, this is a very nice job, i'm fond of vocal music and your video is fantastic. My musical School in Bordeaux (France, sorry for my poor english) prepare a Disney Exhibition and i would like to sing this song with your arrangement with some others guys. Is it possible you could give me your score ? I send you a short PM with my e-mail adress. Congratulations !

  • @Hadhy79 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the video! I got your message and sent you the score, btw.

  • Pretty good

  • @DemiCullen17 Thanks!

  • thumbs up if it was too hard to watch the cartoon with 6 singing heads on the side lol

  • @meowerthecat Haha yeah, there is too much going on to catch everything at once. But this way, you have something new to discover every time you re-watch it :).

  • this song always makes me feel better :)

  • @TheFunnysmile123 Glad we're able to brighten your day :)!

  • @Partyburner to tell you the truth, i wish you guys were the actual voices in the movie because you guys can really sing :)

(P.S. you guys are better than the real guys) :)

  • Hi. Your version of this is brilliant. I've been looking for this arrangement for ages but haven't had any joy! Are you able to let me know where you found it please?

  • @kernowneil Thank you for your nice words. We were searching for the sheet music of the song like forever without success, too. Finally, we ended up commissioning someone to do a transcription of it for money. But we don't mind sharing it. Just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send you the score.

  • @Partyburner You're a star thanks very much! It really is appreciated!! my e-mail addy is stukas_caneva@yahoo.com

Thanks again and I look forward to your next updates!

    Cheers,

    Neil

  • Absolutely gorgeous!!! You two are soooo....Oh, I'm spechless, it's just soo perfect!!!

I had a lot of fun and I'm enjoying all your videos!!!!!

  • @smileOFflower Thanks a lot for your nice comment! I'm glad you enjoy the video. There are more in work, stay tuned!

  • my kids loves your version better :)

  • @microstrat Thanks, that's nice to know! Judging from your videos, they seem to enjoy making music themselves, too :). All the best for them and for you!

  • Noooooo *-* this is epic waaa fantastic armonization and voices really!!

when i was child i love JUNGLE BOOK songs ^^

  • @Fry093 Thanks! Yes, I always enjoyed watching the Jungle Book, too. There was also that Jungle Book anime series, called "Shonen Mowgli", which is pretty good too, IMHO. It takes a few episodes to get used to it. But during the show, there are nice developements of the characters relationship, etc. If you are a Jungle Book fan, I think you would enjoy the series, too.

  • very good :) what is this style of singing called??

  • @warwolf193 Thank you, I'm glad you like it! The style of music is called Barbershop, if that's what you mean.

  • You have done some wonderful videos on this channel and this is one of the best of your many. Thanks for sharing this with so many of us fans of close harmony! I think your channel deserves more viewers and subscribers, but I can only add one to that number. I'm sure every viewer enjoys your work.

  • @awreslr2 Thank you very much for your nice comment and also for your subscription! I guess the low number of my subscribers is due to the fact that I mainly do recordings of not so well-known songs. I'm not so much into chart music and I don't want to do a recording of a song I don't like. But I'm currently working on a somewhat better known song. We'll see if it will do the trick.

  • is there any chance of getting the sheet music for this as i really wanna sing this with my quartet. cheers

  • @jugglersam1 No problem, just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send it to you.

  • I'm looking for the music sheet of this song. Could you help me ? I would like it with the 5 different voices separately, not just one voice and piano. I hope I'm clear...

  • @DettwilerPictures2 Sure, send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send you the sheet music.

  • Beautiful! Bravo on the bass note ;D

  • @alienfingers Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • George Sanders also did the singing voice of Shere Khan. Not Bill Lee.

  • @STCooper1 Thanks for the hint, but according to the English Wikipedia article "The Jungle Book (1967 film)", George Sanders only provided the talkig voice for Shere Khan and Bill Lee did the singing voice.

  • @Partyburner I am aware that it says that, but it is wrong. Sanders himself was an accomplished singer by this point of his life and had been for many years. He even had an album out all his own. I listened to every song he ever sand of a movie soundtrack and his album, which took me forever to find, and I can tell it is him singing as Shere Khan. No offense intended.

  • @STCooper1 Ok, I'll do some research on this topic and try to find a primary source backing this up, before I change it in the video description. Thanks again for pointing this out. There seem to be many rumors about who did the singing. I saw multiple other names, too in comments on other videos.

I hope you enjoyed our rendition of the song, btw :).

  • @Partyburner Ok. There are soundtracks in Sanders' name that have him singing on them. One of them is of a movie called Call me madame. There is an earlier one where he sings For hes a jolly good fellow, but I can't remember the name. His record is called The George Sanders Touch Songs For The Lovely Lady, but it is hard to find.

  • @Partyburner

You guys are right, George Sanders didn't sing this. It was Thurl Ravenscroft (How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Haunted Mansion, Tony The Tiger, many others). Imdb confirms.

    ...and great rendition btw.

  • I never realized how beautifully arranged this piece of music is until you did it so much justice. Thank You

  • @davjam89 Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed our video so much! And I agree: It's a really nice (and very under-appreciated) tune. In my opinion, this scene is the best part of the movie.

  • @Partyburner Indeed, it's always the part of the film that I remember. Your impression of it almost sounds like it did to me as a child the first time I heard it. I hadn't gotten old enough to determine the difference between the characters voices, and the voices of real people in everyday life. When I did, it seemed a shame as it never sounded as clear and tuneful as it did to me as a child. Thank You for bringing this back so as once again I can hear it from a child's point-of-view.

  • An absolute kick-ass version of "That's What Friends Are For". I am really really surprised how good it was. Appreciate you guys putting the effort into this. Moreover I love the fact that you guys appreciate how fantastic this Disney tune is. You kept the vibe of the original and that's why this deserves a 5 star if this were the old you tube layout!

  • @Nevermind2004x Thank you very much---comments like yours make our effort worthwhile! And yes, it's a nice song, indeed. I wonder why most people only remember “The Bare Necessities” and “I Wan'na Be Like You” (The Monkey Song) from this classic movie.

  • Super nice song :D

  • @95BoyFallout Yes, I wish they would still have songs like that in movies, nowadays.

  • @Partyburner Definitely the best version on youtube! Really liked this. Any chance I could get the sheet music - me and some friends would like to sing this at a concert next month. my email is tall_dude@hotmail.co.uk

  • @thebigjoe100 Thanks for the high praise!

No problem about the sheet music---I just sent you an e-mail with it. Have fun and good luck for your concert!

  • Hi, I have to sing a polyphonic song for my studies, i really wanted to learn this song and your version is the best i heard, if you can send me the sheet music, i will be very happy. antoinepihier@yahoo.com . thanks and put more vidéos on youtube, it's so beautiful! sorry for my english, because i'm french, that's why...

  • I really enjoyed this!

I'm singing in a barbershop quartet in Sweden called "Barber-Papas"

We have been searching for an arrangement of this song for some while now.

We would really appreciate if you could send us a copy of the notes!

  • @daroxxen Thanks, I'm glad you like our video!

We were searching for the sheet music like forever without success, too. Finally, we ended up commissioning someone to do a transcription of it for money. But we don't mind sharing it. Just send me a message with your e-mail address and I'll send you the sheet music.

  • @Partyburner

    Abolutley fantastic!

    my e-mail is d_aberg@hotmail.com

and thanks yet again for the quick response!

  • What a very good qualited interpretation ! It sounds very professional, but not only is it a perfect interpretation, but also you both took the time to make a little theatrical interpretation by filming yourselves, that was very entertaining !!

  • @MaetelSX999 Thank you very much! It's nice to know people enjoy the videos we put up and appreciate the work we put in these details. This makes our effort worthwhile!

  • awesome video for an awesome song. Is there any way I could get the sheet music? my siblings and I want to try to sing it for camp next month. foolhardy@dr.com

  • @EEgdgt2010 Thanks! I just sent you the score. Have fun singing it!

  • Absolutely brilliant. I'm already a big fan of Julien's and now I've seen these vids with Patrick, even more so. There's so much talent out there. Eric.

  • @Ukuleleric Thanks for the high praise, Eric! There will be many more videos from Julien and me in the future!

  • Hey this is soo good. I was wondering whether you could send me sheet music if you have any (zac_fraserbaxter@hotmail.com) I was hoping to sing it with a quartet. Thanks!

  • @zacfraserbaxter Thank you, I'm glad you like it! No problem about the score. I just sent you an e-mail. Have fun singing it!

  • @oo0Claire0oo Thank you :)!

  • unglaublich von der klangfülle besser als das origninal

    mehr von dir und julien

  • @icepeach007 Wow, danke für das große Lob! Und keine Angst: Es werden viele weitere Videos von Julien und mir folgen!

  • awesome

  • @KwameS14 Thanks!

  • You're guys are awesome!! I'm really enjoying these barbershop musics!! You must make a video showing the process. A making of, of you recording your parts. :)

  • @dimitreze Thank you! It's funny that you mention that, because we were thinking about doing exactly that. Maybe we will, but it would be a while from now.

  • that was sweet

  • @twinsrookie Thanks!

  • the guy at the fell asleep

  • @robbiec82 I ... was just resting my eyes ;).

  • How did you do that?

  • The basic process can be described as follows: You record one audio track after another, while listening to the previously recorded track(s) via headphones. You can do that with the free software Audacity, for instance.

During that process, you film yourself with a camera. After recording all tracks, you export the mixed audio from Audacity into a wave file and import it to a video editing program (e. g. Sony Vegas). Here, you can position the separate videos and sync everything up.

  • this was fun!

  • @Hoopahh I'm glad you like it!

  • i love it

  • @XxXxImortalLoverXxX Cool, thank you very much!

  • omg

  • @XxXxImortalLoverXxX I guess that means you like it? :)

  • AMAZING!!

  • @RedGirlCover Thank you very much!

  • @RedGirlCover Thanks! Love your work as well. Cheers

  • so cool :D

  • @Shevtali Thanks!

  • ...and now that's the part where I really have to think about posting my video to yumiheartbreak's contest -.- YOU ARE BEHIND AWESOMENESS!!

  • @MidnightJibreel Thank you very much! But don't feel discouraged about entering the contest. After all it's about the fun, isn't it?
