I have an 8 year old female Cairn. She has no interest in play anymore unless it's raising hell barking at dogs behind a fence. She's turned far more clingy now that she's "middle aged," and will whine if not around people or included in gatherings. Sweet dog.
my cairn does the same to his older border terrier mix brother, trying everything to get him to play and as a last resort he comes to me to 'tell me' his boring brother wont play with him. Love cairns!!!!

Lol my carin does the same thing when her brother wont play with her she will put her head under him an try to flip him over.

I have 2 Cairns, and they play like that all of the time...Cairn WWF! One of mine, Elmo, was adopted from Colonel Potter. What a great rescue group!
