  • ''i like being told what to do'' "'regimented'' Yes typical cult eh?

  • Is there a Hare Krishna pl,ace in north Wiltshire? Somebody told me there's a place in Swindon, but I couldn't find anything on the internet about it.

  • So the Main Text of ISKON is the Bagavad Gita?

  • @ThoughtTraveler Yes, the main text of the Hare Krishnas is the Bhagavad Gita

  • Srila Prabhupada is gone.

Hare Krishna practitioners need a new living Master.

A Master at the highest level not belong to any religion.

  • What you re saying about 'changes in conciousness ' is so true..I love hearing this. Hari bol

  • Sound is energy. Energy is everything. Physics has finally somewhat caught up with the transcendental knowledge of the vedas. Now we await for the rest of the world to wake up to reality and embrace that.

  • actions in order to be able to accept their own behavior. it is just the basic nature of the human mind, ask any expert. So if you don't want to think God is there why denounce God or say He doesn;t exist? Just simply say I am not interested because I want to enjoy my life without any worry of ramifications? Similiarly like parents, the children want to be on their own and not answer to any authority in order to behave as they wish. All in all just be nice to each other! That is love too.

  • give up all forms of religion and just surrender. Proving that it is not about being this group or that group per se, but that it is about truth and sincerity. Whether you choose to believe God is there or not really doesn't change anything, Krishna is pure love and Krishna means all attractive. Love exists. How do you prove love exists in debate? How do you prove God exists? Usually examples are given. But if you don't want love or God what can be said? Humans always have to justify their ...

  • Truth is simply truth no matter what brand or group you attach to it. We can all make up or delude ourselves into thinking anything we want but that doesn't make it real. bhakti yoga or " to free the mind with devotion" just means to love God with all your heart, no reservations. This also means to love everyone else since everyone is part and parcel of God.We are all together yet diverse. In the Baghavada Gita< Krishna says to give all forms of religion and just surrender. (cont. above)

  • You don't even know how hard it is to truly live with Hera Krishna consciousness. I am trying so hard but I can't seem to reach that state where you are 100% devoted to Krishna.

  • Very personal documentary. I love how the 3 young men share their experience. What a blessing that they found God when other young (and not so young) people are risking ruining their lives.

  • Dont worry bro!!! when Lord Krishna will come and hug u ,these fools will bite the dust.they will be still waiting for the Jesus who will never come!

  • This guy is just waisting his time, serving maya! Maya has tricked him into serving in a bogus society with bogus gurus.

  • हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हर हरे राम हरे राम राम राम हरे हर,

  • Thats what I said :-)

  • hare rama hare krishna ..the chant is proven to reduce stress and wheel u of bad addictions

  • total hängen geblieben

  • actually it looks more like a leach!!

  • Lol, Newcastle devotees have longer hair.

  • "This comes from the book "Science of Self Realization": The Vedas enjoin us to seek out a guru; actually, they say to seek out the guru, not just a guru."

Thankyou. We agree 100% That Guru is Srila Prabhupada.

If you have any evidence to prove that Srila Prabhupada IS NOT 'the' Guru, then we would like to hear of it.

Until you prove me wrong I will continue to worship Srila Prabhupada who is not only 'a' guru, he is 'the' Guru.

    Thanks for the verse.

  • The Hare Krisna Maja Mantra could not be more dull. Seriously, the next time a Diety comes down here to pose as the Supreme being, I'm going to be right there to help him/her deliver as song or mantra thats actually pleasent for Human Beings. The instruments make the mantra a little easier to tolerate but seriously! After singing this mantra over and over, you wan't to strangle yourself. God help us!

  • Its only dull to those you are dull themselves. Perhaps you should try chanting cocacola it might work for you.

  • There is only one person here that sounds dull, boring and monotonous and its NOT the mantra.

And if you want to strangle yourself after repeating a few words, try calling the Samaritans, I suspect some underlying issues.

Chant Hare Krishna and be happy!

  • keep it up but you dont need a personal guru i live in richmond va i dont even know another Krishna here. Srila Prabhupada is the only guru you need

  • This comes from the book "Science of Self Realization": The Vedas enjoin us to seek out a guru; actually, they say to seek out the guru, not just a guru. The guru is one because he comes in disciplic succession. What Vyäsadeva and Krishna taught five thousand years ago is also being taught now.

  • "Look for a spiritual master?" Whatever happened to Srila Prabhupada? Is he no longer available as your spiritual master, even though you read his books?

I shall remain your personal guidance, physically present or not physically present, as I am getting guidance from my Guru Maharaja.

    (Room Conversation, Vrindavan, 14/7/77)

Prabhu, please don't be mislead by the ISKCON leaders telling you, you need a physically present guru - you dont, as Srila Prabhupada confirms that.

  • Good point. Yes its a fact as soon an you come in contact with ISKCON you become indoctrinated with the false notion that you somehow need to seek out one of the 80 or so initiating Guru's in order to make advancement.

That is a complete myth propogated by the corrupt leaders. Prabhupada never authorised these men to be Guru.

Its typical bait and switch, yes they use Prabhupada to bait the new disciples then say He is not available and you must worship one of them. Smell the coffee!!

  • Even Caitanya Mahäprabhu and Lord Krishna accepted spiritual masters. One may ask that if Caitanya Mahäprabhu is Krishna Himself then why did He need a spiritual master? Of course He did not need a spiritual master, but because He was playing the role of Acharya He accepted a spiritual master. Even Krishna Himself accepted a spiritual master, for that is the system In this way the Lord sets the example for men. He is simply stressing the importance of accepting the disciplic succession. AL int

  • Err......sorry Prabhu WHO said you dont need a guru?

We say Prabhupada IS the Guru. One needs a PHYSICAL guru......but does one need a 'physically present' guru? No

"one has to associate with liberated persons not directly, physically, but by understanding, through philosophy and logic, the problems of life."

    (SB 3:31:48 purport)

So you have invented your own straw man and defeated it. Well done. Have you disproven that Prabhupada is the Diksa guru, certainly not.

  • There is no authority superior to Sri Krishna, and if we stick to this principle, we can become gurus. We don't need to change our position to become a guru. All we have to do is follow in the disciplic succession stemming from Sri Krishna. Caitanya Mahäprabhu has advised: Madhya-Lila 7.128. Caitanya Mahäprabhu instructed people to learn from Him and then go teach people within their own villages.

  • We are all aware that Sri Mahaprabhu advised that everyone become guru. But do you know which type? Obviously not.

    It is Siksa.

Anyone can become Diksa Guru? Clearly not....

"The guru must be situated on the topmost platform of devotional service. There are three classes of devotees, and the guru must be accepted from the topmost class."(C.c. Madhya, 24.330, purport)

    Therefore two proviso's requited

    1. Be a mahabhagavata.

    2. Have authorisation by predecessor guru.

  • How much were you paid, and by which organisation. Must put you for a lie detector test before appearing on this video. The starting part already shws bias and negativity.

  • Err what are you talking about?

  • Care to explain your comments? Not sure what you are on about either. Like I said to the other guy below, if you want to ask me some questions then go right ahead. Better that then jumping to conclusions.

  • Sorrry mate! The comment got placed in the wrong channel. I was referring to a certain Dvoraji who acts in various videos making mockery of many religious posts. She appears to be a paid agent for the mock shows. Anyway my sincere apologies to you. I'm not a member of Hare Krishna Org. but I see meaning in the continuos repetition of the names of God. Rama has the same numerology as OM and name of Krisna is so sweet. God bless you all.

  • Just to add my comment, I am the guy in the video! To settle this debate, professorxvile is right. The state of mind I was in, I would have got sucked into anyting that came along. That came along first. I am now happily out of the movement (left about 3 or 4 years ago), an atheist, happier and more at peace than I ever was following someone elses plan for my life.

  • Could you prove that you are who you say you are? I'd love to ask you some questions.

  • Hi VU, I directed this film (my name is on the end credits.) Salexanderss is indeed the guy in the video. He lived with me and NSFTM at university.

  • Fascinating. Its a great little documentary by the way. I'd be interested to hear what happened next. Who was your spiritual master? How did you end up leaving the movement? Are you still vegitarian? How did onion and garlic taste after abstaining from those particular evils? If anyone can answer those questions I'd be grateful. Cheers.

  • If you want to ask me some questions, you could send me a message on here (I guess you can do that?). Ask away.

  • at peace for a short while, atheists cannot escape the cycle of birth diease old age and death

  • Little cameo there from our ginger friend in the video :) thanks NSFTM

  • woo hoo I'm evil, so much for the divine Judgement of an enlightened being..

    Corn beef sandwich anyone?

  • Corn beef? enjoy. Also enjoy being slaughtered as a cow in your next life.

  • Watch out fot that friend in the video that says you are in University and you might regret it later if you don't drink etc. People like that are evil.

  • beautiful!

    thank you!

  • very interesting..

  • awesome...thanks

  • thx for sharing the documentary...hare krsna!..

  • ProfessorxVile you are wrong.. krishna bless you

  • it's a good thing he didn't fall for those filthy cults known as christianity and islam.

  • That's true...at least his membership in this cult won't hurt anybody except for himself (unless he has kids and raises them in this bs).

And some research has suggested that 'Christ' derives from 'Krishna', so I guess it's good that he found the source :S

  • cult?

its kinda the oldest culture in the world

  • Hinduism is, yes.

This, on the other hand, is a watered-down version for Western idiots who feel like turning over their lives to a multimillion dollar corporation (ISKCON).

  • Well, that is a pretty ignorant thing to say - the term Hinduism isnt even mentioned in 1 vedic scripture.

Sanatan Dharma (An authentic word/phrase unlike 'Hinduism') spreading in the west on the other hand was propecized by the incarnation of Lord Chaitanya

    "Western idiots" Indians as well!

  • Yes ISKCON has had some bumps in its growth but considering the people who were leading it weren;t qualified yet it has come a long way

i mean you cant expect people who have greed and lust in their previous culture albeit western or modern indian culture to become pure within a few decades.

it took Prabhupada many decades and He was way more advanced already than most and had been brought up in Krishna Consiousness somewhat

  • I hope so. There are enough morally bankrupt, greedy, child-molesting 'religions' in this world already.

  • Dont you see, its religion that provides morals. Why do you think there used to be restrictions in the past for sex, meat, drugs etc when people were more religious

The reason some Few 'religious' people sometimes perform molest especially in ISKCON is because new followers (majority) of followers at the time) weren't aware of the dangers of lust yet etc, and trusted people a bit too much in the boarding schools for example

  • furthermore spiritual growth requires many things including conquering lust, by refraining from sexual activity and therefore not succuming to sexual desire leaves a build up of sexual tension in the body, you need to do something to counteract it.

the best method is sincerely chanting hare krishna for spiritual growth, or other methods such as trying to avoid it by exercising at the gym etc

  • @sandihume But our bodies are developed to make us want to have sex, so the only way to stop it is to take hormones that stop our sexual organs working. In my opinion, people should have sex if they want to, as long as both partners enjoy it. It's telling people to go against their natural instincts that leads to situations such as the Catholic church.

  • Krishna is good.

    Prabhupada is good.

    Jesus is good.

    Paramahansa Yogananda is good.

Iskcon is just a human institution.

The world does not need more institutions.

  • It is just a unification of those who wish to take spiritual advancement. The association of Vaishnavas is vital, and ISKCON provides spiritual guidance.

  • I agree.

  • thx for sharing the documentary...Its awesome!..

  • very nicely done presentation thanks, Hare Krishna

  • Srila Prabhupada is a spiritual tree and his disciples are like fruits of that tree, if you say that his disciples cannot train others then you are not glorifying Srila Prabhupada at all. This is the parampara- from Fiji Islands where ISKCON is growing nicely

  • very good!! thank you for share with us hare krishna!!

  • very fair minded. cool.

  • good luck to you man...it's a good cause...

  • one may look upon the founder of the movement for siksa, not diksa. though there may be those unqualified, there also are those that are qualified and worthy to accpet diksa from.

  • nonsense, Prabhupada is NOT just some siksha guru. He is the Sole Diksha Guru of ISKCON he is not 'dead' , 'unavailable' Prabhupada never authorised anyone to become guru in ISKCON they are illegally SELF APPOINTED. Even Tamal addmitted it on tape when he was suspended;

"Actually Prabhupada never appointed any gurus. He appointed eleven ritviks. He never appointed them gurus.(Tamal Krishna Goswami, Pyramid House Confessions 1980)

  • great good luck to you

  • At 07:51 the devotee says that he wants to become more serious about Krsna consciousness and look for a spiritual master. So who has taught him what he knows so far? The answer is Srila Prabhupada (through his books & recordings). Therefore Srila Prabhupada is his spiritual master. Sadly iskCON Newcastle are not teaching him this, as they want him to become a slave of one of their 80+ BOGUS voted-in "Gurus".

  • Dave actually found a spiritual master as he went to stay in an ashram for a couple of years in California. Dave was aware of ISKONS view and sought his own path within the religion

  • cool .you are real. Hare Krishna

  • the lovely ladies..have i always beena fat bastard?

    and that irish?

  • yes
