@GalaxyKerudio i haven't tried the newer chassis yet, but out of the older ones, the tz/tz-x, vs, super-1 and super-x are the best chassis. The ms chassis is also good but the motors that can fit on it only go up to hyper dash, while for the other chassis you can get the best tamiya motors (jet and ultra dash).
There is no best part. It's how good your setup is and setups differ from one country's rule to another. Italian, Japanese, Philippine race are all different and require different setups.
@fordyrox ms chassis uses double shaft, but tamiya recently released some upgraded versions of the super-1 and super-x and those use the good ol' single shaft.
Nice case bearing system , I just found my super 1 chassis and my torque tuned engine that i encased in a standard motor casing {Make my car look standard but go as quick as a torque tuned lol } . I need a new wheel kit as well as the copper for the power switch . I just brought a plasma tuned engine for the super 1 and also brought a pro manta ray mk11 and upgraded to a atomic tuned engine . I cant find any wheel upgrade kits or parts except for engines here in New Zealand
hey just wondering, do the motors need any sort of capictors? because im buying a 'little takara tommy' and they use the same motors.. i want to upgrade the motor and these use the same motors.. i
we used to have a huge following in washington state.
them the hobby stores started to get diffrent products, and they started to switch to slot cars cause they would make more money off them(but they never got as many people (or as many family's together) for slot cars as TM4D)
Any1 live in northern California? I recently bought some for nostalgia since I used to play them when I lived in the Philippines. Now, my friends want to get into the hobby. I just got a home circuit to play on. My friends are buying their own cars. Nice...
ball bearing helps the wheel shafts to spin more freely by limiting the traction, used to race events back in the philippines with my max breaker and shadow breaker both were equiped with ball bearings everywhere lol and both were running rewinded plasmadash and panasonic rechargeable batteries
Exactly what does a Ball Bearing transmission entail? I only know that you can put Ball Bearings on the chassis areas that make contact with the drive shaft. Did you put them on the Prop shaft too??
That's awesome if you did. I also hope that the Mini 4WDs catch on again. I've got about 5 cars that I'm just itching to buy hop ups for and race with.
bpshirase, Tamiya actually had a worlds championship event for the mini4wd? When?
I hope mini4wds pick up again. In China, Italy and Philippines they are still pretty big, in some cities (shanghai, hong kong for china; pretty much anywhere in italy, and around manila in the philippines).
It isn't cheating. Even when Tamiya was holding the worlds, re engineering the chassis was allowed as long as it stayed within the maximum width and length. Most of the winning cars had they're desings made into hop-up parts for successive cars.
its a modification like any other, such as trimming the body to make a car lighter, or gluing frps to the chassis to make it stiffer. In italy, japan and usa, there is no rule against it.
Mini 4wd FTW!.. man i just wish it was so popular so that someone would actualy make a world championship for mini 4wd.. :( Btw i'm trying my best to Introduce mini 4wd to the world sop that they actually understand that its not a kids toy, Mini 4wd is one of the most amazing hobbies that u can think of.. Unfortnatly ppl think not :(
I remember when it was really big man. We used to Race in Tamiya America against winners from Tamiya Japan. ('97) but racing faded away locally as Tamiya America pushed RC more than Yonku. We had to fly to the Philippines to race.
If we'd put more videos of mini 4wd races in everyones country that would help alot to introduce it to the world, and sinmce japan is working on the new MS chassis and making new cars. so who knows prolly tamiya japan will support some international chamionship someday if they see alot of people racing mini 4wd.. so lets hope for the best ;)
LOL, I agree, fully agree, mini 4wd is not a kids toy, but unfortunatelly, a lot of "big guy" still thinking like that, and here in Indonesia there is some store, that make some small race. And if you have some times you can search for Auldey China Championship, it's good actually (but the rule is not as strict as Tamiya, they allowed you to used a modified motor, modified cap, and if I'm not wrong, they even allowed the contestant to used Auldey rechargeable battery)
Italy has its own national championship 'sponsored' by tamiya (they just hand out prizes, they don't help much with the organization). Japan has a very fun champinoship as well, i don't know if its national. But has really fast cars powered simply by atomic tuned motors. I will look up china, and i konw they have great 3 wheel races, and singapore and philipines are vey involved as well.

@onikuy modified type-0. It's the same as the super-1 but with a different nose because it's older. I like it because it's a little bit lighter.
