By the way, Lady Mendl was Elsie de Wolfe, the famous decorator who did head stands in her 80's, and the last lyric refers to Eleanor Roosevelt endorsing Simmons mattresses for a print ad in the thirties. Cole Porter - no one did it better!

Thank you so much. I couldn't figure out who she was because I was spelling her
name wrong. The first time I heard this song was in Evil Under the Sun and it was
just such a happy tune. I loved it. We were fortunate to see the musical play a few
years ago at our local Carpenter Theater (CSULB). Timeless, just timeless.
