@Alexander87oclock Listen, you're the fucking idiot who obviously cared that much that you felt the need to actually come back and respond to a simple little commet, if it really bothered you that much that i said i didn't like bach and beethoven, you honstly have no life.
@uButtuahnut You're a fucking idiot who obviously doesn't think too much before typing random nonsense on YouTube. If it weren't for Bach there would undoubtedly be no Mozart or Beethoven. Without Mozart or Beethoven there would be no Schubert,Liszt, Chopin, Tchaikovsky ect. THINK before you incoherently blabber gibberish.
I really agree with you. Ever since I was a child, I've hated Beethoven, his pieces, they are so cacophonous and bear such horribly rambling melodies that they hold no message or great emotion (other than that of a seizure). It is my own personal taste however, but the classical period is the most artless of periods in becoming so formulaic and dull. I think that the Baroque is perhaps the most impressive era.
This piece has a structure a bit similar to a theme with variations, of course I know very well it isn't. For this rare (and astonishingly well composed) work, the pianist doesn't do his best, particulary in some passages which require more clarity in the inner voices
@rvaughanwilliams1988 Yeah, that's the problem with the label "fantasy in G Minor". It raises the expectation that this key has actually some important role other than being the key of the first line. But it doesn't occur anywhere else in the entire piece at all. I think it's ridiculous to label this fantasy with G Minor, and when I first looked for this piece on Youtube, I wondered why it is known as "fantasy in G minor", before I realised that this is just the key of the first line...
One of my favorite solo piano pieces by Beeethoven. It is a pity that is so neglected, because it has a haunting noble theme. I like to hear it played by Rudolf Serkin. For me, it is the definitive performance.
@MrJorlop It is neglected because it is said to be one of his worse compositions. There is not even any structure within this piece, after all it is an improvisation which his friend asked him to write down.
This is a side of Beethoven I have never heard. I think it was very interesting (much different in the continuity when compared to his major piano works), and possibly close to what a real improvisation by the Master might have sounded like. Thanks for posting!
i thinks it's amazing, but its amazing cause it's different cause its more randome than other pieces that ive heard from beethoven. there is one criticisum though not towards the player but towards the composer, beethoven, sorry but i think the last bar of the piece ruins the settleing mood of the piece. it may be for sudden unexpetance but i dont like it, sorry hope this doesnt offend you.
but overall i think that its a very good piece of music, beethoven is a wonderful compser. =D
I think this sounds like one of the improvisations Beethoven would have pulled out of his hat if the occasion inspired him. It's a pastiche, and an interesting remnant of 19th century pianism.
What is life without BACH, Period. Well, some PinkFloyd and Ligeti thrown in. And this piece is, yes, totally underplayed and sooo very much LvB...

This changes key more often than I change my pants

I think it must be an improvisation, I want to believe it. Several patterns of improvisation style, Beethoven is always a surprise.

The harmony during the Allegreto is reminiscent of the slow movement of the Emperor Concerto.

The agitato section reminds me of Ballade no.4 by Chopin, Finale.

This was a transcribed version of one of beethovens actual concert improvisations, thats why its not quite so, well composed, as his other works.

This is very ... Dull, in most forms. Is not this the piece of music uncoverd by archeoligists in 2005?

interesting piece, but a pretty inaccurate performance, and too bad about the sound quality...

@GornallB Lol, I really doubt this offends Beethoven, seeing as he's been dead for about 200 years...
