My guess would be that it's because he's using one of the standard ESP signatures, instead of one of his personal guitars. The signature comes stock in standard tuning. I'm guessing they had one of those stock ones at the studio he recorded this at and they just gave it to him. Changing the tuning would be a pain in the ass, so he just played everything in standard. That's my theory, at least.

Open D? Are you stupid, children of bodom plays in D standard 1 step down(DGCFAD) which is what most of there songs are in except for a few, there in, D standard drop the D down to C (CGCFAD). Get your shit straight :o

I hope you all know most songs are in Open D. Only a few are in Drop C (with open D as the other strings, low E tuned down to C), and I don't think any are in standard.

Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper are in D standard, along with most of the songs on Hate Crew Death Roll (minus Sixpounder and Angels Don't Kill), THEN, with the release of Are You Dead Yet? and all albums after that, they switched to dropped C.
