Looked like the last year Bush was in office, the debt increased by about 1 trillion dollars , the year before that it increased by half a trillion dollars. Well that's very nice to know you have insurance you can afford and didn't get denied for having a genetic defect. I on the other hand can't afford it. Full time college student and part time work I barely have enough to afford food, rent, and bills so paying 800 a month doesn't really strike me as an option. As for taxes going up well even with the current reform I still get an extra eight dollars a week. Yes it would be better if people didn't make money off my health.

tamarlane, bush's debt was the avg. for debt over the last 40yrs, about 2.5% of gdp. bush inherited a recession that balloned unemployment to over 7% his tax cuts enabled the treasury to get an unprecedented for 5 yrs. more money than in any time in our history. the unemployment rate came down to under 5%. the dems like to spend and tax we see that now. any jobs they create we pay for.

Looked like the last year Bush was in office, the debt increased by about 1 trillion dollars , the year before that it increased by half a trillion dollars. In the first nine months of the Obama administration it increased by almost 2 trillion dollars

Keep in mind that a big chunk of the fiscal meltdown was accidentally engineered by Rand disciple Alan Greenspan, who's Rand beliefs can to fruition in his passionate defense of the tax cuts (unbalanced by spending cuts) de-regulation and most of all the monetary policy that kept pumping air (aka cheap money) into the housing balloon. @LucianUramu and you are wrong again there. In europe that may work fine for those who dont already have a choice, but we do like our own insurance, its the government mandated coverage for ridiculous coverages like sex change operations etc that run costs up. If the government ran the show, all your taxes would go way up- costing you more than you pay in insurance now, to cover all this crap let alone government is the most ineffiecient, wasteful entity by nature- sure it would be better...

Well that's very nice to know you have insurance you can afford and didn't get denied for having a genetic defect. I on the other hand can't afford it. Full time college student and part time work I barely have enough to afford food, rent, and bills so paying 800 a month doesn't really strike me as an option. As for taxes going up well even with the current reform I still get an extra eight dollars a week. Yes it would be better if people didn't make money off my health.
