Believe me, if you put passion in what you do, as mehryar is trying to say, you won't see the difference between D300s, D3000, 450D, 500D, or any other e-level DSLR.

P90 is a Point & Shoot camera, while D3000 is a DSLR (digital single lens reflex). There's a really big difference, even on an entry level.

the amount of megapixels on a camera does not matter that much, it is very overated infact. Thr cameras lens and image sensor, which give it the ability to see texture,color, and light is most important. The resolution is worthless and will look about half the amount of megapixels it actually is if the lens and sensor are bad. Because on a point and shoot like the p90, it cant recognizes as many colors, making what would be 25 pixels look like 1 pixel. The d3000 is much superior camera.

it's not by getting this semi-professional camera and thinking the camera's going to do all the work for you like some people are going to think with this...it's doing what me and 14 others in my class has done learn the proper lighting how to pose people and other stuff...which differentiates us from amaters who read up just a bit who gets a few notions and claims to be ''professional'' photographers

oh i see, so you are still in school. well, just an fyi, i started off with the canon rebel xs which is an amateur camera, i taught myself the lighting and posing, learned from mistakes and am now a paid photographer with a lot of clientele. some people just have a natural eye for it, and others may have to go to classes for it. you shouldnt be so spiteful toward people who are interesting in trying a new hobby.
