We have a "religion" class but it's optional today. Denmark is a Lutheran country (in theory. most people are not religious) so that's what we learned about in school but you don't have to take the class at all. A muslim (or whatever) probably wouldn't for example. ;)

Denmark isn't really all that religious as a country. I think like 85% of us are Lutheran but that just means we're too lazy to quit the "Den Danske Folkekirke" It wouldn't surprise me if less than 5% actually go to church. They should take the word marriage out of the law books altogether. Marriage is a religious term, it should not be a legal term. Any union, homosexual or heterosexual should be called a civil union and leave the term marriage up to each church denomination. Equal rights. Separation of Church and State. Problem solved. In California the educational standards do not involve marriage at all.
It does say:
"The California school system will teach children to respect different relationships of our society".
Notice "married couples" is not even there.

That's nice, but legalizing someones marriage doesn't mean it's going to get taught in schools, Unless the bill strictly mentions teaching it in schools, but it doesn't, period. Although you may be ignorant, your kids aren't. THEY know what a gay person is regardless of what you teach them, and they'll eventually know about gay marriage sooner or later. Your kids might even grown up to be gay regardless of what you teach them.

Well, I have been out of school for some years now. Hehe But we learned both of those things back then.
We have a "religion" class but it's optional today. Denmark is a Lutheran country (in theory. most people are not religious) so that's what we learned about in school but you don't have to take the class at all. A muslim (or whatever) probably wouldn't for example. ;)

Denmark isn't really all that religious as a country. I think like 85% of us are Lutheran but that just means we're too lazy to quit the "Den Danske Folkekirke" It wouldn't surprise me if less than 5% actually go to church. People don't judge you for not being religious here in general. It doesn't matter to the vast majority.
So no. The teachers don't lie or pretend. They're probably not into religion either. ;)

On the contrary, things like birth order and life situations which have much higher percentages of homosexuality suggest that perhaps no one is born gay. "Gay" might just be nurture, not nature. If nurture then there are not so many inherit rights which some key as being denied to them. That being said, I am definitely not a proponent of bad treatment toward homosexuals. I am just not sure that America should support Homosexuals in marriage. Civil unions may be a different matter though.

God created marriage for a man and a woman, then told them to be fruitful and multiply. Homosexuality is different than race and gender. Homosexuality is a LIFESTYLE, a person's race and gender is not. I didn't choose to be male/white and I cannot CHANGE that fact. However, when it comes to me being heterosexual, I choose to be that way. However, I also can change that - but I am not.
Homosexuals say that they are born like they are. My response is found in the Bible - 2 Corinthians 5:17. My response if your "born like that" - GET BORN-AGAIN.

Govt has no business issuing licenses for a religious institution. It cheapens it. When the nation was new, the govt did not issue them; but started doing it to prohibit certain races from intermarrying. It is a form of taxation. It is a way to track people and interfere in our personal lives. It doubles the size of the target for bill collectors. If people want to get married, let the churches sanction it, or let those involved do it privately. The insurance and legal industries will adapt.

They should take the word marriage out of the law books altogether. Marriage is a religious term, it should not be a legal term. Any union, homosexual or heterosexual should be called a civil union and leave the term marriage up to each church denomination. Equal rights. Separation of Church and State. Problem solved. Anyone who wouldn't like this solution would be unveiled as a bigot rather than someone who wants to "preserve marriage" because of religious purposes.

3) Many homosexuals have received treatment and counseling and have left that lifestyle behind, disproving your ideas.

It is the denominations' decisions to make about the subject. Denying homosexual couples the rights that heterosexuals enjoy is only wrong from a personal or religious standpoint.
