  • Hey man I've seen a lot of your videos and you're really sick. You've got great feel, Be careful though, your technique might lead to some problems later like arthritis. Try holding the stick further up and being a little looser in your grip. Check out Joe Morello, he's a great jazz drummer and after studying his technique it really helped out my drumming. Keep on playing!

  • @Awesmosis thanks so much, you're 100% right haha my mechanics are definitely holding me back, i've come to realize this more and more as i get older/play more. i've never had any lessons i just picked up the sticks and did what i could. at some point i hope to get some lessons but in the meantime i think checking some morello vids would be a good place to start. thanks for checking me out! drumon

  • Sounds good. Try adding some more ghost notes on the snare.

  • i have to play this for the stage band at school, and this helps heaps, i have notation for it and it's written in quarter notes... but the way you play it is the same as the record, i like this way more haha :) 5 stars :)

  • @nightshot999 excellent! i'm happy to help, its a great track

  • I'm not to sure who Freddie Hubbard is, But if it's the same Red CLay that i'm thinking of, was Herbie Hancock involved? And was it also used on A Tribe Called Quests "succka Nigga"??

  • @snakygibbon thats the one! freddie hubbard is the trumpet player, and yes it was used on the that tribe track. good ear!
