I like your thinking. But those people could never be TRULY happy, because, while they live in the lap of luxury, they will never find true happiness, because they have nothing to live for but themselves. And with no higher calling or greater destiny, well that's not really living at all.
It's comparable to standing with your nose to a brick wall, and only being able to move forward. You have no place to go.
@eight216 Yes, I have also pondered and inquired about this issue of "love" as well...and from what I have learned you're idea is not too far from what I have discerned to be true. As far as I have learned love is not so much "to do everything for someone and in return they do everything for you." But rather love is a complex equation where both people in the relationship feel that they get more out of the system than they put in. Each feels they're not trying too hard, but getting a lot out.
