  • Hello,

I was going to move my sites from one account to another account. I have backedup all databases and now my question is do i need to export Information_schema also or no?

One more question is it advisable to move one site after another or i can just move the contents of public_html at one time only since i have lot of sites. Thank you so much for your help.

  • @7means, Typically no, you don't have to export the schema, HOWEVER in my opinion you can never back up too much, including things you 'shouldn't' need. Yes, if you have many added on domains on your account which equate to many folders in your public_html folder that hold the website files, you can take a copy of the public_html folder and all other subfolders (websites) will follow. You'll of course have to add on these domains to the new account and point your domains. Hope this helps.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. Let me try it and if i have any questions i will comment again. Thanks

  • cool man thanks a lot

  • Thanks!

  • No not at the moment. But in your phpMyAdmin instead of using export, you would use import, find the file you previously downloaded, go to the bottom and hit "GO". This will bring in the contents. Your done! Make sure the database you are importing to is empty (i.e. no tables or anything). Your platform will then need to have this new databases information specified in the configuration file (whatever it may be for the platform you are using.).

    Hope this helps :)
