very nice cover of the Cochrane classic....Zep's was better though......of course... I saw them with 300 other people at a small theatre in 77' and they blew the roof off the place....Incredible energy live...UFO doesnt get the credit they deserve for adding density and dynamics to the basic framework of metal in the early days.....BUT.... to this day, MAIDEN opens every show with an audio recording of a UFO song before they hit the stage... Now thats respect....
UFO's first 3 albums are the hardest rocking and bluesiest of anything else they would do in the future, sad they never really explored music like they did in aforesaid time period. ;o)
yo thelowerider,u r so right bro great comments.have been a fan of ufo since 1971 and still love them.just saw them at bb kings nyc,an vinnie did a great job on his axe.alright bro take care and rock on.
These guys rocked, wish there were more of them today, I get tired of the same shit on classic rock staions, they okay the same hitlist that radio played then. UFO rocks.
The Stones wanted him but fancy pants prancing Mick was too scared to handle that talent on stage with him, you take the rest, the greatest brit rock vocalist and more talented than any single UK rocker, Just like UFO and too many others, these type of raw rock n roll bands were underatied and not given the airplay to the typical "greats" received so they did not get the commercial success or the MONEY!
Its not a bad cover, sounds like UFO doing an Eddie Cochron song, like its supposed. Is there some list of rules on doing covers, stay true to the original? F**k, this is rock n roll, we dont need no steenkin' rules, as far as this making Humble pie's version sound good comment a while back, shit, Robert Plant wanted to be like the Great Steve Marriot", did not, and does not have the vocal range of Marriot
Its 1975/76 Roundhouse I believe. Danny Peyronnel, ex Heavy Metal Kids (now back with them) is on keyboards. Excellent video from the History of with Schenker DVD.
TRADITIONAL SHOW CLOSER FOR UFO. Great Eddie Cochrane classic, UFO respects the musical integrity of the composition, but makes the song their own, adding energy and dynamic-range intensity, the unwritten rule of cover performance. They also did a killer cover of Cochrane's "Something Else" with Paul Chapman on guitar on either "No Place to Run" or "The Wild, The Willing and The Innocent", can't remember off the top of my head. By the way those are two killer records despite the departure of MS!

@aaronsg71 Don't know if this is the only song you've heard by them. I think UFO was great, but think Humble Pie's cover was much better. IMO.

the ufo reminds me Lynyrd Skynyrd. not the musical style, but the animation of the band ... I liked it very much

Zep did it best because they stayed true to Cochran's version.Love this band.

Very nice! Saw them open for Blackmore's Rainbow in Pittsburgh in '76. Great show.
Nice version of this song, while taking liberties with the lyric a bit.
