  • Love those Cartwrights(and those Chevys!)

  • Obviously people recognize a comment about "hunting falcons and thunderbirds" as competing with Ford. Landon's remark about cardinals being extinct refers to the Ford Cardinal, which the company decided not to offer, three months before U.S. production was to start. The tooling was sent overseas and the vehicle produced as a German Ford. It would have been the first U.S. car with a V-4 engine and the first since the 1930's Cord with front wheel drive.

  • I don't recall the show ever being in black and white. I thought part of the pitch for the show required that it be shown in color.

  • Pernell Roberts se ve muy incómodo en este anuncio. Por razones como esta dejó la serie.

  • I don't know why Pernell Roberts was trying to duck out of this ad. I guess he was the most temperamental out of the cast anyway. Lorne and Dan look like they don't mind in the least and Michael is going along with it. But Pernell looks like he wants to dig a hole here.

  • I love Bonanza, but oh woe was Pernell. Things could have been so much better for him than his having to suffer through a short plug for the people who basically paid his considerable salary and helped make him a star. l picture how much better he'd have had it as, oh I don't know, a waiter, file clerk, construction worker, trash collector, forklift driver, bank teller. I feel so bad for him.

  • Poor Poor Poor Pernell, but I had to chuckle anyway !!! You can so tell he hated this and was embarrassed!!! Sorry Pernell honey but it's much too funny you brought more attention to yourself by your actions in this. Love you though. kiss, kiss Pernell. R,I.P All my Cartwright Cowboys

  • Any one know what episode the 0:30-0:32 is called??

  • Man, I miss this show. I wish I had followed Pernell Roberts' career more closely. I didn't realize he was the Trapper John in Trapper John, MD.

    R.I.P.

  • R.I.P Pernell May 18, 1928 to January 24, 2010

  • Splendid! What else can one say?

  • Without violence!

Did you see Dan Blocker drop his gun and head down like "HOW CAN YOU REASON WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS!"

  • OMG! Where did you find this?!

  • Pernell Roberts looks like he is physical pain being forced into doing this commericial. But maybe he popped a couple of Ecotrin afterwards and felt better.

  • Notice Pernell Roberts doesn't utter a word, and hangs kind of low amid his two other co-stars. He was probably terribly embarrassed to be associated with this.

  • Oh, he hated being in this. Couldn't be more clear.

  • @johnorydupont Actors know who pays the bills. Pernell introduced the 1965 Corvette in the big Chevy commercial they did every year. Just take a look the "Chevrolet Commercial of 1965" in the suggested videos.

  • Nice! ^^

  • My grandmother had a '62 Bel Air, very cool car.

  • They are tearing up Lake Tahoe for condos. Save Bonanza Ponderosa land '08.

  • I'll bet those condos are on hold now!!

  • They already tore down the Ponderosa Ranch House to make ay for condos.

  • @TheFrogger15 oh no i can't belive it. i wanted to go visit one day

  • The optical frames are back in style. Coool cars.

  • When I'm an old man dying in hospice I hope they let me just watch Bonanza and other tv westerns all day! I'll go with a smile on my face.

  • i remember Bonanza being shown commercial free, just so the boys and their TV dad could show the new Chevy line-up in the last ten minutes of the hour. they would do this on set and in costume.

  • Get a horse.

  • Cartwheels

  • Chevrolet began sponsoring "BONANZA" after Dinah Shore discontinued her "CHEVY SHOW" on Sundays, in the fall of 1961. It was a long, fruitful partnership for both General Motors and the show, as demonstrated in the 1962 promotional clips seen here.
