  • you did very wel reading wat was on the sheet of music but you didnt put a whole lot of emotion into it. i played this piece last year for solo and ensemble and i got a superior. you have to put emotion into music when you play because anyone can play wats written after a little practice but its the emotion that turns a good piece into an absolutly amazing piece

  • I did this piece my freshman year and got a 1 on my performance. I shocked everyone cuz they didn't think a girl could do so well.

  • needs to work on technique and musicality.

  • some tone problems and not much for dynamics but over all, an 8 out of 10

  • i'm in 8th grade playing this for Chamber Music Festival

  • @jozzie08 I agree. Its sorta, even with the dynamics, monotone. And he sounds okay, but his tone sounds a little flat, airy and weakish. Play with air and a full sound. Itll sound 1000000x better if you dont sound like youre afraid for anyone to hear you mess up. Play full, no matter the register, and youll kill this song.

  • I might be doing this piece for my grade 10 exam.

  • I got a 90 on my performance. :)

  • Im playing this piece for the United States Marine Corps band audition. Just remember, this is an awesome piece, just think of a goal that you've worked for what feels like a million years, and when you finally got it. Thats the feel that you should have. Keep working and playing and all will go good.

  • i think that you need a better feel to it, it feels to rigid when you play it

  • you should work on your articulation. in this song its absolutely awful

  • I'm doing this piece this year for my freshman year. It's so difficult I would love some tips!

  • You have notes and rhythms, but to me, it lacks feel. It seems a little disconnected and it should flow a lot more.

  • Nice job. But, one hallmark of Baroque music is stark dynamic changes. Also, the parts that should flow are, well, not flowing. Also sounds like a shallow piece for this kind of work. Study tuning tendencies throughout the instrument.

  • good shit, keep playing!

  • I tryed this as a freshman and just couldnt do it.. Here i am as a sophomore getting ready to go to state Solo & Ensamble for it :) .. takes about a month of 15 mins a day depending on your skill level to learn it sufficiently..

  • I'm debating on doing this song for my ATSSB Solo this year. I'm a freshman, and It is a refreshing change from the solos I was able to choose from last year in Jr High. >.> Its between this and Allegro by Vivaldi.

  • I chose this one.

  • good job! i love this!

im doin this for my senior concerto!

im working on it now though..& im still a junior

  • This is lovely ! ^^

Does anyone know what RCM grade this is?

  • quit pressing and move that pinky back on the rest. and finish strong.

  • missed articulation throughout piece and very poky and strained sounding. almost like he was cramming in some practice right before he went on stage. open up, put some air behind it, and fill up the room with sound!

interesting take on the jazz variation. definitely original, but does it really fit into a baroque trumpet piece??

  • Im playing this year at solo contest

  • This is wonderful! What a touch of class on the concert stage.

  • Haha...Jazzy. Nice.

How long did it take you to learn it cleanly? I just found this in my dad's old box o' music from his high school days and I might want to use this piece for my recital etc.

  • This is awesome. I played this last year and loved it. And the jazz variation is pretty tight. :)

  • loving the jazz variazoni =)
