Coal is ancient technology. yeah nuclear has it`s benis but it isn`t and never will be safe. Solar, hydro and wind are practically free energies with zero waste and emissions. It makes no sense to continue other beyond the use of plastics and lubricants. Coal and nuclear energy is just make work programs at everyone`s risk. The ammount of deisel used to move a load of coal to a plant is enormous! Let alone the road safety hazards. Trucking coal is not safe.

Coal is how America gets most of its electricity. Western civilization is nothing without it. We owe our entire standard of living to coal. I wish we could find an alternative source of energy, but destruction is always a side product of energy creation. I might add that coal burning is much cleaner than it was 30+ years ago. I would also like to add that coal miners get paid a shitload of money, so please don't feel sorry for them. The average coal mining salary in WV is $64,000/yr.
