  • thank you for the wonderful song. My wife loves this song so much, we even recorded together and uploaded the video :).

it never occured to me that the singer was the very same person who sang "Unchained Melody"

  • This song says it all ~ He . . . . is my everything !!! Thank u for sharing this great song!

  • Outstanding

  • I remember my mother singing this song in church. She had the most beautiful voice. I had never heard this song before until I heard her singing it. The last time I remember her singing it, (before she became ill and passed away), she was cooking and singing. I will never forget this song, because it was the prettiest sounding song I ever heard her sing.

  • I have always loved this song-what a great voice as well.

  • Terrific song & meaning!!

  • @chauffeurme No rapture today huh? :( How does it feel that you wasted your life?

  • Thanks for this. It is one of my favorite recordings..

  • There are no more like this.

  • Thank you You Tube. Now I can hear all the wonderful songs from my high school years. Very inspirational. You can just close your eyes, lister to the words and just say Thank you Lord.

  • OH YES!!!! HE can do ALL things... just be still and listen!

  • My dad would play this on piano and my sister sang it. For years I didn't know the name of it. Growing up, whenever I wanted to hear it, I'd say daddy play the pretty song for me and he'd give me that look that all dad's have that asked which one and I'm hum it and then he'd play it for me. This is beautiful, but my dad interpreted the instrumental differently and I'll always love my dad's version more. Arthritis won't let my dad play as much, but occasionally he'll bless me with this song.

  • Thank you very much!

  • simply . . . .TIMELESS ! ! !

  • this is as old as i am

  • @stingo492

Consider you lucky in knowing how to use the computer. Many people your age don't even know how to turn it on... Let alone leave a comment on the internet.

  • @GaaraBabyEater i guess that comment just shows your ignorance

  • @stingo492

My grandparents from both sides of my family don't know how to use a computer. Their siblings don't know how to use a computer, most of their friends don't know how to use a computer. Most of the people from my church (who are over the age of 5o) don't know how to use a computer.

I am normally with older people. As in, somebody who are 5o-79. I only stated that you are lucky on knowing how to use a computer. I wish my grandparents could use one.

  • @stingo492 most ppl of my age in aus have better computer skills than i have.

  • Please accept this correction in the right spirit, because I don't mean to be rude. The peak number is correct, but the year was 1955. As a footnote, I don't believe you'll find one Gospel recording on the pop charts these days...

  • He is the true faithful and merciful One!

  • I remember this song from the 1950's, when we had a 78 of it. How popular music has changed so much!

  • Perfect song for this Resurrection Sunday. Thank You Almighty Father for sending Your Son to forgive my sins... AND then give me the Holy Spirit to help me in this life AND for the promise of eternal life yet to come. Thank YOU!

  • An incredibly moving song! I'd like it sung at my funeral.

  • 03/15/11 THERE ARE NO SINGERS TODAY WHO CAN COMPARE WITH THESE HEAVENLY VOICES FROM YESTERDAY. THANKS FOR POSTING. THESE BEAUTIFUL SONGS BRING BACK SO MANY WONDERFUL TIMES WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT CAN NEVER BE DUPLICATED WITH THE MUSIC OF TODAY. roselli

  • I remember finding this on one of my mother's 78 albums when I was 8 years old. It made a huge impact then, more than 50 years ago, and again a couple years ago when I happened to hear it on a XM oldies station. No one can beat Al Hibbler's version! Thanks for sharing!

  • So sad to say that the man wrote this song has passed away today. John Richards a great man and good friend!

  • touching, uplifting, a blessing.

  • amen what a song :)

  • Just brilliant. Thanks for the chance to hear this again.

  • i love this song....it's been about 8 mths since my Dad passed away...i sure miss him so! He loved singing and this is one song he loved to sing

  • This is probably the best thing he ever did.

  • Marvelous song, and sung very well. The message means nothing to me, but the song and performer is 100% on the money..

  • This song brings back memories. It was one of my mother's favorite. I use to hear her sing along with it in the early 50s. I was about 4 or 5. She passed on two years ago at the age of 93.

  • @sacofwoe Thank you for sharing that with us. May ypur mother rest in peace.

  • we never know when He will work His wonders.....

  • A powerful voice to sing a powerful song with a powerful message. To feel it is to experience it and cherish it. Thank you for posting this wonderful, inspirational song. ( Brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. )

  • almost makes you wish you were blind. thanx ray charles, stevie wonder, and al hibbler. no one sings this song like hibbler. any questions?

  • my dad loved this song..and it makes me think of him...he could sing this song so beautifully

  • he is not mad at his haitian children,as that pharasee robertson would have them believe, maybe we need to be reminded that we are all brothers,

  • iT'S ME AGAIN, WITH SO MUCH ADMIRATION FOR AL HIBLER

  • please let me know where to download this song

  • Will always be a song that makes one think and count your blessings.

  • This song is as great now as it was 50 years ago. But, I wonder where are the Hibblers, Prysocks, Eckstines and Charleses of today.

  • when u find them PLEASE! let me know.

  • @shippm I will be very happy to let you know IF I ever do find that kind of talent anywhere!

  • @BrickPa 07/23/10 I HEARTILY AGREE WITH YOU. TO DAYS SINGERS AND ENTERTAINERS ARE IN IT FOR JUST THE MONEY AND ADULATION. roselli

  • @BrickPa I am afraid we do not produce those great voices and styles anymore. it's unfortunate, but young people decide what type of music is produced. They do not "demand" the great voices.

  • He keeps watch all through each long and lonely night

He still finds the time to hear a child's first prayer

Saint or sinner calls and always finds him there

Though it makes him sad to see the way we live

    He'll always say "I forgive"

He can touch a tree and turn the leaves to gold

He knows every lie that you and I have told

Though it makes him sad to see the way we live

    He'll always say "I forgive"

    He forgives

  • He can turn the tides and calm the angry sea

He alone decides who writes a symphony

He lights ev'ry star that makes the darkness bright

  • Very nice!

  • Thanks so much for this beautiful voice and son g!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A beautiful sang song and video

  • Beautiful song and video! Thank You and God be with you!
