  • molana was a mollah but after he met shams he said i am not muslim i am not christian i am not from the sea i am not from the mountains i am nothing and everything, and his books are writen on persian he is iranian

  • The name of this guy Fethullah Gulen is not suit to the subject of Mevlana. What he does like opening schools in different places around the world is not the same thing as Mevlana does. I believe this video is created by his followers. I did not like the idea of Mevlana and Fethullah Gulen is together in the same sentence or video...

  • Rumi was a reformer, come come whoever you are, i invite all of you to understand that great human.

  • Mevlana is a Muslim.

    I know that.

  • fazlakurcalama fazla kaşınma.

    alperenler her yerde

  • saruwc yeah right.

    Greetings from Turkey

  • fetullah gulen has nothing to do with love!

  • If you truly undrestand Rumi you will see he was a Jew,a Muslim,A christan,an atheist and a nd Buda.He was all and he was none!He did belive in God but he says God is YOu and Me and all in the creation.Does it realy matter if he was a Turk or an Iranian?Whats important is that he was.And we all can be!

  • Every body should read the Sufi Great Poets of all time Rumi, Hafez, Saddi, Attar, Omar Khayyam and also the Qur'an, because these men were inspired by Islam. As well the Zen poets like Basho, Ryokan, Buson and Kobayashi Issa. Beauty and Humanism are the "essence of being" of these great thinkers and poets.

  • he babo he :D izleyin bakın kültürlerimizi geleneklerimizi adam olun :D

  • I can see this fight of whether Rumi is a Persian or Turk. As far as I know he is the pride of Tajik people. It is not impossible that he might have Turkic blood since he was born in Afghanistan. You can see in Afghanistan now, some people look like Indians, some like Mongols, some like Iranians and some even like Caucasians from Europe. The place where he was born in, Balkh is a crossroad. Even in Turkey today, no one is a true Turk. Each Turk can traced back his roots from elsewhere.

  • Our friends should be reminded that although Rumi's poems are written in Farsi, there wasn't any borders the way we see today to define his nationality. People could go from one place to another and live there. Rumi belongs to no nation because there wasn't any defined nation but people from differnt tribes. Rumi belong to entire human civilization. To understand him better we can read his poems. He is talking about human beings in general. I am an atheist and Secularist but I respect him.

  • No fazlakurcalama!

That is not true he's a good soul and a great muslim and a guide for us muslims to live now in that "ahir" time!

    You should read his works!

    Veselaam!

  • Fettullah Gulen is not a Missioner like Mevlana or Yunus Emre.. He's really dangeorus people for us. He has lots of anti-secular actions in Turkey. Mevlana and Yunus Emre are great people for humanism. You should read Mesnevi..

  • Mahsallah

  • An Afghani friend told me Rumi was Afghani from Balkh.

  • He was born in same village where I'm from... (Actualy ME I was born in that village where he is from) It's called Balkh (Bactria in english) and i'm proud of it. Mavlana belongs to whole around the world, not just Afghanistan, Iran or Turkey...etc

The house where he was born is under reconstruction by turkish gov. coz it was destroyed during afghan civil wars...

  • trying to stuck Rumi to a ethnic origin would just be stupid.

he always taught to be one as humans

    Come, come, whoever you are,

    Wanderer, idolater, worshiper of fire,

Come even though you have broken your vows a thousand times,

    Come, and come yet again.

Ours is not a caravan of despair.

  • Mevlana Celâleddin-i Rûmi says that:

    Bigâne megrit mera ezin kûyem

Der kûyi şûma hane-i hud micûyem

Düşman neyem ez çend ki düşmen ruyem

    Aslen Türkest eğerçi Hindû gûyem

I hope that will finish the discussion about Mevlana's nationality.

  • He is a Great Turk

  • proud to be a persian, cuz molana Balkhi Rumi is a persian

  • Come, come, whoever you are,

    Wanderer, idolater, worshiper of fire,

Come even though you have broken your vows a thousand times,

    Come, and come yet again.

Ours is not a caravan of despair.

  • This really is a beautiful ...thanks for the upload :) Mavlana Jalaluddin Balkhi Rumi(September 30, 1207--December 17, 1273)was born in Balkh (then a city of Greater Khorasan in Persia, now part of Afghanistan) and died in Konya (in present-day Turkey). His birthplace and native language/local dialogue indicates a Persian heritage.

  • yeah. when great khorasan was invaded by mongols hazaras he deserted to turkia. he did not liked himself to be called himself khorasani. what a great person. he is known as maulana rumi or maulana Afghani. he was turk. his follower costume and dance represent turk culture. similar costume and dance still known as afghan as khattak dance

  • Wasn't "Rumi" originally from Afghanistan? Or was that considered Horosan back then? He ended up in Turkey, according to history, but is not from there. Interesting, anyway, he was human, great and Muslim, much respect from me.

  • he was true Afghan and Afghan is sub race of Turks sp all is same.

  • good job keep going..

  • I think it's not important whether Jelaludin Rumi is a Turk or a Persian.Rumi is a Tajik (Persian) and I would say that the Turkish government is kind enough not to disregard him for not having a Turkish background. Rumi was living under the Turkic Seljuk rule. Shams, his spiritual friend is from Tabriz. As we know Tabriz is part of Azerbaijan region in Iran. But Persian was the medium used at that time for one's works to be recognised in Central Asia, especially in literature.

  • Rumi was not Tajik but Afghan Turk

  • thank you very much for this video!

  • Look, Turks were came from Horosan, and Mevlana,Yunus Emre,Hacı Bektas-i Veli came from Horosan too, Horosan is the city which Turks stay before came to Anatolia, This is clear,

  • Wonderful I love Mevlana he knew the truth and is a saint in my opinion, this video was very informative. The Sufis to me are wonderful spiritual people. I am not a muslim but I have the deepest respect and love for Mevlana. 5 stars excellent video.

  • oo mevlana wasnt persian..we turks built countries on the iran..our culture looks like each other..mevlana lived in konya city(turkey)..he come from horasan..no problem we r brother with u..

  • correct he was turk. persians lie. they have habbit to do that

  • Thus don't try to say he was a turk because it is ridiculous.

  • Molavi was Persian. Nowadays the Turkish try to introduce him as a Turk but they can not show even one line from him in Turkish. He was also not Arab because he was born in Balkh which is far away from Arabic world. Besides the most important work of him is in Persian (masnavi) and he was also a follower of Shams who was from Tabriz.

  • Sag elimi kaldirdim...Sol elimi indirdim...Dilim kalbe daldirdim...Dondum MEVLANA gibi...

  • nice working,i put it to my blog, thanks

  • mevlana, was an iranian, its simple,.....,99% of his work is in PERSIAN,yeah,...,its not a rocket science, 1% is in arabic or whatever,....

afghanistan was part of the iran, at the time they were,.....now, afghanistan , iran, tajikistan, we r all one country, Aryana or greater iran,....

  • The Prophet sallah Allahau 'alayhi wassalam said in the authentic hadeeth: there will be people from my ummah who will make alcohol, fornication, music, and gambling halal. This video is proof of that hadeeth ALLAAHU AKBAR, may Allaah protect this ummah from these misguided dizzy dancers.

  • lovely

  • Shaykh Muhammed Jalaluddin Rumi was a scholar in hanafi fiqh-a school of islamic jurisprudence. He practised Islam. So anyone who says he was not muslim is mistaken.

  • those who takfir everyone should be careful and worry about their account.Allah swt is alone Judge.Shaykh Rumi was not only authentic Alim but spiritually blessed and awaken lover of ALLAH.Whos message of love is as fresh after many centuries as was at his time.every true muslim is proud of him. His masnavi is a master peace of shariah and haqiqa.may Allah bless his soul.

  • Interesting that all the Great 3 Sufi masters are Persians. Even Rumi born in Persian in the Balkh region and Sa'adi etc I just wonder why Turks never mention Rumi being and Iranian!

  • danbagheri, mevlana was not a persian, he came from horasan to konya, but he was a turkmen turk...Not all people in iran are persians...He wrote in persian and arabic...SO go and read books...

  • Some correction, The teaching of Prophet (PBUH) shall not be use for others people name. Badiozaman Nursi is mujahiden. Nursi cant be compare to others. But can be compare to Salahudin AlAyubi. But others baggage SUFI is coward!.

  • Please come in, my self,

there's no place in this house for two.

  • This culture from anatolia-türkiye...can turks have been genosite ??...

  • can someone who knows spell out the person mentioned at the end, please? The sound is distorted to someone who doesn't have an ear for foreign names. I understood something like Fetah Gulan?

    thank you

  • Mevlana ne alevisi ne sünnisi, aşığın takımı mı olur?

  • Rumi is great, but this video is too much propaganda, Turkish propaganda, and remeber that Rumi was born in Afghanistan.

He got the appellation 'Rumi' when he moved to Seljuk Turkish controlled Anatolia, a region formely part of the Roman Empire...

  • When you see the USA documentary or the documentary from Greece and the Orthodox Curch, you can see real propaganda. This is normal docu and Mevlana was a Afgan Turk. You know good things but not 100% ly.

  • Cok güzel olmus

  • Hey be nice my friend!! Remember Tolerance Anger is evil!!You get more honey with sweet ;)
