The thing that worries me is the amount of spoilt votes.

Tens of thousands in all voting areas.

In the Scotish elections there where 140,000 spoilt votes.

Is it just me or do I smell a rat here!

As great as the results were for UKIP in these elections I do not see any of UKIP's political intiatives coming true until they win a significant number of seats in the House of Commons.

Has there been any further news on the deformation of democracy in The Home of Democracy on the 4th of June? Remember the issue mentioned on this clip? With the ballot papers being sent away to be 'commercially hot folded', accidentally taking away thousands of voters rights to vote UKIP, against electoral commission advice? This is a big, big issue in my opinion and needs bringing to the forefront of debate.

This is the type of interview that should be prime time tv. Politics should be prime time tv. Economics and business should be prime time tv. There were many economist that have predicted the crisis. Not this government spint that no one could see it coming. Hundreds predicted it and all the predictors out there have said the green shoots are bull and only a bounce.

All the other parties got fewer votes, therefore making the BNP's percentage share of the vote higher, even though they received slightly fewer votes.

Yeah, the BNP lost voters, but the main parties in Yorkshire and the Humber and the North-West lost EVEN more.

where is this view that the BNP won fewer votes coming from??

in the euro elections in 2004 they won 808,000 votes, this time they won 943,000. so i'm sorry they gained votes, not a good thing in my view and a dark day for British democracy.

But yes it was the media who hyped them up, remember they only hold 0.2% of councillers, no MP's and 2 out of 72 UK MEP's, and 2 out of 750 european MEP's. There is a danger of overtalking this little nutty party

One of the untold stories is that in a couple of areas UKIP narrowly missed out by a few votes in gaining 2 MEPs which would have brought our total to 15.

Way to go UKIP. Its share of the vote keeps growing and growing. They cant say this is a fringe party anymore because of this election.

If you want to know about where the BNP is coming from look up their motto "For Race and Nation" on a good search engine and see that the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) uses that phrase too. I saw a video of Nick Griffin speaking in front of a flag with that Phrase on it. They march in parades with that. There you have it the proof. UKIP is non racist and non Sectarian.

Info regarding ballot papers. They were folded in the Scarisbrick Parish of West Lancashire District but to an extent that we couldn't find UKIP.

You know, there was plenty to distract us from the real subject here in Portugal. It seemed like local elections where candidates were insulting each other. Most times the TV and newspapers were full of money scandals with banks, our prime minister with the freeport and others, and so on..
