The only thing I remember about the Carter administration is eating government cheese all the time. My dad left my mom and I when I was about 5 years and she had to stand in line for government cheese and peanut butter. The grilled cheese sandwiches were horrid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well, seems like happy times are back again:)
President Carter got the peace prize too. You know Obama was nominated for the Nobel Peace prize twelve days after taking office. Upon acceptance of winning it, Obama was praised by the committee, "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy". . They also gave the peace prize to Yasser Arafat, the leader of the PLO, the best known terrorist organization on the globe. This is like giving it to David Duke, the former Grand Wizard of the KKK.
Carter was absolutely right about Obama. He's not the worst person in the world, but he just doesn't have the substance needed to fullfil his office properly. He's weak!
Like Antonio Salieri (Amadeus) Jimmy Carter is living a long time, forced by God to watch himself become irrelevant. He is forced by god to live so long to see what a joke he has become and what a buffoon he will be regarded as by historians everywhere

President Carter was a good man to his family, a terrible U.S. president, a fortune for his wife, a disgrace to the Western World.
Thank God then came the Great President Reagan, fortunately for America and in Europe. Viva Grand President Reagan, which restored the pride and grandeur to the United States and the Free World
Get real. I'm sure even he would be arrogant enough to believe that. If they have peace it is because they choose to, not because Carter brought it. Much of the mess that exists in the middle east is directly related to Carter. He failed and people will remember.
When anyone attacks a U.S. embassy, it is an invasion of U.S. territory and an act of war. President Carter had an obligation to respond accordingly. If he had put down that regime, it would have saved many lives. That single lack of action inspired many of our enemies for decades. By the way, he is not the only president to fail in this regard. It's not a dem thing either. Each president in modern history has made mistakes in this area but some have longer lasting consequences.
are you clueless..when the mess in iran happened, US had just come out of a long war of vietnam, which didnot go well for us, and you expected carter to go into another war? just look what happend in iraq - US now cannot afford a war - we are in massive debt. Useless wars have banrupted our economy
Are you clueless? Americans were disappointed with Carter for his failure to be commander in chief. He paid for it. Reagan was elected and the hostages freed while he was being sworn in. Why do you think that is? By the way, Iran of '79 was not the Iran of today. This would not have been a 'Nam.
LOl...Iran is six times the size of vietnam, iran had a very strong army at that time..and you are saying iran would not have been a "Nam"....Iran wanted to embarrass Carter so they did. The covert military mission to free the hostages that Pres Carter order failed - perhaps due to Iranian luck. Carter is a good guy, who speaks the truth, since he is in the part of life, where he doesn't gives a shit and has nothing to lose.
Carter is an idiot. Iran was weak. Carter failed and is delusional enough to think he made the right decision. They Iranians didn't seem too brave with Reagan. Remember Carter was "a chicken with his head cut off". He will always be remember as a fool.
LOL..so by your same arguement, Reagan was an idiot too. He should have perceived the problem and attacked Iran? no he decided to support Saddam Hussein against Iran..very bright..lol. Well its all could have, should have, would have. In the present Carter is right, America cannot afford wars anymore due to our pathetic economic conditions, which by the was created by the idiot of the century GW Bush, who royally screwed america and brought her to this unfortunate state
ha ha...Carter is a human being, and W is the dumbest asshole alive, W fucked America. BTW Reagen supported the terrorist, who were then called mujahdeens fighting against aghanistan....LOL..GOP is a joke! bunch of lying filthy scumb losers!
Wow. Are you still doing the Democrats vs. Republicans game? You're a fucken idiot. They both screw us. They take turns pissing off the other side. The end result is that we all lose freedom to the assholes in D.C. Pull your head out.
You are the one who admires W, even true Republicans don't admire W. W fucked America. He was suppose to find Bin Laden, instead he attacked Iraq probably for OIL. Then fucked the economy through unecessary wars and the housing mess, making average working class american poor and his buddies in Wall Street Rich. What he did is probably not fixable and you admire the Jackass.
With every response you seem more like an idiot. You're one of those people who can't get past Bush. He must have really intimidated you. Don't be scared. He's gone now. Everything is going to be alright. Go to a happy place.
On FOX11 tonight, Carter was preaching about Obama shouln't be president because of his color. How could Obama NOT think it's that? He knew the conditions to be up against. This country is STILL going down either way, so maybe we could've had McSame.
Chomsky has claimed that actually Nixon was the last liberal president of USA. It might be true that Obama is not as liberal as Nixon.
And what about Reagan? Conservative? Perhaps. But he was also very eager socialist. At least people of weapon industry remember it well. And Bush jr. made some very interesting socialism action (especially in 2008)
peanut brain jimbo---do the world a favor and shoot yourself...........you suck hairy balls....i have a 200 $ bottle of my finest-------when u die,,,,im gonna toast a whole bottle to your miserable life,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I think it is so hilarious when Carter passes judgement on anyone lets face the facts Carter was a disaster but still he feels like he did something right of course he brings up Egypt and Isreal which any sane person knows that its not peace its pribes.
I do not know why American people are so stupid that let their government hijack by Jews and American government become a puppet of Israel u can see each person who chosen to run for office first come to the congress and take the ought of loyalty to Israel what a great country whose government run by Israel (proxy of Israel) LOL
Jimmy Carter's presidency is what ultimately shows that liberalism fails! And somehow we just elected someone just like him! Guess Jimmy Carter's back in office, only in different form. Hell FDR started liberalism and his actions to stop the GD showed how it failed too. Spent too much, prolonged it. Taxed to be able to afford programs, prolonged it. Social Security's a good program yes but that isn't liberalism its a program that both parties use. Point is Carter shows liberalism phails
Bullshit. The biggest failure of Carter's administration had NOTHING to do with liberalism. His downfall was in the arena of foreign policy. Economics were bad during Ford, Carter and early Regan years. In fact, the economy was doing well during Reagan's own re-election. Tell me conservative thought did for ME these last eight years. NOTHING. Kept me safe? HAHAHA.
No, Carter's downfall was both during carter! Are you serious??? We had 21% inflation, extremely high interest rates, 70% tax rates (top wise but not much lower for other classes), 14% unemployment, and gas shortages. That sound like economic goodness to you? Because your basically saying the economy was no factor in Carter's giant loss to Ronald Reagan in 1980. The economy was bad for only a year and a half of Reagan, and Ford cut inflation in half in his term with his policies too btw
Coolioman07: I don't understand how your comments contradict what I'm saying. They are implicit when I said "economic were bad during Ford, Carter and early Reagan." You didn't actually dispute that. I did not say OR imply "economic goodness." Read more closely next time, pal.
Look at this goofball ... Jimmy Carter .. his memoirs should be titled "PROFILES IN COWARDICE - an American Disgrace - the Iran Contra Affair - 444 days of Peanut Boy hiding under the rug"
Go and (love to say fuck yourself) get educated-- freaking ass..
Your fing Gearge W.. Fucked this nation, robbed this nation, killed 1Million Iraqi innocent people, brook every fucking rule in this country, raped our constitution and International LAWs---- and now you fucking freak are complaining about this OLD Man Fucking Shame On you Pimps.
the conservatives are so desperate to make carter into the piece of shit that was Nixon's presidency that we liberals so generously forgave you fucks for. sorry, we've got FDR, you've got Nixon, deal with it.
how could some people so dumb and still not understand anything. there are people who learn from other peoples mistakes, some who learn from there own mistakes, and the bush lovers who dont ever learn regardless of whose mistake. if you dont like Jimmy Carter, then you are from the last category.... brighten up.
Carter was the worst president we ever had. Obama might be right up there. Before Carter if my car broke down I shot it and bought a new one, After Cartewr the wife had to wrk to help make ends meet.
i dont wanna get on about how Carter was during his presidency, my overall point on this matter is that Carter is much more dependable when it comes to ending wars and bringing up peace. he made it very clear where the problems are and how to deal with them. its just that people are just ignoring that facts and follow CNN. he wants Peace and end the war, anything wrong with that? if you think so then it takes us to my previous post.
Peace is great, but when you force a nation to give up land payed for the blood of her solders, And the other side is still lobbing rockets, sending suicide bombers, that is not peace.
who was the blood paid to? who did they buy the land from? who is the idiot ex-president who referred to a highly propaganda driven judeo-christian conflict as a "crusade"?
Mr. Carter your failed presidency is proof that one not need to have "the proven substance or experience to become president." You should be glad that Barack Obama will finally be able to finish your second term for you. God help us all.
overall jimmy carter was quite poor a president.... but as stated in this video clip...he is spot on....he knows, all to well what such a job entails, and what kind of person is needed.----- barack is a disaster, and if he does not walk away he will pay the ultimate price. pathetic. let the record of history state that hussein was a mistake by which the rabble and irresponsible allowed their dispositions and foolishness to cover their eyes from sight while demagogues became tyrants.
Harry S. Truman was looked upon in his time as an absolutely useless president. Now we see him as one of the greatest.
Jimmy carter was a humanitarian, who tried for a fairer U.S.A. The moneyed and republicans just couldn't take that. Carter will be looked upon as a man who tried for peace and equality.(although as an ineffective president) Bush will be remembered as the idiot that ruined america and hopefully Barrack as the one that'd fix it.
"Harry S. Truman was looked upon in his time as an absolutely useless president. Now we see him as one of the greatest."
"Bush will be remembered as the idiot that ruined america "
I find it hilarious that you think it is too soon for history to pass its verdict on Carter, but not too soon to pass its verdict on Bush. Bush will be looked on like Truman was. A good president who was unfairly attacked because the angry opposition thought they stole an election.
Truman is remembered as someone who stayed tough against the soviets without resorting to the Witch Hunt hysteria of McCarthy.
Bush will be remembered as the President that started an illegal and difficult war, the man that runined the gift of an economy left to him by Clinton completely missed the vital moment to act on Gloabal warming and finaly the man that completely ruined Americas level of power in respect to china and russia.
Truman was just as hated as Bush was. Bush will be remembered as the one who stayed strong and won a war, giving us a strategic ally in the Middle East and tried to stop the economic crisis through pushing for reform of Fannie May and Freddie Mac. The democrats stopped that. Go compare the current unemployment, inflation, interest rates, etc to the ones at the end of the Carter years and then tell me who was a better president.
Yes, I suppose you've never seen the videos of democrats denouncing regulation against Fannie Maye and Freddie Mac? And you never heard about the warning from the White House in 2003? And in Bush's 2008 State of the Union? And you never heard that Clinton's dot-com bubble burst in the late Clinton years and unemployment rose to six percent? And you didn't year that Bush brought it down to four percent?
Okay, you convinced me! Someday, W. Bush will be compared with Truman in the pantheon of Great American Presidents. (Now, try saying that with a straight face!)
The only positive effect W has had on any legacy, is his father's. W has vindicated HW on Iraq. And as for the "Read My Lips" debacle, I think people now see that HW was the last true fiscal conservative, one who realizes you can't run up huge deficits.
However, W should never be forgotten. His war on civil liberties, etc, etc...
Maybe times were worse at the end of Carter's administration. But I think Bush had a bigger hand in making his times worse. He got rid of the surplus right off. Then after 9/11, went to war with Iraq, a war that was not necessary and one that we couldn't afford.
I don't think he will be remembered well. Maybe better. Time has that effect. I'll admit Reagan was one of the better of recent presidents, but he wasn't the messiah conservatives make him out to be.
The only way Bush will look better in the future is if people forget how he was totally useless when it came to domestic issues and criminally negligent when it came to foreign issues.
He used 9/11 as the pretext to invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.
And he won't be remembered as the man who won the war in Iraq any more than Nixon is remembered as the man who won in Vietnam.
If he was you would not need to say it. So on the behalf of the econimy, morgate victims, and wars victimss widowed mothers, former republicans and youtube he was purly nothing to this country and that is worst than being the worst president we ever had. But as long as you can sleep at night. I sugest you keep telling your self that.
how dare you, ok i didn't push spell check.( i was writing fast) but i am far from a idiot.. and i didn't even insult you. i WAS trying to have a decent reply without saying go f**k off. But since your being so defensive it goes to show what kind of person you are. and another thing I am not a liberal... Peace I'll pray for you!
Jimmy Carter is my favorite President of them all. I know that he has a sincere concern for people and is not in it for what he could get out of it. Jimmy Carter gets beat up a lot...but he does not deserve it. Carter has helped so many poor people to climb out of poverty. Perhaps that is why he is hated by some, because he was able to look pass peoples color and see their needs and he met them. GOD Bless Jimmy Carter he will always have my love and respect.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Jimmy Carter, without a doubt, even more than Bush, by far the worst President of the last 80 years.A living disgrace and embarassment to his countrymen who should have stuck to building Habitat homes to restore the 1 shred of respectability he had left.He is a treasonous jackass.
I'm sure you would be glad for that old elderly woman to go to the shelter and hang out with the thugs there, but John, people like me wont have it.We understand that the way to make a better country is to help feed, clothe, and educate the american people that can't do it on their own;even if our taxes are raised.Yes we know we have radical thoughts but we believe radical action is what is needed. We are tired of people like you destroying our country in our name.
People like John are the ones that let the elderly die of the cold every year because they can't afford to pay the heating bill. There's no damned way those kinds of people would let any of their tax money go toward helping ordinary folks yet they are all too quick to defend the 700 billion dollar dinosaur thats going to the house today.Maybe he works for Halliburton and he gets a cut of the 100 bucks a bag for laundry profit.Either way,he's a sick man.
If you want to make money on the stock market then invest in the prison system.Currently, wackenhut stock is paying 13% a year...It's really the only sure fire way to make money in the stock market.Isn't that a sad sign of the times in this country?I guess if those people had applied for a high tech job with their outstanding american education then they wouldnt be in prison.
All of this rhetoric because he doesn't beleieve in voting for anyone but the GOP.I have news for you John, people will not live in the little box the prison industrial complex has created for very long. There are people like me that are hard at work getting people to open their minds and do their own research. We will win because we will never stop and we are right.
You really are a lost cause John.We have an advantage? You have 9% unemployment.Truth be known Michigan has 21% unemployment as they don't count the masses that no longer qualify for unemployment benefits. How do we have an advantage over anyone? Our education system is 21 st out of all industrialized nations.Oh you mean that high tech job that the man from India came over here and got.Yeah he is working in america but he's not really my idea of an american.
When there is a 1 in 3 chance that McCain will die within four years I guess what they're saying is that Mrs. Palin has the experience we need....I am all for the common man going to the senate and serving but I am not for the hockey mom going to the white house..Vote Nader '08...A vote for the 2 major parties is a wasted vote...
alabama: Actually, I just read it's a 25% chance that MC won't survive two terms. Doesn't matter, he'll be a one term Pres for sure if elected (he won't run again because of his age).
IMO voting for Nader is a waste because he has NO chance of winning. But...at least you're not voting for the socialist Obama.
Doesn't matter though. Alabama is a safe Rep state.
Even after a 700 billion dollar bailout you don't see your party as socialist.Maybe if they get the trans texas corridor built in speedy time and ship all the remaining jobs to mexico you would wise up...nah I doubt it.Doesn't matter to me if Nader wins or not and I'm sure he won't.Did you think that I thought he would win?Your vote is the wasted vote though my friend. You are willing to put it to paper that you have no clue what a conservative is.
alabama: No, I didn't assume you thought Nader would win. I said voting for Nader was "wasting" your vote because he cannot win.
The bailout is not socialism...unless they actually buy the paper and have govt bureaucrats sitting on Boards. I don't think this will happen, but if it does, it will pass with far more Dem votes than Rep. So whay is it you blame the Reps for the "socialism".
BTW, wise up about free trade and stop spouting slogans about "losing our jobs".
I got completely and totally wised up about free trade the day Fontaine Fifth Wheel closed it's doors and moved to mexico. My 17.68 an hour robot operator job moved with them.I feel I am thoroughly wised up.
alabama: Sorry about the job, but I live in Michigan and our economy has ranked at the bottom for years. Our unemployment rate is about 9%.
But I don't vote for what's best for me personally...or my state. I vote for what I think is best for the nation.
We were going to lose high paying unionized jobs anyway...we can't compete with countries that pay a fraction of our wages. But free trade enables us to create new jobs in high tech where we've an advantage.

At least when Carter bailed out chrysler the government actually made a profit...Is Carter that bad because you have a reason for thinking so or did your senile daddy tell you so?
My father has passed away ,but he was a good conservative who loved his country, and thanks for proving once again that liberals cannot carry on a conversation without personel attacks and stupid remarks that have nothing to do with the conversation.
Thanks for proving that you have no reason for your comment other than your daddys point of view..I assure you I am not a liberal...I am an anarcho socialist...There's nothing further to the right sir
how many people read the book and how many people read the title and decided they love carter. carter choose a very unfair and provocative title for a book that is actually very boring not revolutionary and represent the mainstream political views in israel AKA the 2 state solution with the palestinian state in the territories occupied in 1967. he is not an antisemite but he did choose a stupid title I guess for publicity and personal gain
Personally I like Bill Clinton over Jimmy Carter...Jimmy was too nice and not motivating enough while Bill was more entertaining and a better communicator while being president...nobody is perfect, not even the announcer you hear in the movie trailers ...and the world still turns
don't forget bill was a pathological liar that couldn't even tell the truth even if it was extremely important to tell the truth. O wait and he believed them too.
I like the way he tries to make it sound like he's reading a quote from Carter, that is untill Carter corrects him. Obama is a Neo-Conservative not a Democrat. He supports israel and has a Jewish name. Barak is Hebrew for "lightning"
Are you serious? THings were MUCH worse when Carter was a president. You culd only get gas on certain days and the economy was ALOT worse than it is right now. I'm not Bush fan by any means, he did lie and pull all sorts of crap, but Carter was a piss poor president.
This goes into clips they will never play on the liberal news channels.
Why do people who are middle or lower income levels support him? He is going to raise taxes on corporations and businesses. Not just Exxon and the big corporations, but small businesses as well. What will your boss do when he has to pay hire taxes on his business? Hire more people? NO. Give you a raise? NO. Layoff people? Maybe and in larger corporations most likely in large numbers.
thats the thing, "libs" (lol thats a funny nickname for them) ...they like to pay taxes. idk why, they love giving money to the government. even if we are at war right now and they are so freakin against it, they love any act, or any law that says u must pay taxes. its rediculous
you right wing idiots always want to put down democrats for taxes but we had a rep. house, senate and pres for six years and who got lower taxes? It sure as hell wasnt me! Why would anyone support this war, what have we done? Weapons of mass des-NO-Bin Laden-NO-700billion-YES. People in N.O. are still living in fema trailors and were rebuilding Iraq? Rep need to shut up!! They had there turn and look what it got us!!!!
oh i get it...i see how it works, you blame bush for everything for this war. did you know the senate also had to vote on the war to?! hillary clinton voted for the war and if you dont believe me, then watch her speech its on youtube. 9/11 - terrorists, they killed thousands of innocent people what do you think they would do next? bin laden, he will go as far as he needs until hes satified. did u know terrorists have a "rep" for taking people hostage and killing innocent people?
like i said....ALL.....AMERICANS..... IN.... THE.... BEGINNING.... WANTED... TO... DO... SOMTHING. Nobody expected to be in Iraq--7years later, with a bill of 700billion! Hell yes I blame bush for the war he has taken it beyond belief.-----Are you talking about the Bin Laden terrorists? Because if you are why doesnt your man Bush find him and kill him? Because he doesnt want to. I tried to write small words so you could follow. If there is anything you have questions on just ask.
We also warned sadam. he refused. France and Germany wanted us to keep looking for WMD. We told sadam about the WMD and he refused to let us in. does that say something?!? why do you think he refused? he knew he was gonna go for war because of it.
WMD??? weve been there 7 years, and have we found any? Why do you think he refused, it wasnt because he had any or we would have found them! He refused because he knew he was going to war that is right, but not because of WMD, or any other reason than Bush wanted to!!!!!!!
like i said earlier, you cant blame bush for everything. the senate shares equal blame to if you r infact wanting to blame someone. no we did not find any WMD, ill give you that one, and i am aware that we are still in this war, but, its not as flexible as you think. im starting to think that we should get out soon...but im just pretty confused about this year mostly. right at the beginning hell no, but sure ill agree with you that we should get out asap
well thought out arguement xXxDANMANxXx. You completely stumped beast107. And I agree. I'm not a right wing ultra conservative nor a leftist demoncratic liberal. But most people who refute the current administration over the war pretty much say THE SAME THING. A lot of their argument has more to do with reading minds to justify their point, what- if's, suppositions or assumptions with no logic its frightening. Washington would be turning in his grave
When Carter wasnt reelected he became the first persident to raise the gas prices to over a dollar. Bush didnt start raising the gas prices untill after they attacked him for his campainge against kerry. (They say he shouldnt of indorsed 911.) The next joker may promise lower gas prices, but once he is offerd the under the table incentives, he will honor it. (knowing the public will only view it as a shortage.)
before bush took office the first time he bashed clinton for gas being a dollar and some change yes he did. 1999--- do some research before you start spewing that Republican bull!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wow for ur info...i did do my research. dont tell me what i did or didnt do. i typed into google, "bush blames clinton high gas prices". type that in and look at the first one. it says "Clinton Blames Bush Administration for High Gas Prices" thats exactly what it says. i copied and pasted it.
I dont have it backwards. You have your clintons mixed up. It was during the campaigne of 1999. (dont remember the network or program that stated it. They would have to go back on their news records to answer that. Im not a writter I dont have to give references.)
Good old Jimmy! lol Now, all of a sudden he thinks Obama is fine as wine and good as gold...merely two years later after he's spent more than a year of that on the campaign trail. Shirking his Senate duties all along the way. Hillary or McCain '08!
Mr. Carter we have finally had a President worse than you. I never thought I would see that in my lifetime. Now that you back Obama I know that I will not vote for him.
Jimmy Carter is an idiot. The country was the laughingstock of the world when he was President. How dare is trash Hillary Clinton all day long. He is just jealous of the Clintons because of all this own screw ups.
jimmy carter is the last person we should be listening to. During his tenure we had 21% inflation 14% unemployment, gas lines, Iranian Hostages, politicizing the Olympics, and something called the misery index. Oh yeah ,this is a man whose endorsement I would want. The only scary thing is that barry h. obama would be a continuation of carters legacy. He would be THAT inept.
should we listen to bush because the inflation and unemployment is almost the same, maybe not gas lines because no one can afford it, Iraqi Hostages who were beheaded. Misery index----check it out today!!!! damn if i had to pick between Carter and Bush give me Carter at least his intentions were good! Bushes intentions are to get rich and his friends to get rich! CRIMINAL--- at least nobody ever called Jimmy Carter a criminal! Carter was not a good President but he was far better than bush!!!!
Alot has happened since then, but Carter's problem was about Barack's lack of "proven substance and strenghth." How had Obama shown substance since then, the campaign trail doesn't show substance, just showmanship.
Carter was a bumbling fool. He had no answers for anything and the truth is being the President was beyond his mental capacity.

And what about Reagan? Conservative? Perhaps. But he was also very eager socialist. At least people of weapon industry remember it well. And Bush jr. made some very interesting socialism action (especially in 2008)

Coolioman07 2 years ago
HAHAHA.
0710ns 2 years ago
No, Carter's downfall was both during carter! Are you serious??? We had 21% inflation, extremely high interest rates, 70% tax rates (top wise but not much lower for other classes), 14% unemployment, and gas shortages. That sound like economic goodness to you? Because your basically saying the economy was no factor in Carter's giant loss to Ronald Reagan in 1980. The economy was bad for only a year and a half of Reagan, and Ford cut inflation in half in his term with his policies too btw
Coolioman07 2 years ago
Coolioman07: I don't understand how your comments contradict what I'm saying. They are implicit when I said "economic were bad during Ford, Carter and early Reagan." You didn't actually dispute that. I did not say OR imply "economic goodness." Read more closely next time, pal.
0710ns 2 years ago
Please explain to me the failures of the carter administration?
Liberalism didn't start with FDR.
Most economists agree FDR is the reason the U.S. came out of depression.
Taxes to do the middle and lower classes were significantly lowered during the depression.
When social security came out it was a LIBERAL program. The right hated it. They even called it socialist. Now its as American as apple pie.
Where the fuck do you get your facts?

i dont wanna get on about how Carter was during his presidency, my overall point on this matter is that Carter is much more dependable when it comes to ending wars and bringing up peace. he made it very clear where the problems are and how to deal with them. its just that people are just ignoring that facts and follow CNN. he wants Peace and end the war, anything wrong with that? if you think so then it takes us to my previous post.

Scrib3d 3 years ago
Kabane52 3 years ago
Truman is remembered as someone who stayed tough against the soviets without resorting to the Witch Hunt hysteria of McCarthy.
Bush will be remembered as the President that started an illegal and difficult war, the man that runined the gift of an economy left to him by Clinton completely missed the vital moment to act on Gloabal warming and finaly the man that completely ruined Americas level of power in respect to china and russia.
Scrib3d 3 years ago
Further more Truamans re-election was an upset. Bush's orginal election has been proved since to actually have been cheating.
Also Carter is already rememberd as a great humanitarian, out of his depth in office.
Scrib3d 3 years ago
Um. No. Bush's original election was within the rules of the U.S. electoral system. Gore was the one knocking military personnel off the rolls.
Kabane52 3 years ago
Truman was just as hated as Bush was. Bush will be remembered as the one who stayed strong and won a war, giving us a strategic ally in the Middle East and tried to stop the economic crisis through pushing for reform of Fannie May and Freddie Mac. The democrats stopped that. Go compare the current unemployment, inflation, interest rates, etc to the ones at the end of the Carter years and then tell me who was a better president.
Kabane52 3 years ago
Ha ha ha ha ha... Wait, are you serious?
jjfyke 3 years ago
Yes, I suppose you've never seen the videos of democrats denouncing regulation against Fannie Maye and Freddie Mac? And you never heard about the warning from the White House in 2003? And in Bush's 2008 State of the Union? And you never heard that Clinton's dot-com bubble burst in the late Clinton years and unemployment rose to six percent? And you didn't year that Bush brought it down to four percent?
Kabane52 3 years ago
Okay, you convinced me! Someday, W. Bush will be compared with Truman in the pantheon of Great American Presidents. (Now, try saying that with a straight face!)
The only positive effect W has had on any legacy, is his father's. W has vindicated HW on Iraq. And as for the "Read My Lips" debacle, I think people now see that HW was the last true fiscal conservative, one who realizes you can't run up huge deficits.
However, W should never be forgotten. His war on civil liberties, etc, etc...
jjfyke 3 years ago
So, your response is basically "Ha, that's rich".
Kabane52 3 years ago
Basically.
I'll admit Reagan was one of the better of recent presidents, but he wasn't the messiah conservatives make him out to be.
jjfyke 3 years ago
The only way Bush will look better in the future is if people forget how he was totally useless when it came to domestic issues and criminally negligent when it came to foreign issues.
He used 9/11 as the pretext to invade a country that had nothing to do with 9/11.
And he won't be remembered as the man who won the war in Iraq any more than Nixon is remembered as the man who won in Vietnam.
jjfyke 3 years ago
To think that GW Bush will be remembered as anything more than a sub-par chief executive is pure idiocy.
If anything, I believe his opposition will be viewed historically as cowards for not having him impeached.

IMO voting for Nader is a waste because he has NO chance of winning. But...at least you're not voting for the socialist Obama.
Doesn't matter though. Alabama is a safe Rep state.
JohnR22926 3 years ago
Even after a 700 billion dollar bailout you don't see your party as socialist.Maybe if they get the trans texas corridor built in speedy time and ship all the remaining jobs to mexico you would wise up...nah I doubt it.Doesn't matter to me if Nader wins or not and I'm sure he won't.Did you think that I thought he would win?Your vote is the wasted vote though my friend. You are willing to put it to paper that you have no clue what a conservative is.
alabamafilmfestival 3 years ago
alabama: No, I didn't assume you thought Nader would win.
BTW, wise up about free trade and stop spouting slogans about "losing our jobs".

alabama: Sorry about the job, but I live in Michigan and our economy has ranked at the bottom for years.

Turn 'em in to the Secret Service, jvarkias. President Carter is still under their protection.
Besides, it will give some pathetic Mom's basement dwelling 'BamaDroid a story to tell to his co-professionals in the fast food industry.

He would be THAT inept.
lyokoglitch 3 years ago 2
should we listen to bush because the inflation and unemployment is almost the same, maybe not gas lines because no one can afford it, Iraqi Hostages who were beheaded.

When President Carter talks, we listen. What he is saying now is that Obama is the best thing to happen to America lately. Every one has to listen.

"That was in 2006. A lot has happened since then."
Oh Really? What has happened since?
All Obama has done is run for President and avoid most Senate duties.
I suppose that amounts to the experience necessary to be commander-in-chief...?

If ducking duty's good enough for Dubya, it's good enough for 'Bama.
"Change is the Change we can Change."

That was in 2006. A lot has happened since then. Just look at more recent comments on Obama by Carter.
And sine when has the RNC and the right thought Jimmy Carter was right on anything?
arirhodes 3 years ago
Alot has happened since then, but Carter's problem was about Barack's lack of "proven substance and strenghth." How had Obama shown substance since then, the campaign trail doesn't show substance, just showmanship.
