You are plain sick, my man! I am completely blown away by your right hand technique; had to take years to master this. Just gives one that much more insight to what a monster Jamerson really was. Thanks for sharing your gift and for the constant inspiration!
@NegroXFile. You should check out what many Motown producers and arrangers used to say about Jamerson's playing. They often referred to James playing, 'wrong' notes. One of them likened this technique to galloping along on a horse, then being thrown up into the air by the, 'wrong' note only to land beautifully on the, 'right' note in the next phrase. These arrangers and producers were all black. What's up brother - do you think they were white guys that blacked-up just to work at Motown?
@SteveArpo -Have you ever heard a clam on any Motown records? I think not-his lines were right on the money! I am a white bassist and you are nothing but a jive assed Mo Fo! Take a hike dumb ass!
I think NegroXFile misunderstood me saying "wrong" - I never meant they were wrong literally, just that these notes were outside the diatonic scales we all learn at school. I tried to show that I don't think the notes are really wrong by putting quotes around it, but I obviously didn't make it clear enough! Sorry for causing confusion - no reason to start a white/black thing. Peace to all. Jamerson never played a wrong note in his life AFAIC.
@jamersonshook That guy should read what Ron Brown said about JJ, just what I was trying to paraphrase in my own comment. If anyone who says they are into Jamerson and have never appreciated his technique of playing the wrong notes then I wonder if they have ever listened to him at all. Your palying is spot on. A1. Would you ever do Jamerson's Tammi Terrell version of, 'This Old Heart Of Mine' or, 'Two Can Have A Party'?
@NegroXFile You've got it all wrong. He didn't mean they were wrong but they are notes played outside the standard scales. It's certainly not a Black or White thing. You are being a bit defensive trying to find racism where it doesn't exist.
@tbcass Again! I said what I said and thats it with no fucking apologies! WHY DONT YOU WHITE MOTHERFUCKERS APOLOGIZE FOR SLAVERY AND ALL THE EVIL SHIT THAT YALL DO EVERYDAY TO THE PEOPLE ON THIS PLANET AND THE PLANET ITSELF WITH YOUR HAARP PROGRAM AND YOUR ATOM BOMBS AND SHIT! I HATE YOU WHITE MOTHERFUCKERS!
@NegroXFile Your name reminds me of that old X-Files TV show. Do you mind if I call you Agent Scully? You're one silly bitch Scully. Your comments make me laugh!
@EquitableAndJust1 Call me what you may but you wont call me a fucking immitator! You fucking whitefolks have to always steal everything from us Blacks because you have no creativity and when you do try to get creative that boring ass Lawrence Welk shit comes out that NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR! NOBODY!
@NegroXFile You ARE an immitator!! That was a perfect immitation of a crazy person! Just for the record white folks invented mayonaise, bow ties and artificial flowers. Musically speaking whites invented Polka, and what about Achy Breaky Heart? See, you're just talkin out y'alls ass. If you're ever confused about anything else, just drop me a line.
@NegroXFile YOU DO NOT HATE MAYO!!!!! You are a liar! If you don't admit that you like mayo, I'll never believe anything you say ever again!!! I'll even think you LIKE White people because if you lie about mayo you'll lie about anything! And here's a few more exlamation points just for good measure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and white people invented the exclamation point!

Great, are you playing flats as Jamerson did?
NamelyGuitar 2 years ago
is not ilogic, in jazz you play a lot of cromatics notes, in this case you are using and open string, to create the efect of jamerson, very good

JohnDeacon 4 years ago
Thanks - The Precision is a Japanese 62 reissue with active EMG pickups, straight into the pc using a cheap cable.
