@BuecherFuerAlle… If you knew anything about the Lotus Sutra, you would of never written an arrogant statement like this (for the people who are complaining, just learn chinese, etc)
Stop feeding your ego on how great you are and understand not all people are capable of speaking more than one language but instead just want to learn what the beautiful teaching of the Lotus Sutra has to offer, that we are all capable of having Buddha - Nature no matter how ignorant or intellectual one maybe
for the people who are complaining, just learn chinese. in the majority of the world, being able to speak at least 2 languages is common, so get of your high horse and educate yourself a little bit. sure, it's a lot of work, but it's worth it.
@BuecherFuerAlle I speak german french and spanish havent had time to learn cantonese or mandarin yet as they have only limited practical applications here in the western world. I am currently working on learning japanese too. so please forgive me for not learning 'chinese' yet. And please forgive the laziness of someone not wanting to learn a language so they can study the sutras. it should be obvious that one could spend a lifetime just learning the languages fluently. namaste

As for Learning a language simply for the sake of religious study, I don't see why one shouldn't do that. european muslims who grow up seperated from the arabic language go out of their way to learn arabic so they can read the koran in it's original language.

釋迦牟尼是偉人,一生博爱行善,受萬人尊敬, 八十歲生病老死.佛法純是佛祖個人主觀見解,他沒有依靠神明,也沒有自稱是神的化身或受神明啟示. 六年的瑜伽打坐冥想也是效法當時各派盛行探索真理的方法,所學所想的都是人的理論和文化 ,是有待查證的.可惜 ,今天佛友們沒有好好地把他的知慧和思想用心地鑚硏,卻求他賜福息災,是絕對地把人神化 佛教-除教主釋迦牟尼以外，其它出名的佛，菩薩如觀音、地藏、阿彌陀佛、彌勒佛等，全是空中樓閣神話，他們從沒有在人世間上出現過，無任何真實歷史根據、如國家、父母、人民、朋友、出生地、住址年代、祖宗家譜、弟子門徒、妻子兒女，它們的出現，全是佛祖死後數百年，由後人假借佛說編出來的故事，難怪有宗教研究學者和歷史學家，對他們的存在，不予承認。
