I don't know which area of the country you are in, but here in the Los Angeles area there are branches of the Society of American Magicians, and the International Brotherhood of Magicians, both are pretty good clubs with amateur to professional level magicians. If you can find either group in your area you will make some very good friends and will be able to grow creatively. All you need is a sincere interest in magic.
