We tried to retire in Victoria but we only lasted two years. The beaches were dirty and the ocean was cold. There were many street people, the people we knew had no meaningful employment, and winters were wet and cold. We found that people were always telling lies, living a life of denial. The trip across to Vancover for the day was about $110. Homes were rediculously over priced, and the city was dumping 100% of all human waste directly into the ocean. Nice place to visit, but ...
is upper northern bc worth cheking out? Does upper northern bc have any mountains scenery like the drive from calgary to banff national park. Is there anywhere in bc that has mountain scenery similar to the alberta rockies? So far the best scenery i have seen in canada has been the mountains on the drive from calgary to banff national park. does yukon have mountains similar to alberta?
if anyone is planing to go bc.. If your a nature and city life person. Vancouver and the mainland. If your are western / cowboy person, chilcotin / okanagan region. If you love just plain nature/ mainland, kootenay, all along the west side of the ocean is a lot of lovely forests and the island. For the ladies and their gardens. The garden in victoria called butchart, also another in bridal falls called minter gardens.
@lilrobtom22 I beg to differ. Vancouver is the dullest city in North America. It's all Hype. Every time there is some sort of celebration, a riot breaks out. You don't want to move here. besides it rains all the time.
for anyone not from bc. the pic with the barn was taken in chilliwack it seem like cause of the mountains and farmland. the pic with Burnaby sunrise-obviusly Burnaby. The pic with the red roof hotel is in 3 valley gap its between revelstoke and salmon arm. Its a 4 star hotel, really nice for any tourist. Got a ghost town, themed rooms, lake, a little kids magical forest next door with a beautiful garden in the hotel. The pic with the mountain and little wooden bridge is in the kootenays.

wow seriously how did you get these pictures? i live in bc and it is horrible here. the weather sucks for one thing. its always raining and its never hot in the summer. for another, the people here suck, like really no offence but they do, and i could go on and on but whatever.
Really nice pictures btw, have no idea how you got them
He got them by walking and watching around him. He got them by loving his surroundings. He got them by having a heart! This is BC! And it is beautiful and people are nice and the weather is plain normal...
If you can't see that maybe your soul needs some fixing... if there's a god, he took his time when he decided to 'paint' british columbia! This is BY FAR the most beautiful place in the world!
Canada is sooooo bueatiful and it's seems so peaceful there. It looks like you've stepped back in time where everything's not stuffed with people and buildings. It really looks so pure there. My only reserve moving there is the miliary. What happens if someone just bombs Canada? Would they b able to react? They're such a peaceful country and that's the beauty of it but that doesn't always stop others from attacking :(
yes, I wouldn't think there would be but someone will find some reason sometime. Unfortunately someone's always looking for reasons to attack someone else
When it comes to bombing a country like Canada they would have to have a veryyyy good reason that I dont think anyone could find. In the case of 9/11 The US was totally asking for it.
I totally agree. America seems to think we're the policemen of the world and it's our job to tell people what they can and can't do (even though America itself does it). I love my country and always will, but as a descendant of Native Americans it's truly my motherland, but I don't like what it's become and is becoming. America is such a violent country and its not a place I want to spend my life in.
@GWTWobsessed No, There's always Canadian military drills going on. Canada's military is incredibly well trained. Infact, Canadian fighterjets engage Russian bombers up over the arctic ocean.
The photos are from all over the province. There are some which are actually not in BC, but nearby. For those who don't know. BC is a very large area and is mainly mountainous. Look for BC Tourism or photos for more detailed photos with descriptions. There are no shortage of web sites on line.
I am pretty sure some are from Alberta. Right around the provincial border for sure. The area around the provincial border looks so similar that it is hard to be sure which side it is on though.
Anybody who visits here has got to go see the rockies. That little belt of mountains is the best place in the whole country and I've seen an awful lot of the country.
Requiem for a dream? why?! BC is not tragic enough for this song.
