Looking forward to seeing this show. It looks to me like it might be the road in Kashimr from Srinagar to Leh (not 100% on that), which I've travelled along a couple of times in each direction. The first time was in 1982 when I did it sitting on top of a truck. Great views of the mountains, but scary as hell.
look people don't complain abt roads in Indian Himalayas. Himalayas are highest mountains in this world so obviously the roads are highest too. these roads remain closed for 6 months due to very heavy snow and avalanches. when snow is cleared after 6 months the roads are all damaged so the other 6 months are spent on repairing roads that too with so many hill slides. i think Indian authorities do a very great job in maintaing these highways in not so good terrain.
This show is a piece of crap. It uses stock footage of trucks and truck drivers pieced together in some studio in a haphazzard fashion trying to make a reality tv series. The whole show is BS.

@linkin694 Based on what? A shitty tv show that classifies 4 months of pulling loads under 65,000 lbs on the safest highway in the world (the ice road) as being a veteran driver? I pull no less than 77,000 lbs on every outbound load, I'm usually right on 80,000, I drive through winter storms where I don't have the luxury of sharing the road with ONLY 4 other trucks in a convoy (like on the ice road); I have to deal with fucking idiots who have no fucking clue what they are doing.

Looking forward to seeing this show. It looks to me like it might be the road in Kashimr from Srinagar to Leh (not 100% on that), which I've travelled along a couple of times in each direction. The first time was in 1982 when I did it sitting on top of a truck. Great views of the mountains, but scary as hell.

look people don't complain abt roads in Indian Himalayas. Himalayas are highest mountains in this world so obviously the roads are highest too. these roads remain closed for 6 months due to very heavy snow and avalanches. when snow is cleared after 6 months the roads are all damaged so the other 6 months are spent on repairing roads that too with so many hill slides. i think Indian authorities do a very great job in maintaing these highways in not so good terrain.

@ufcpride93 ehh yes the usa does, but strict regulation of the roads has made them safe. such as road construction regulations (so nobody is on the edge of an unsupported cliff that is 5 ft wide and allows passing under these conditions) we have rigid traffic laws that are enforced. This is what this country would look like without government regulation of the roads and safety. Truly.

When I was a driver, you could feel that the amount of stress coincided with the traffic you had to deal with. I had cars that didn't get over far enough on mountain roads that were falling apart, but I didn't also have cars passing me on the most dangerous curves on top of it. I also had an option to take a longer highway route to get there, they don't.

I had no idea what this was until I watched it on Netflix. It's pretty much a trucker's nightmare. I have had some butt clenching moments on America's roads but this has changed my mind about how nice we have it. This is like driving up 95 on a holiday weekend only in wooden trucks on deteriorating mountain roads where there's not enough room for two way traffic at all times. The common danger is the drivers though...I thought people in New Jersey were suicidal maniac drivers, sheesh!
