  • classic!

  • what episode was this from

  • @rats9001 It is from the 1996 Christmas Special called Starbound hope that answers your question.

  • British comedy is so superior

  • I just watched this scene on the TV; hilarious!!!!!

  • Hahahaha, love this show. Always makes me laugh. You don't get characters like this anymore, all the drivel that is dished out as entertainment these days. Thank God for YouTube, we can all enjoy these wonderful shows and have a giggle.

  • How is Victor supposed to take it for walks...nail it to a skateboard...So many funny moments, The Pain in the Arse Pub Sign, when he answers the puppy instead of the phone and of course the Victor Meldrew Honda Song...my granddad god rest his soul was like Victor in many ways, a cantankerous old sod at times

  • "Nippy?! Doesn't look very nippy from where I'm standing!"

  • Skateboard..... LOL

  • Victor Mildrew came in my shop today asking me where the rocket salad is... 0_0

  • "Tell me this is just a JOKE."

    XD!

  • I DONT WANT A DEAD DOG LOL

  • Sometimes words are not necessary to make a great comedy moment. The expression on Victor's face, when he sees the stuffed dog, says more than any words can.

  • You go Victor! Doddery ol' Mrs. Warboys just assuming that he knew Nippy was stuffed! Her character although funny would have drived most people around the bend sometimes with her absent minded stupidity & tactlessness. She was essentially a decent enough woman but how soon would it be before you wanted to strangle her! Both her and Victor were sublime comedy creations and had good chemistry together. I liked Margaret as well but they two were funnier overall.

  • so funny, wish they hadnt killed victor off

  • "Why would you want a dead dog that hadn't been stuffed??" greatest question ever asked hahahaha

  • Just the way he says "Nippy" cracks me up

  • i wish they had made more episodes :(

ive got the boxset and watched every single episode.

only fools and horses and one foot in the grave are absolute classic.

they'll never make 'em like that anymore.

  • What show was this? :D?

  • @LVAOMEGA One Foot in the Grave. A BBC1 sitcom that ran from 1990 - 2000.

  • Gosh, bring sitcoms like this back PLEASE!

  • @goodchappy i agree, i bloody wish they would, im 14 and i hate modern sitcoms

  • @TheJuicyfruitx no one gives a fuck about your age

  • LOL LOL Nippy!

  • @AICabal :( i havent kept up to date with the latest. The 90s were the golden age. And the pioneers were in the 70's

  • victor 4 prime minister he would do a better job

  • lol this is funny! XD

  • The innocence from Mrs Warboys makes this scene even better.

  • "Why would you want a dead dog that wasn't stuffed, would look awful."

  • Mrs. Warboys: I thought everyone knew about Nippy.

Victor: NIPPY?!? He doesnt look very nippy from where I'm standing!

    Class :D

  • #lol

  • Mrs. Warboys is such an idiot.

They show her being the dumbest person in the program.

  • Hancock, Basil Fawlty, Alf Garnett, the Steptoes, Victor Meldrew...the cream of a brilliant crop of British tv sitcom creations. Closely followed by Blackadder, Del-boy, Bernard Black, Norman Stanley Fletcher.

  • David Renwick is a fantastic writer!

  • Yet another classic disaster, courtesy of Mrs. Warboys...

  • Classic. :D Shame they had to kill the old geezer off. I think series 6 was a good time to end it, nothing that goes on forever stays good, but killing him......i couldn't believe it.

  • Has me in tears every time. Absolute classic.

  • Hahahahaha that is to funny

  • Some of the best comedy writing ever has gone into this program I love it. NIPPY!!!

  • FUNNIEST thing I have seen in a loooong time FUCKING HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

  • "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL'S THIS?!"

    lmao

  • with television shows like X Factor , Pop Idol , Britans Got Talent , Strictly Come Dancing and so on and it just really pisses me of that they cant make up there own ideas.

  • I agree

  • Cheers then that makes two of us.

  • ONe foot in the grave is fucking hilarious... BBC comedy= shits on US of A humour.

  • I totally agree .

  • Then I am sure youd totally agree that the US of A has sucked at trying to redo that bbc classic THE OFFICE in their own way.... just in a stupid random fart joke way which fails...

  • Yeah i really do agree with everything you have said but personally i hate the office and dont find it funny at all . No offense to you but thats just my personal opinion

  • @tomkkkkk it used to, but they're both as shit as each other these days,

  • that is just so brilliantly funny

  • "Why would you want a dead dog that wasn't stuffed, that would look awful."

    Classic Mrs Waughboyhs

  • im crying this is too funny!

    elastic lmaoo

  • Why in the name of all thats holy would I want a dead dog ! brilliant. The best comedy show ever.

  • Why would I want a dead so I could tie elastic to it and chuck it across the room and shout come here boy. Brillant

  • Why would you want a dead dog that hadn't been stuffed, lol

  • "How am I supposed to take him for walks? Nail him to a skateboard?!"

  • he cracks me up look how he walked in with a smile on his face and stopped

  • LOL

  • This is probably the funniest scene in the whole series, and perhaps one of the funniest scenes in British comedy.

I could watch this a thousand times and still be in hysterics.

  • What The Bloody Hells This ?

    LOL

  • 'NIPPY!? DOESN'T LOOK VERY NIPPY FROM WHERE I'M STANDING!'

    Pure genius!

  • ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!!! I laugh every time!!!

  • gawd he cracks me up!!!!!!!!!!ROTFL!!!!

  • NIPPY??!!! lol :')

  • I remember when I first watched this my family and I were literally on the floor with laughter,

"Why would want a dead dog that hadn't been stuffed?" best line ever

  • What series is this from?

  • This episode was a Christmas special from 1996 and was not part of the regular series.

  • "NIPPY!?"

  • one of the best laughs i've had in ages. it helped since my own dog recently died. thanks 4 the post

  • 0:50 - "What the bloody hell's this?"

NO-ONE in acting can say that line better lol! XD

  • so funny

  • OMG this is great! Thanks for the upload!

  • Trust Mrs. Warboys to be involved in this type of cock-up...

  • omg, i love this show, SO hilarious!

  • Comment removed

  • NIPPY!? XD

  • Whats wrong with that dog?

  • It's dead, the owner couldn't bear to part with it so he had the dog stuffed.

You should have listened to what they were saying - but you'd have to stop laughing first :)

  • ROFLMAO!! This is classic!

Fun hearing the audience laugh :)

  • Poor Victor! He looked so excited and smiling happily coming in with the dog bowl before he realised!! That moment has got to be up there with Fawlty's funny Hitler walk and Del Boy falling thru the bar, surely!

  • Pure, British Classic Comedy!!!

  • I dont want a dead dog! Why in the name of all thats holy would I want a dead Dog?!

  • I love mrs warboys! She is so thick skined!

  • lol love one foot in the grave soo much! just class! :)

  • One of the funniest moments, poor victor was so looking forward to having the dog...NIPPY?

not from where I'm standing, lol

  • The episode is titled "Starbound" and a free copy of the DVD is on offer - see page 55 of the Christmas/New Year edition of the Radio Times.

  • Nail him to a skateboard??? lololol

This is more than funny!! Love the show and am currently collecting all the series ;)

  • Can this series be viewed on American format DVD or VHS? This is my all-time-favorite show! I even have a friend, Fitz Parker(68) who looks like Victor Meldrew! I'd love to meet Richard Wilson!

  • Normally I would hate to hear someone rant, but Richard Wilson does it so well!! He IS The UK's Greatest Actor! (in 20-some years I will look like him and hope I'm in as good of condition and not stuffed in someone's living room)

  • Thank you rspoun5, rjcuk, joerhino330, orgasmo144 and the rest for posting Meldrew videos, it's my #1 Favorite show! Greetings from Delaware USA!

  • Hi Delaware! You have great taste. Love it when he says "so I can throw it across the room on a piece of elastic and shout 'Here boy!'" Classic stuff

  • Thank Zay-ge-zunt! Too bad One Foot in the Grave isn't shown at Prime Time 8-10pm here in the US, my fellow citizens don't know what they're missing. Sadly I think most Americans don't get British humor, but I'm glad to say I do! Yes, Classic Stuff, THANK YOU Richard Wilson and cast! Plus Eastenders!

  • I'm British. Eastenders is awful.

  • #1. I love British people!!!!!!!!!

#2. Eastenders might have depressing story lines, however it has very high quality acting! I only wish I could watch it everyday! Thank you BBC and all the cast!!!

  • this is one of the feww episode I can't find anywhere! It's really anooying. I've got all series 1-6 DVD's, but am still missing episodes!

Are there any special DVD's with them on? or somamt?

  • I do believe that there is a christmas specials DVD that *may* have it on.

  • The episode is titled "Starbound" and was broadcast on BBC1 on 26th December 1996. I've got the One Foot In The Grave complete DVD boxset and the episode is featured on a DVD titled "Christmas Specials 1996 & 1997", and is separate from the DVDs featuring series one to six.

  • Timeless !-)

  • I want this on DVD CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE!! I have every single series on DVD. But I don't have this!!

  • It's in the xmas special 1996 methinks. if its not on DVD then try it on ageing VHS.

  • Hi 67675656565655656565, I'm huge Victor Mildrew fan too, for 15+ years now. Some other UK sit-com shows that are [more or less] at the same standard of quality as 'One Foot..' are these ;

    Father Ted

Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge

    I'm Alan Partridge - Series 1

    I'm Alan Partridge - Series 2

    Spaced

    Fawlty Towers [of course]

They are *all* worth checking out the first episodes of. Father Ted series 3 has a 'One Foot..' crossover of sorts, Richard Wilson is in the episode.

  • hi i ve been a huge 1 foot in the grave fan 4 7 years and own every episode of it on dvd and only need 2 buy 2 christmas specials 2 have the full set. Also i a big fan of father ted and faulty towers as i own every episode of it aswell.

Also other good comedy shows are keeping up appearances, steptoe and son,the goodies, some mothers do ave em,black adder and mr bean, the young ones, monty python, little britain and league of gentlemen.

  • In my opnion

    Father Ted

Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge

    I'm Alan Partridge - Series 1

    I'm Alan Partridge - Series 2

    Spaced

    Fawlty Towers

are all boring for me the best british comedy is things like

  • imo, Steptoe and Son is on the same level as One Foot.

  • You can see the 'One Foot..' bit from that Father Ted episode here ;

    youtube . com/watch?v=uJvkofdmqh0

[sorry if this posts twice, my computer hiccuped]

  • The british sure know how to make a great comedy show.Something the yanks could never do with the acception of seinfeld off course. But in australia theres some great comedy shows that are worth watching which are we mother and son,the comedy company, fast forward, can be heroes, summer heights high and the chasers war on everything. I have seen that episode of father ted its very funny. When victor goes crazy in the caves when he heres the constant echoing of i dont believe it.

  • I really liked Starbound. It's one of the best episodes.

  • Just the best humour. Simple sentences, clear development of story, no gimmics. HILARIOUS.

  • I dont belive it!!!

  • Good old Victor! One of my comedy heroes!

  • i dont remember this and i have all the episodes on dvd i will have 2 watch it now

  • lmao!! what episode is this from???
