  • Great times..... when artists were really artists and did what they knew they could do well. Today's full of people who say they can do lots of things, but can't even do one of them.

  • Two Legends together ...Amazing .. I LOVE them both !! xoxo

  • So pretty

  • Why they ever cut this from MFL is beyond me! But at least they used it in another show! Julie is AMAZING.. Love Angie too! GO DIVAS!

  • Did nobody notice that the interviewer was Steve Lawrence? Also one of my favorite singers.

  • sing it! do sing it!

  • Beautiful. Thanks!

  • Julie Andrews is simply wonderful!!!!

  • awesome!

    Diamonds, these ladies!

    love them!

  • Wouldn't it be great if Meryl Streep and Whoopi Goldberg were there too?

  • @mdmf117 Can Whoopie Goldberg sing?

  • @ttiiyy I don't know - sounds pretty good to me in Sister Act but I'm not sure - still, like Angela and Julie she is a wonderful actress - and sits among them as a top notch diva in my opinion.

  • Wow! The best I've heard Angela Lansbury sing. and sitting down no less!!

  • I grew up watching both of them unlike most of my generation, and I have such a huge appreciation for the both of them. I'd give anything to meet them both.

  • marvelous singing from both ladies..

    bravo!

  • and sitting down!

  • I share the same birthdat with Julie Andrews...I can't believe it haha

  • Angela just blows my mind here. She sits and sings like... it's easy. WOW.

  • Coloratura vs. mezzo soprano = GREAT!!!! Love 'em both!

  • Thanks for posting! This is wonderful! =)

  • Wonderful!

  • it's mrs.potts! <3

  • Wonderful, thanks for posting

  • Fantastic. Thanks for this :)

  • I WOULD SAY EDIT THE VIDEO AND MIX THE SCENES OR POSSIBLY GET SOME SCENES FROM THE USER WHO DID THE VIDEOS (UMA THURMAN IN BATMAN & ROBIN 1 + 2) AND PERHAPS USE THE BALL MUSIC THEME OR THE OPENING THEME WHERE SHE KILLS WOODRUE. I WOULD DO IT BUT I DONT KNOW HOW. IF THIS SOUNDS OK WIV U AND U WOULD BE HAPPY TO DO IT, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

  • Of course, I was going to perform in that segment but they cut me out because they feared I would outshine Julie, Angela AND Steve. SOURGRAPES!!

  • Julie looks so excited as Angie finishes!! They're both so fabulous.

  • There's just no talent like that thes days...

  • what was the name of the songs she was sininging

  • thanks for posting this ... two of my favorite stars ... singing two wonderful songs ...

  • It takes guts for anyone to follow Julie Andrews signing a song, but Angela could and did. Two very classy and outrageously talented ladies.

  • Who could follow Julie Andrews and hold her own. Love Angela she needs to be awarded an honorary Oscar and Emmy!!!

  • @Alaniebee And Grammy!

  • How many "singers" could do this today? ZERO.

  • I Don't Want To Know has long been one of my favorite songs. The best version I have ever heard was the late Laurie Beechman. She was a great talent who left the world far too soon. Too bad the rest of the score to Dear World is God awful.

  • Two of my favorites on one clip.

  • I absolutely love these two ladies they are Legends! I feel so happy that i have watched this! thankyou so much for this video! god bless you x

  • How incredible they both are to be able to emote these songs from their seats. (And how awkward to make them!)

  • I wish i could just break into song so amazingly.

  • Great Ladys !!!

  • Este video es increíble. Estas dos señoras son únicas.......Muchas gracias por compartir este hermoso y raro video.

  • Wow! Thank you so much for this! My two favorite ladies!

  • Angela Lansbury and Julie Andrews. SUCH LEGENDS! I can't believe I have just been lucky enough to witness this.

  • I feel like honored to have just watched that. They are just so legendary.

  • Wow, this is cool --- I really wish we had actors like these two still around! Where'd all the good people go?

  • To be able to belt those notes as Angie does at the end is amazing enough... But to do it SITTING DOWN is remarkable

  • Gives me goosebumps! What remarkable women!

  • all the best ones are british aren't they?

  • @KaiGuent When British is the only thing you are offered and

it's shoved down your throat I guess

you don't have very much choice in the matter.

  • @KaiGuent I guess, in a way, that's true. But only a few are truly good. The young ones from Britain these days are not that good any more.

  • Thank you for posting this again. I loved this when it was on YouTube a couple of years ago. It's wonderful to see it and hear it again.

  • It doesn't get better than this. Julie singing "Say A Prayer" and Angela "I Don't Want To Know" live. Resplendent.

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I would absolutely love it if the powers that be released The Julie Andrews Hour on DVD. I would be the first to own it. They just don't have too many moments or shows like those of yester-year anymore.

  • @hearttoheart4me

Apparently, it's extremely fuzzy who holds the rights to the shows, which is why they haven't been released... Too bad, I'd buy them too. The day they came out.

  • Thanks for posting; this was a real treat.

  • Here's the link to Angela singing this live from the show: watch?v=vhBsRsNN39Q

(just add this to the url)

  • Congrats on your 5th Tony, Angela! By the way, someone else posted a rare recording of Angela singing this song love from the 1969 show. It's awesome!

  • Glad you put it back; I missed it.

  • Angela takes my breath away <3

  • WOW - im sooo suprised by Angela Lansburys voice - i mean we all know she can act and is THE QUEEN of broadway, but i never knew she had pipes like this! I think it is fair to say she COMPLETLY OUTSUNG Julie Andrews in this paticular clip by quite a bit. Love them both, the best of the British.

  • @Teezer44

Angela Lansbury has been well-known for her musical abilities for quite some time. She starred on Broadway in musicals in the 1960s and 1970s -- notably Mame, the early 70s revival of Gypsy, and Sweeney Todd. She also starred in the Disney musical film "Bedknobs And Broomsticks".

  • julie andrews has a similar in talking like audrey hepburn.. hehe

and angela lansbury is a legend of theathre...

they gve colors to d world of theathre and inspiration to every perfomers..

    godbless them..

  • Angela really is one of the greatest performers of our time. Not only could she sing, but she had an extremely powerful voice, and I think we all can agree on her acting abilities. Look at Julie's face when Angela hits that last note!

  • I am currently reading Julie's autobiography, Home and just read the bit where Say A Prayer was deleted from My Fair Lady. On 5/9, I am going to see Angela in Blithe Spirit. And...I remember this episode of Julie' series as a teenager. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • she is soo good in blithe spirit

i was at the opening night

    she was amazing

  • Did you catch a sight of Julie there, coz she was there at the opening night as well.

  • omigod no

ive seen her live b4 though

but i sat beside len cariou!!

    and i saw karl malden

  • Angela Lansbury is simply the best actress ever, on the screen, television and on stage, Great video, thanks..

  • agreed

  • This is brilliant! Thank you soooo much for preserving these gems. Can anybody tell me who in the current crop of young Broadway performers can compare to these wonderful ladies? Can we have some hope for the future? Or does the problem lie not in the talent but rather, in the material that is being written?

  • Amazing, live, incredible! Go Angie! What charm, what style and mostly, what talent.

  • I'm currently playing the Countess Aurelia in "Dear World" and good God, did this make me cry.

  • And by "made me cry" I meant that Angela moved me to tears, not that it was so terrible it made me cry! Angela's just so brilliant ... gah.

  • can't get enough of Angela. so special that SOME of her early broadway roles were captured on video like this. geeez. what a genius

  • Angela rocks!!!! she is my most favourite actress ever!!!!

  • i love you Angela and Julie

  • Incredible performance from both Julie and Angela. That was live! Fantastic. Thanks for sharing this clip!

  • Julie Andrews and Angela Lansbury sitting round drinking tea reminiscing about their legendary Broadway roles and bursting into rare songs, I would have given anything to have been there! Magical:)

  • Isn't Angela the one that played Mrs.Lovett in Sweeney Todd? Not the movie, but the play?

  • Yees. Angela was first actress in role of mrs. Lovett in Sondheim Sweeney Todd. (in 1979) ;) :)

  • this is GOLD!

    thank you so much

  • You are welcome! :)
