MY point is, in almost any other line of work you can copy your work and continue to make money, LONG AFTER you're done working. make em' earn their money by touring.

alright, well you've proved me wrong, but then you as well as anyone know that recording, writing, etc. a song isn't as simple as it seems, and for someone to just download your song for free or not give you the right dues that you deserve as an artist isn't fair. it's true that most musicians should make their money via touring, but recording isn't as simple as it seems like you're deeming it.

Recording a song isn't so bad. Just get in the studio, play your part with the click, respect and listen to the engineers, and it'll be a breeze. Same with writing one, just create a part, and then create other parts of the song and have your band work with it. Just takes patience and understanding, it's not as hard as you're deeming, my friend.
