Oh come on. It's also not a n-oh-vel. Or a m-oh-nth. So it should be nanahwrimuh? And rye, which is how you're pronouncing it, is not the same vowel sound as that of the i in writing. If one replaced the m in rhyme with a t, it is not pronounced write. I hope that made sense.
