  • You are hot

  • are you stoned? i am

  • I hope I'm lucky enough not to experience the pain you had and that the one that stung me is not poisonous!

  • I was exercising barefoot when I felt a sting bet my big toe and the 2nd toe on my left feet. I found out it was a 3 inch scorpion that looked like a bark scorpion. I called the Banner Hotline Poison Control and was told that the scorpion in the state I'm in are not poisonous unlike the ones in AZ. I was told to wash my foot in soap and water and put cold compress against it. It's now over an hr and I'm still ok, no agonizing pain, no blurred vision, just a stinging sensation once in a while.

  • Bark scorpion is as dangerous as scorpions get in the US. Which is funny because they are also mild. I just watched a guy handling one of these and he says he has never been stung in the many years he handled em.

  • I've just recently been stung by what seems like to be a scorpion, I had immediate pain and burning, then my toe got swollen, then I had an anxiety attack, all just about 2 hours ago, im 12

  • I have been stung by these :/

  • You look like you need sleep.

  • but are you a professional assassin ?

  • You look like michael fassbender and thats a complement because that is one handsome mother fucker

  • i just stepped on one barefooted about 30 min ago, i'm lucky i have heavily callused feet, or i would be in the hospital by now

  • If you didn't have a British accent and you just had an American accent, you'd have been creepyish.

Something about you Brits is just so damned charming to us Americans though.

To be honest I think it was just the robe that made you look a little creepy.

  • Are you a homo?

I mean, I didn't even notice the robe until you brought it up!

  • @borisbulldog Haha why would that make you think I was gay?

  • dude i got stung like 3 times last night and i hope it wasn't a bark scorpion because I'm 12 and my nose, tongue and bottom lip is numb

  • all the idiots on here going "It's a sting not a bite", no shit Sherlock, read the first annotation of the video and the description, he knows it was a sting. Try using your brain before making a idiotic comment.

  • 4.39 am . Ok, I am here whit the same problem. I have 6 hours later , and I can sleep because I am scary and the pain is ...........

  • Does anyone read the description it says that he knows it is a sting

  • This guy's a moron. Scorpions STING. They don't bite.

  • Lol great video, you are a natural. But the truth is you were STUNG. Scorpions do not bite. "Lucky us" lmao

  • The best part of this video was the first second when you adjusted your chair.

  • It could have been worst, it could have been a Brown recluse spider.

  • dude your a wussy

  • @GamerOnDeathrow bark scorpions hurt like hell

  • so this scorpion is not deadly for adult humans?

  • Thank god I'm not 6-7 just got stung last night by one. Still hurts. "You know"

  • OMG, it's Jean Claude Van Damme!!

  • @greyghost84 Guile lol

  • Thanks

  • Uuuhmmm.........Did it "bite" you, or "sting" you.

I'm thinking you meant to say "I was stung by a bark scorpion."

  • @JustinBringit . Probably best to actually watch the video.

  • @snpmurray ,

Missed your annotation first time watching.

  • Thanks for the video. It eased my concerns a bit. I just got stung about 20 minutes ago. I'm developing the tingling in my limbs, but I'm not really feeling the full force of the pain yet. Hope it's not too bad.

  • Just wondering how you made out...I lived in Tucson for 20 years and was also tagged by a bark scorpion. My story is in NO WAY as happy as yours...I was in the emergency room for 12 hours. The pain was unbearable, and my breathing became rapid and shallow. The bark scorpion in Arizona was just upgraded...from "extremely" dangerous to "deadly" dangerous. We all react differently to venom...but I have a deep, abiding respect for that of the bark scorpion.

  • I was just stung by one. They're a bitch my friend.

  • @akawond3r Me too! On Friday morning I was taking the garbage can to the curb, and on got me on the ankle. Serious pain for sure.

  • You are sexy! Damn!

  • @fairhillnorrie no ima ghost on the internet >.>

  • so...how do we get rid off the poison ????

  • Found one of these bark scorpions on my leg last night while I was viewing a movie. Out of the corner of my eye I saw it thought it was a cricket that snuck into the house, looked closer.... And I freaked the hell out. I prob should have been calm but I ripped my pants off. 2 minutes later it was dead...

  • Good video. I've been seeing em in my cabin a lot this year. It's only a matter of time.

  • Did that scorpion sting you with some Xanax? Morphine? lol

  • They don't bite. They sting. I was stung 4 times while sleeping because it dropped down fromt he ceiling It felt like a pinch and then the burn intensified and there were red patches and 4 red bumps one the first sting was more profound. within an hour burning numbness moved up and down my arm and then my hands and feet went numb. the next day it felt like a bad tetnus shot and pain radiated up and down my arm, but 2 tabs of motrin took the pain away.

  • I got stung last night by one in the ring finger. took a pair of pliers and grabbed it by the tail and froze it with computer duster spray. went back to sleep.

  • well adults really dont die on these bites only infants....

  • u sound very intelligentgn!

  • @SCIMECAxPRODUCTIONS not all that glitters is gold

  • believe me I've been there, my right hand were numb for a bout two days >.<

  • I was stung on my toe this morning by a bark scorpion at 5:30am. It is now 9:30am. My entire foot, ankle, and leg up to my knee is incredibly painful and has a constant tingle. I 100% agree with you on the level of pain. It is absolutely off the charts.

  • Only thing we've found that helps the pain are antihistamines. We keep the Contact dissolving strips in the medicine cabinet, and put one under the tongue right away after a sting. The sting will still hurt like hell, but it takes the edge off and seems to help stop the spread.

  • crazy i got stung in the same spot...wow.

  • It is now six hours later and the only mark is a tiny red spot. There is a much larger area of pain and slight swelling and also a bit of numbness when I tap it. For the last two hours I have been very drowsy and feeling the need to just lay my head down. When I went back to bed, the stinging and pain were almost unbearable and the muscle around the bite site was actually twitching.

  • You type remarkably well for someone who just got stung and has a numb arm

  • @snpmurray lol. Indeed.

  • Around 5 a.m. I felt something wet in the bend of my elbow that stung and woke me up. At first I thought it was my cat's nose, (remember, I was sleep-groggy) but he was nowhere near my elbow. I lay there in twilight sleep as my brain processed the wet, stingy feeling in the soft curve of my elbow until it woke me completely. I got up and tore my bed apart but never found the culprit.

  • @MrSupercows hahahhaha i lost it when he said that.

  • very large removed argument im guessing

  • scopin in my room!!!!!!

  • wtf u smoking scotts ftw +_+

  • stfu with the jesus god and devil shit scorpion is just a insect

  • @Someto1 ARACHNID.

  • @Someto1 arachnid. Not insect. Locust is your classic bible insect.

  • @Someto1 its not a insect is actually a arachnid.

  • @Someto1 you retard its an Arachnid! xD

  • "They don't purposely seek humans to sting."

    YES THEY DO.

They also do drugs and worship Satan. And are neo-nazis.

  • hahaha i knew it!

  • Whats the reason why they attack people while they sleepingM

  • i know the feeling i got stung last night on my toe and that sucker was hiding under my rug on the floor i was looking around to what happen seen the thing walking on out, iI killed it i was up all night because of the pain.

  • May be you are an ass

  • Compare to the sting of a fire ant and a scorpion, which one hurts more? Just being curious.

  • Scorpion because you have jolting pain after it stings you and numbness

  • I have been stung 3 times on 3 different occasions by bark scorpions. 1st time on my big toe in the middle of the night leaving the bathroom. 2nd time in the middle of the night on my cheek, rolled over onto it on my pillow....the numbness around the sting site lasted about 2 weeks. This last time on my right ring finger, felt something on my leg and reached down to brush it away and it stung me. This last time was the worst so far since it happened 3 weeks ago and my finger is still numb!

  • Thanks for the info. I just moved to AZ and now feel better prepared should I ever have an encounter with the nasty bark scorpion.

  • can someone tell me what stung me??? idk i spent 3 weeks in mexico something stung me while i was sleeping didnt feel it but until i came back my leg feels all numb and looks red and feels real painful. idk but i think it was a scorpion.

  • probly mosquitos they come out at night !

  • maybe mosquito im not kidding

  • "I was lucky enough to be bitten by a bawk scorpion."

That accent is wonderful. Bawk scorpion!!

  • Not sure why but I have always had a fear of scorpions. Yet, Ive never seen a real one in my life outside of a zoo. I live in kentucky and have heard lots of stories of them in peoples beds and shoes.. just so scary to me!

  • I saw 1 in my bed tonight and luckely it made a noise and i turned the light on and i got away that it didnt sting me so i slept on the sofa later that night.

  • I was stung three times at home by a scorpion. once in my shoe. i felt fine. but i could literally feel the venom creeping up my thigh and it started to ache. once it hit my groin my eyes started to dart back and fourth and i felt all twitchy. i could not drink or eat for two days because my throat was so tingly, it felt like pins n needles everytime i ate! i didnt kill the scorpion though. just let it go outside.

  • Im scared to sleep now tho :(

  • ya looks like a bald sylvester stalone

  • just got stung an hour ago. the bastard got me several times on my neck and shoulder, waking me out of a sound sleep! yes, i was attacked in my own bed! nevermind the countless times i've camped and slept on the ground and never a prob with them until tonight...and yes, it sure does hurt! but i found it and now it's at my mercy, trapped in a fruit jar...

btw, i'm in hayden, az and my arm hurts too much to bother with the shift key so please don't jump me for my lack of CAPS.

  • i got stung by once is it hurt pretty bad (since when i was i 6 years old kis) my mom take me to hospital and the doctor inject some medicine to make me feel better.

  • stung last night. but at the knuckle of pinky. same symptoms, numb just to elbowand only that half. its been 20 hrs now. guess ill be ok.

  • i just got stung 3 times like 5 minutes ago it fucking hurt i was stung on my side i looked it up it was a texas bark scorpion nasty little fucker when i got up he was coming towards me i got my knife stabbed him then flushed him

  • No bite marks becuase scorpions sting with the tail.

  • haha sorry, I see you annotation now.

  • I have been bitten a number of times by scorpions. When I was a teenager I was told in the south of Mexico by very old people, to crush a garlic clove and rub it in the area. The first time I was bitten by a scorpion I didn't hesitate and went right to the kitchen and did as I was told. Indeed, it was unbeareably painful but after I applied the garlic liquid in the area, the pain went away in seconds. I have done that a number of times and works.

  • I got bit by a bark scorpion last night or rather this morning just before 12:30. It took me an hour with a blacklight to find the thing. What sucked was I was just about to doze off, too. I spent the rest of the night with my light on. And yes, it actually hurt. I said 'ow' twice. Been 15 hours now and I've felt drowsy and sluggish all day, but no swelling anymore. The only swelling was a small doughnut-shaped mark with a tiny hole where the stinger hit me just under my right tricep. Phx, AZ.

  • You may have found a bark scorpion but highly unlikely it is what stung you. Certainly one of most painful experiences of my life, no simple "ow". I leapt off the bed and screamed like a girl. Plus bark scorpions leave no mark and no swelling, unless you are allergic, in which case that mark would unlikely be gone in 12 hours. More likely you were drowsy from sleeping with the light on ?

  • No, it was the scorpion. These 'ow''s I said were loud 'ow''s. Yes, it was very painful, hence why I spent an hour looking for the bugger and catching it. The next morning five hours later there was no inflammed mark. Just a tiny red dot with pain going up and down my arm. It hurt for a good day. I still have the scorpion. And the drowsiness was a different drowsiness I'd never experienced before. The whole experience was surreal.

  • fair enough. Yes, big ows, Id concur on that. Glad you got through it okay

  • Yep, just got two stings from one little bastard while cleaning my garage here in Arizona. Right index and middle finger, and I believe my reaction was "Ow! WHAT THE F--!?!?" and i swiped at the top of my hand because I thought I was getting bitten. Of course, there was no insect there. When I looked into the box, I found the perpetrator, and checked the web. Thanks for the info. It's been about two hours. The has is now burning and tender in the entire area 6inches behind the stings.

  • You should wierd work gloves before you cleaning in garage (most of insect live there) oh well i got stung by once fortunately i has my work gloves and is doesn't stung in to my skin :) (got stung by once times before, i learned that damd mistake, also when i see those out side or in side my house i would definity kill it, cuz if you not kill them they may hurt orther people.)

  • does anyone have any idea how I can get rid of these critters. I hate using harsh insecticides in my home.

  • what do you think is harsh about insecticides? they are natural plant extract derivatives. They wont hurt you or your pets or your children. You can try diatomaceous earth, but its not as good, and its messy. You just been stung.....so now you can make informed decisions, yes? Insecticides, or more stings. Thems your choices, realistically.

  • I have used insectiicides, but what kind kills them. I have heard about what can keep them away and I have tried several types but they keep coming back. Maybe theres a nest somewhere. We live about 100 yards from the San Pedro River. This could be the problem.

  • Though desert creatures scorpions will gravitate towards water, as a lot of food sources are there too (crickets love dampness, and scorpions LOVE crickets). You'll probably need regular treatments by an extermination company to create a chemical barrier around your property, but be sure your house is sealed before they spray. Otherwise, they'll drive bugs into your house via weepholes, and the scorpions will follow them in to hunt them down.

  • Yes, I have sprayed and since then, I have only seen one. I live so close to the San Pedro River and we have tons of critters.... everywhere. During the monsoon especially. I have installed new windows (my home is very old) and sealed the home as much as I could. I never want to get stung again by a bark. I still have some numbness on my left finger. The pain I felt was the worst pain I have ever felt. Thanks for the info!

  • You'll laugh at me, but lavender does the trick. In the Provence, where scorpions are common, they use it to keep them out, it works great against mosquito's as well. I've heard.

  • Thks I will have to try this. The Mosquito's will be coming to visit us in the upcoming months too.

  • I got bit yesterday by a bark scorpion.... but I ended up in the hospital. AZ

  • it depends on the scorpions but death is rare....it's usually just pain and maybe some swelling

  • True. Mostly only infants at serious risk of fatality.

  • i thought if u get stung by a scorpion its fatal unless u get to a hospital

  • Im alive

  • I pulled a quilt up off the floor to put over me. It must have been on the quilt, and landed on my pillow. Then bit me when I rolled onto it in bed.....and not in the good way ;)

  • got stung by one today. fuckin little thing got me right on my foot. it basically feels like my foot is asleep and its been like that for about 8 hours so i dont think its that bad. lets hope i still think that tommorrow. :(

  • it will be better tomorrow. Although you may have some hip pain you cant account for at first...it'll be from walking funny today

  • its alot better. :)))

    and no hip painn!

  • Bravo! Glad it wasn't too bad. Little bastards, aren't they?

  • omg i was stung by a scorpion once on my thumb. the tingling up the arm was excruciating.omg i cried for 2hrs straight!!!luckily the pain lasted 24hrs

  • about 10 baby sorions crawled in my pants and stung me my entire body was tingleing the entire day itdidnt bother me but it was outragously hilarios

  • Thanks for the video. I was stung six hours ago. I rolled on top of the bugger (he was sharing my bed for some reason). The pain is incredible at the sting area and my hands, feet, lips and tongue are tingly and numb.

I'm in Arizona. This was a bark scorpion. I found him, crushed him and flushed him.

Did you experience tingling? How long should I expect to suffer?

  • yes mine tingled. It will be only marginally better tomorrow, but much netter the day after that, gone the next after that most likely. Time to call bug man

  • u should be an acter all bullshit aside

  • i asume your not talking about the Liocheles australasiae. also known as the bark or wood scorpion? ive read that the sting from one of these is pretty lame. does anyone know the effects of being stung by one of these? i know there from north queensland area and that they're parthenogenic. i have 2 of them you see. they're tiny tiny. i wanna pick it up. but you've put me off a little.lol

  • Your assumpton is correct. Centuroides sculputatus

Not familiar with australasian fauna, no.

  • Much worse my friend. The sting and the pain that followed it for several days were the worst pain experience of my life.

  • ZombielsHungry. I just got stung by a little fucker 30 minutes ago and I live in AZ. I thought I stepped on a thumbtack at first but then felt a bit of a sharp pain. I cant explain the feel of poison. Now my foot burns and hurts when I walk on it. It's not quite as bad as you'd imagine.

  • I just got stung on the foot by what I think to be an arizona bark scorpion., It hurts and burns and my front toe is kinda numb. Any advice?

  • I do not know the answer to the question you ask. I can tell you that bark scorpion stings are instantly agonizing, you WILL jump out of your skin in agony if stung by this creature.

If invertebrate threat scares you, and you have a choice, choose against arizona on this strike....they are a real and constant threat that you can neither fix nor exclude with any certainty. Worse still with regard to infants and toddlers

  • Psst. The Description :P

  • no, I am not a doctor

  • Are you a doctor?

  • thank god i live somewhere where no natural desastars or scorpions can get me lol

  • Arizona

  • I was asleep and one crawled ontop of my eye and stung me last night. it hurt like a mother fucker

  • pschodog3. please tell me you're joking.

  • no i'm not.

  • I think awhile back one stung my finger while I was at the pc I never saw it but earlier today one went under my foot in the kitchen trying to hide lmao so I caught it ( Not certain if its THIS species ) but from what I can tell it is..

Anyways the only thing I felt from it was a slight burning sensation in that area for 5 mins and it was all good.

So yeah was just trying to figure out what kind if was cause I wanna keep it.. :>

  • no, slight burining for five minutes is most definately not a bark scorpion I reckon.

  • Thanks, Good to know. I have Bark scorpions that show up in my shower stall. I was wondering what to do in case of a sting. Many Thanks. Hope you healed up OK.

  • I was stung by one just over a year ago on my thumb. As you said - AGNOZINGLY painful. All the way up to my shoulder felt like it was in a vise. Pain lasted about 16 hours then most subsided. My thumb however remained numb for almost over 3 months.

as for allergic reactions - pretty much impossible for a reaction on first sting. But your body then creates antibodies, and if you are allergic and get stung again - the problems can come in.

  • Thank you. I wish that were true, but you will see that anaphylaxis can occur with first exposure to any agent. The mechanism of acquired immunity IS as you describe it, but as you may also understand, anaphylaxis is immunity gone mad. Human bodies, crazy machines well beyond most of the tidy rules we would like them to observe.

  • are u ok now?

  • yes, thank you

  • i thought scorpions sting not bite

  • your right. I wasnt quite at my best, you might imagine

  • i would nvr go near a scorpion (unless its for money) :]

  • I have two C. Vittatus (bark scorpion) and i've been stung twice. Feels alot how you describe it.

  • are u english?

i thought they could be fatal?

  • Aye,I'm English.

Apparently only fatal to very young children, simply very painful to the rest of us.

  • And i'm worried about my emperor scorp stinging me and thtas only meant to be like a bee sting lol

    Unlucky mate lol

How did you know it was a bark scorpion, did u see it or have u been stung before?

  • Arizona poison control center told me over the phone it was surely a bark scorpion on the basis of the symptoms. I should have called them right away instead of messing around on the internet.

  • yeah u probably should have, i wouldnt take any chances if i got stung saying that i just handled my flat rock scorp a couple hours ago lol

  • I got stung long ago in my little finger by a big yellow scorpion.

and yes the whole arm numb.

  • Are You In Florida Because The Florida Bark Scorpion Is Highly Venomous I Would Have Gone Straight to The Hospital
