That would be Corporal Chuck Boyle played by Roy Stuart. He died at 78 on Christmas Day 2005. He did a lot of stage and theater work.

Yep. That's the one. I remember Roy Stuart in a commercial (1960s or 70s) that was advertising some foot deodorant. He pulls off one shoe, and his dog feigns passing out over the odor. Funny. Thank you for the information.
