yep the 1970's i would know jonny benches running after a home run still today, once I was sitting in the green seat, in left feild at the ball he hit landed about 30 feet from be looked like a rope and the ball beat the sound getting there,LOL well almost thanks
@joedits1 Good catch, you just saved me some research! This also means Pete Rose wasn't even in this game. He was busy having a 4-for-5 game against the Padres in Philadelphia that day.
What year is this from? I'm going to guess circa 1977 or 1978 because I saw Mario Soto warming up in the bullpen, and he was a rookie in '77. Any idea what the argument was about and what Red was ejected? Great stuff! Thanks for posting!
First game in Riverfront for me !ug 12, 1971 against Cubs in doubleheader.
Bench homered in opener....best defensive catcher EVER!

My first game was at Riverfront on fan appreciation day in 1981. The Braves Dale Murphy hit a solo HR in the 9th and the Reds lost 1-0.

This game is from June 13, 1980. Amazing footage of the Bench homer.
