  • "this is cutting edge"

    lol

  • You look like a fucking cowboy... lmao

  • Old man is right. Anything customer-facing requires professional attire, whether it's internally or out in the field.

    I love CYE. :)

  • get with it ya old fart!

  • Funny!!!

And I must say I think exactly same way about 'casual friday' !!!

  • "I'm here to change my will, and a lot of money is involved. It's very important, you know."

"Well, we don't treat you casually."

"Then why the hell are you dressed that way?"

And that is why people pay attention to their clothing. It sends a message about how seriously someone takes the rest of his life.

  • i find it strange how seriously people take their clothes.

  • Pretty sure this guy was the voice of the old man inPixar's "Up".

  • @HammerOvThor

    i'm pretty sure you're correct!

  • OMG JUST REALISED THAT THIS GUY IS LIKE MR WUNCLER FROM THE BOONDOCKS !!!

thumbs up if u agree !

  • @turd114

because it's the same voice actor =P

  • Agree, you dress correctly for business and business is done. Dress like you have just got out of bed then do one.

  • props to the old guy. i'd prefer a suit over casual dress at the workplace any day. it's all about professionalism.

  • What season is this on???

  • you belong in Dallas

  • An estate law emergency!! I love that!

  • what season is this?

  • Pretty Good, Prettty Prettttaaayy Pretttaaayyy Good.

  • My dad was EXACTLY like Ed Asner in this. Too funny. Bless you dad wherever you may be.

  • "But you're not at home."

    Argument won.

  • ha this always reminded me of Joe Cabot..."You're not Mr. Purple, you're Mr. PINK"

  • Love this old guy. Spot on sir. Too much of this crap going on..

  • @spectre0075 Thank you. Last I checked, I don't think they hand out law degrees at Burlington Coat Factory.

  • @spideymayne You regularly check if they hand out law degrees at Burlington Coat Factory?

  • ED!

  • Most law firms don't have casual Friday's for this very reason. lol

  • This was the very first episode of CYE that I saw, and I was determined to see every single one afterward. Great stuff.

  • Yeah! FUCK Individuality!

  • @TrixRabbi1 Ummm, where was the individuality, I missed it.

  • "You're J.R. Joel Reynolds, right? You belong in Dallas, not LA."

HAHAHAHAHA - what a fucking prick!

  • The should have started it when Larry asked about the Japanese and orchids. Asners reply is the funniest line

  • If you come back on a Monday or a Tuesday...

LOL...damn this entire clip is golden

  • I person likes casual Fridays

  • They started doing this crap at my bank. I want my bank teller in a suit and tie, not plain clothes. Its completely unprofessional and I don't like it.

  • ha ha look like a fuckin cowboy

  • Casual Friday Rules! Suits are for Self-Important Wankers! There's no correlation between Dress and Ability! You could put a Monkey in a Suit doesn't make him any more smarter!

  • @Cashback13 I'd rather deal with a monkey in a suit than a guy that thinks he can come to his work place dress like a damn fool

  • @SouthernRaider11 You're joking, isn't it?

  • @SouthernRaider11 You'd rather deal with a professionally-dressed incompetent person than a casually-dressed expert? LOL. Remind me to never trust you with a dime of my money, sir.

  • @spideymayne First of all, if he were an expert in the business world he would know how to dress in an office setting. If he's coming to fix my plumbing, now that’s a different story. And second of all, it's just a saying, not to be taken literally, jackass. And I highly doubt that "spideymayne" has many dimes in his little piggy bank to be worried about investing with me anyways.

  • @SouthernRaider11 Social norms have absolutely nothing to do with his skill as a lawyer. You'd dress appropriately for court because there are certain formal guidelines for court. They're in an -office-. Ed Asner's problem with the lawyer's dress has to do more with Ed Asner's values based on professional dress than anything of relevance to his actual case. If a plumber came dressed as a fisherman, that would have literally no impact on his taking care of your sink.

  • @spideymayne But I still remain firm on my beliefs. Their are plenty of well qualified lawyers and if I'm going to work with one I'd rather him be professionally dressed in an office setting.

  • @SouthernRaider11 Congratulations. I'm sure you'll do well. I apologize for my shot as well; it was a bit much.

My point is to not judge a book by its cover. That said, I'll concede that I'd prefer for someone I'm dealing with to be professionally dressed in an office setting as well. Fair?

  • @spideymayne Yes, that's fair. And I also agree that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but it sure helps if its got both qualities.

  • @SouthernRaider11 That said, given your comment on my SN and thinking you automatically know something about me, I think it goes without saying that you:

    1) Probably make similar presumptions as Ed Asner here has all the time;

    2) Are an idiot.

You're welcome to respond if you have an actual point to add. Take your time.

  • @spideymayne Well, as said this is my opinion so we can go back and forth to the end of time on this issue to the end of time and obviously keep this rather entertaining. I do however apologize on the stab at your personal value, I celebrated with my brother on finally getting into dental school last night, so I was out of character. But your point 1, is stating the obvious. Point 2, I may not be the smartest man in dental school, but I got in.

  • @Cashback13 'more smarter' huh? Dressing appropriately shows people that you're serious about what you're doing. It's more professionaler.

  • @WalterLiddy It's called hypersensitivity and judging a book by it's cover!

  • he should have told that stumpy bald bitch off especially after he said he lost the account.

  • dat old guy is soooo old school!! i love it!!!

  • "I love your wife" LOL

  • That's Ed Asner all right. He's a fucking tool in real life as well !!!

  • Anyone know which episode this is from??

  • Yes! Hornberger!!

  • I was hoping he would pull off some Boondocks shit, but I realize the actual person is WAY more intimidating than a cartoon--though they don't look that different suprisingly.

  • I love it! I work in an office where it's "casual friday" everyday, and has been ever since before I started working there in the mid-80s. Sweatshirts, jeans, Nikes, and in summer tank tops, shorts, and flip flops rule the day there. I've been one of the very few people there that actually dresses every day for that place like I actually work in an office (shirt and tie, nice shoes, dress slacks) instead of on a loading dock.

  • @Peshkatari

Well done you sir! Classing it up is a dying art; and besides, I'm sure the folks at occupational health and safety would have a FIELD day if they heard someone was wearing flip flops on the docks.....might hurt their toes. ;b

  • Ed Asner - I don't give a damn if it's half a day a week

  • What's with that freaky high voice at 0:31-6?

  • Instructs on style and presents his collar gap. Thumbs up!

  • 1 person looks like a fucking cowboy.

  • forget the braclet larry, there isn't going to be a braclet larry LOLLLL

  • Hahaha this is awesome. I interviewed with UBS on a Friday and they were dressed like slobs while I was in a suit, which made me feel very uncomfortable. So fucking stupid, they should show this video to every big company who practices this shit.

  • I agree with the old dude.... I'm not into this casual friday shit.

  • Its Pete Hornberger

  • love it

  • I love when he say's "This is cutting edge" quietly.

  • old man is a psychopath..

  • @spectre0075 cool :-)

  • Love this scene. I know it's only a joke but the old guy has a point. Lawyers cost a lot of money to deal with and should look professional

  • "But you're not at Home!...."

  • one of my favorite scenes

  • LOU!!!

  • The old guy stole the show.

  • Comment removed

  • As soon as he walks in :30 LOL

  • i hate it when people judge you on your appearance but this show is always funny

  • LOL.. doesn't mince his words... wonder if that fucking cowboy can sue him for swearing and some kinda of personal harrassment.... LOL. (naw.. i dun think so..).

  • thanks for posting this, one of my favorite scenes of all time.

  • The well dressed lawyers screw you. They're wearing your money.

  • I LOVE this scene

  • "you should be sorry because you just lost my account" go wrangle somebody else's--LMAO

  • Ed Asner is/was the shit.

  • "ahuh I'm a little puzzled. ahh whats this outfit here, is it a Halloween" HAHHAHAHA

  • You look like a fuckin cowboy

  • I completely agree.

  • Lol I love this show! This guy's a funny character. Still I think it's interesting it's assholes like this guy who make things like casual friday not possible. spoiler ahead: luckily he dies of a heart attack lol

  • You go wrangle somebody else's.

    haha

  • HORNBERGER!!!

  • one of the funniest moments in television history

  • Indeed.
