MY SONG!!!! Not very many of us REAL COWBOYS/COWGIRLS left because a REAL COWBOY/COWGIRL would NEVER hurt or harm his/her horse! WE UNDERSTAND the importance of our Companions and we honor, cherish and will protect them no matter what!
So if you "claim" to be a Cowboy/Cowgirl and you believe in ANY kind of horse slaughtering YOU ARE NOT A REAL COWBOY/COWGIRL I wish we were back then, YOU get mad at me, we take it to the street at HIGH NOON so I could teach you RESPECT for your horse! ONLY IF!
The Highwaymen are very good. Wish they put out more albums and songs like this one. Why didn't who ever post this give credit to all that are singing? Waylon and Kris.
A cowboy a muslim and a native american walk into a bar. They start talking and the indian says once my people were many now they are few. the mulism says my people were once few and now are many why do youy suppose that is? The cowboy who had not talked till then spoke up and said i reckon its cause we aint played cowboys and mulims yet but were fixin to
Johnny and Willie are on here for sure, but so are Kris, and Ole Waylon. I guess that makes it a Highwaymen tune. J.R, W.A., you sure are missed around here.
Give credit where credit is due. The amazing Ed Bruce wrote this awesome song. I like this recording very much, but give a listen to the magnificent voice of Ed Bruce, the songwriter.

He blazed the trail with Lewis and Clark
And eyeball to eyeball old Wyatt backed down
He stood shoulder to shoulder with Travis in Texas
And rode with the Seventh when Custer went down
