Under your leadership, Amercia has lost 298 soldiers and sailors in 2009 in the Afghan theatre -nearly twice as much as Bush did in his worst year of 2008, with 155 casualties.
Now, as CIC, youre attempting to court martial four SEALs for giving a murdering terrorist a bloody lip????
After three months, you think this "leader' could make a decsion. This administration is a dishonorable joke.
We must allow Israel losing some wars for US to win some crucial ones. A good war that Israel should lose is a war lose to US then a lose to local people living with them originally in the region. Americans must rob the war financial bankers, Israel, so more people can evolve into a new era for the future of their children.
There is only one way to deal with those bastard terrorists. To deal with them, To deal with Them and again To deal with them. Until they get it. Finally, Obama seem to have understood this. Let's just do it and have this behind us like world war 1 and 2. Hopefully, we will have to clean them for a while. I bet you they will be showing up again in the future as well. And, we will have to deal with them at that time as well. May freedom reign in our world.
i have already finish many times my popcorns and coke. You are too late, you will be too late forever. the world is not like when your damn prophet was living in this world. Time has changed. if you have not learnt yet by now, do not worry it will sink slowly but surely. seat and watch with your popcorn and coke.
All of this would go away with one simple solution. All of these dramas, Iraq, Afghanistan, foriegn oil dependancy, the sham of global warming, our manufacturing base being dismantled, unchecked wetbacks flooding over our borders etc. etc. are fomented by those at the top. If you think our gov't is "the top" then you are very naiiive. I'm talking about those in the shadows that run the world's banks and by proxy, the world's gov'ts- The elite banksters in the shadows.
Force of arms will never work against these terrorists. Every time we bomb a village or town we kill somebodies brother, uncle, father, son, etc. which cteates more terrorists. We need to gtfo now.
To win is to simply change are stupid tactics by 1. Introduce carpet bombing and driving the population into the mountains. 2. Use napalm 3. Bring in bulldozers to level their poppy fields 4. rechannel their rivers 5. remove the Karzai government 6. Destroy infrastructure 7. Destroy any ports and ships they might have 8. level their air fields 9. use a fleet of UAVs to harass any movement at night 10. let our troops loose to light it up.
The only threat exists to our troops. This war is as unnecessary as Iraq. We are now spreading it into pakistan and threatening Iran! We have DEA agents destroying hash production farms and poppy fields! We should have a small number of special forces doing intelligence gathering until the world trusts the US again. His tone is becoming more and more like Bush's everyday! What happened to the "anti-war" left?
What are you talking about? The world does not distrust the US! And moreover; he sounds nothing like Bush. Bush listened to his advisors, sent a surge to Iraq which lowered troop casualties and violence immediately. We had practially won and completed our mission and now it's all going to be for nothing...neither Afghanistan or Iraq attacked us but they are grounds terrorists run to after hurting our interests. They must be cleaned up and turning a blind eye to them gets you another attack.
He is exactly like Bush! This isn't a war against a government, its a war against a strategic tactic! We didn't declare either of these wars! They are both unconstitutional! We have completely changed warfare, do you think we went into WW2 with an exit strategy? Do you think we were concerned with what kind of gov germany would establish? They target us because we occupy their land! We have been involved in Iraq since the 60's! Can you imagine if Iraq did this to us? These wars can't be won!
What are you talking about? Iraq was almost finished....we laid a damn solid groundwork for a functioning Democracy that they can enjoy because of your troops! The idea isn't to attack a country per se, the idea is to use force and working with the governments of these lands to improve conditions which will enable them to assist over the longterm. These wars weren't supposed to be won with a promise of resources or land...it was increasingly improve the world's chance at fighting back.
We are not even a democracy, so you think its within the federal governments constitutional powers to spread "democracy" through force? Afghanistan has had fragmented tribal governments since the spread of Islam! The constitution is very clear, if we want a war congress must declare it-not the president or the UN! We should have targeted 9-11 planners using Marque and Reprisal! The founding fathers were clear, ally with no one and practice diplomacy with all! You can't wage war against a tactic!
@VictoryCough The point is to not spread democracy through strength. The point is to achieve PEACE through strength. As someone typing these messages, do you not agree that when we are born and raised that we all instictivly prefer freedom? There is no point in tearing through territories searching for one of two folks because next in line are their followers to take their place. This is why allowing freedom and liberty to take form in these regions will mean we aren't in it alone anymore.
Preposterous! Thats like when in Vietnam the US Govt said we had to burn villages in order to save them! We have a duty as a nation to personally reject communism! Should we ignore the founders advice of avoiding nation building at all costs? There is no point in using a constitutional function (Marque&Reprisal) to find those responsible for 9-11? We destroy liberty here to spread peace across the world? OBL has said 9-11 was b/c of Clintons Iraq policy and bases on holy land!
@VictoryCough No there is no point in twisting the founding fathers' words to support taking violent measures to go after one or two people time after time. My question to you is, where does that end? Wait so OBL justifies to you what caused 9/11 and you use it in a debate with a fellow American? So, apparently OBL's idea of world acomplishment and order is acceptable in your world while you proclaim that achieving stronger alliances against him as "we destroy liberty here."
The CIA has said Operation Desert Fox caused blowback in the form of terrorism! You ignore our own intelligence agency? Can you imagine if China put a ship in the Gulf of Mexico? We wouldn't put up with! The founders wrote at length about the dangers of "entangling alliances" and nation building, so to say I am twisting is beyond naive! You simply ignore Constitution! Congress has to declare war! We are broke, we can't afford to police the world. Bush had it right in 2000!
Terrorism has existed since Islam was formed. It's how it advances (extreme Islam). America does not have the power to miraculously give birth to terrorists. If those responsible for the "blowback" were peaceful Christians before Operation Desert Fox, then okay....but these folks always had an extreme ideology which should have been dealt with from every nation starting with the countries they hide in to us who have the resources to back our allies up.
You could make the argument christians have always had an extreme view, the crusades lasted for 200 years! If you think the millions of muslims in the middle east are violent people by nature you are ignoring logic and empirical evidence! Read "Dying to Win" by R. Pape. Do you think these people drop out of universities in moderate arab nations and join militant groups in 3rd world nations because they hate freedom and their religion commands them to?
@VictoryCough No you really couldn't make the argument of Christianity. The crusades started because of Islam trying to take over the Holy Land. You have to go back before that even. The reason Christianity drew in such large numbers of converts was because among the top three: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam...Christianity was the most liberal religion because all it requires is recognizing that Christ paid our debt for us whereas with Judaism or Islam, there are specific rules to follow...
@VictoryCough (continued) so here we have a content Europe under the heavy influence of Christianity just as we have that same capability today. Only to have that contentment interuppted by some radical Muslims who wanted to take over the Holy Land to gain more power essentially over the world. So yes, the Christians whooped some massive Muslim ass in that war. Aren't you glad they did seeings as we aren't living under Sharia Law today?
@VictoryCough BTW, granting OBL some kind of stateman's status for what he did on 9/11 AND buying his explanation of such while denouncing the efforts of your own troops shows that your just as reckless with how you use your God-given benefit of the doubt as Obama is about using our military to do anything.
So, by the way, seeings as you're dismissing both Afghanistan and Iraq - clearly we agree that not one specific country attacked us - what was your suggestion? Show them how brave and intolerant or terrorism we were by doing nothing about it at all? I'm so curious.
Why don't you drop the idea that Republicans love war? For the most part, we've been in the middle of what one would classify as an occupation. Again, I am more interested in your ideas to STOP terrorism from spreading. Since Islam's inception in 622AD, these folks have proven time and time again through violence, beheadings, attempting to gain control of the Holy Land in 1100AD, countless bombings and 9/11, they strive to attain power. How do you get countries over there to help out?
If you want to stop terrorism, then you stop it the same way you stop illegal immigration, you stop subsidizing it! Takeaway the incentive! Israel can't even enter into a peace treaty without US approval! If we completely stayed out of this nightmare, Israel and moderate arab nations would step up! So we borrow from China to spread peace in the middle east? Even borrowing can't cover our overseas budget so we inflate the currency? REpublicans are elected to stop wars and interventionism!
@VictoryCough Again, you're moving into a blame-America mentality. That is nonsensical pontification. First, China needs US for economic development. Where do you think the keyboard you're typing on was made, or the peace-signed bandana you were was sewn? We haven't subsidized terrorism. Our efforts to assist Israel and Pakistan or India, etc. are there to insure that something like 9/11 doesn't happe again. The difference is I do not buy OBL's excuse and you do.
You lack an understanding in foreign policy. I don't blame the American people, I blame neo-cons/liberals for perverting our foreign policy. For 40 years China has been saving, we have been inflating and borrowing since the 20's. We have a house of cards economy and the sooner it topples the better. We produce next to nothing and consume all. These wars wouldn't be possible without inflation and debt!
Again I voted for Bush in 2000 because of his foreign policy
@VictoryCough I don't lack an understanding on foreign policy, it's simply a disagreement between us. Yes, our deficit is outrageous to China, so we'd probably agree on those conservative principles. However; China is dependent on Americans who buy the products they make. In reality, it's a circle of the same dollars because in the name of free market, we make them rich. We simply cannot become an isolationist country in a world full of airplanes and the internet. We have to be realistic.
Both Iraq and Afghanistan were in the middle of a class civil war when the American military got involved.. just an fyi also terrorists operate in Phillipines and other regions including the US. Should we wage war on ourselves?
@CitizenViews That's kind of a silly response. Of course we cannot wage war within the United States. But by achieving peace through strength, we have harder vetting processes for things like enlisting in the military like Malik Hasan or toughening up immigration laws which Obama has not done yet either. He is so busy right now trying to gain control over our privacy, our wealth, and our liberty to care about that stuff.
Yes, facts can be annoying and silly sometimes. I understand your concerns about wanting to make military a "necessary evil" but i live in a world that does not have borders and has no need for a standing military. There is no such thing as peace through violence.
@CitizenViews If you live in a world where there is no need for a standing military, I am telling you that you can have that luxury to say such things solely BECAUSE of peace through strength and the United States military. You didn't use "facts" - you used an absurd statement suggesting we go to war with ourselves....that's crazy and nonsensical and utterly dangerous especially if you're allowed to walk into a voting booth.
@snorp73 Nice knee jerk reaction but apparently you don't agree with Jefferson and what he warned Americans about standing armies and banks. I will be voting right next to you in November and will probably continue to vote the opposite of the flag wavers and co-patriots, as i always have. I still think your ok though because you are an American.
@CitizenViews Jefferson didn't warn Americans....and just what is your description of a "standing army?" You're free right now to say anything you want BECAUSE of a "standing army." Without them, we'd be having this debate in German right now.
They were doing fine when we weren't there and they will do fine when we aren't there anymore. Now let's talk about closing those 130 bases worldwide operated at taxpayers expense. America cannot afford to run an empire for these people.
Can you imagine being a troop member and going without your family for Thanksgiving waiting for this man to make a decision to hear him say "this is a sufficient preview to last until after Thanksgiving!"
