Gus G deff doesnt suck and hes deffinitely just as good if not better than Zach. You shouldnt judge a guitarist just by if he looks like a tough ass, thats gay you should judge by their playing. And if you cant play guitar or dont know the notes than shut the hell up! Theyre both AMAZING but Gus G is waaay better technically than Zakk, thats why he doesnt make mistakes. Thats way more important than looking cool. Zakk uses all those wah wah effects just to cover his fucking slop.

Jake and Randy were close to nobodies when they came into the band. I saw Ozzy at Ozzfest 2007, and Zakk was definitely the best part of the show (Ozzy was his usual fried self). At the same time, I've seen Firewind, and Gus G can shred face with the best of them. One thing Gus brought is the capability and willingness to play these songs. ( Ultimate Sin era). He didnt bring an issue that Ozzy should only play this song and this song. This is the best mix of Ozzy songs in a long time. True Ozzy has his " classic albums" but every album/era has some GREAT songs on them. He didnt write any of the songs on the album but lets see what Ozzy/Gus team can bring to the table next album.
He's an OK guitarist but Ozzy should have gone for someone with a personality. Someone COMPLETLEY different to make everyone watch him. For fuck's sake Sharon, we love him but get him some clothes that hide that gut!
Don't get me wrong, the kid's got skill...but he has no MOXIE. Randy was irreplaceable. Jake wrote great compositions(better than Zakk and his repetitive argpeggios and pinch harmonics). And Zakk had stage presence. Gus brings NOTHING to the table. If it's any consolation...at least he's better than Brad Gillis.

@Avianca1000 Actually the Blackstar amp is a very good amp for his style, besides hes been using them for a very long time so its the brand he trust and knows.
@Avianca1000 Blackstars sound great with the right pickups. He's using active pickups, which don't really have the same character as passives. Passives are warmer and more organic. He sounds pretty damn good, but he'd sound even better through those amps with something like a DiMarzio Super Distortion or Super 3 in the bridge and a PAF or PAF Pro in the neck.
Gus G. is the stablest guitarist Ozzy never had. I think he is a worth substitute of Randy and Zack. You can hear him by listening to his greek band Firewind!

Gus is extremely good but he doesn't have that one-in-a-million signature uniqueness that all his predecessors did. Randy, Zakk, even Jake E to some extent, you could hear one bar of one riff or lead and instantly know it was them. Gus is fairly standard. I hope Gus can stretch out and find his own voice, he's got the chops and presence already.

@CALJR8760 I was not intending to bash Gus. I'm older and have been listening to Ozzy for many years. I saw Zakk play with Ozzy when I was young and love his style and stage presence. I have no doubt that Gus will become a superstar, I am not saying anything about his true abilities as I really don't know. I just like Zakk's presence and style always have and probably always will. I wish nothing but success for them both.

Gus is a great guitarist but just so boring. He doesnt have any stage presence. Zakks gritty and wild (no pun intended) sound made this band so much better. This is like an elevator music version of Oz. So glad Sabbath is back together. Also,Gus didnt replace Zakk cuz hes better, hes just sober.

@jtollison Actually, Shot in the Dark was written by a guy named Steve Overland, from the band Wildlife. Phil Soussan was in Wildlife, and I think he co-wrote the song with Steve Overland. Phil Soussan brought the song to Ozzys band.

Ieven heard Zakk say what a monster Joe is saying he thought it was Randy's ghost playing and in his opinion he only know three guys worthy himself, Joe, and Dimebag R.I.P
After all the things Ozzy has done to himself over the years, be it drugs or alcohol, I'm amazed that he's still alive and rockin' the vocals. I saw him in St. Louis, January of this year. The whole band was fantastic. Personally, I love Zakk's work with Ozzy and BLS, but Gus has made the band so much better..

Ozzy doesn't hire shitty musicians, but I'd much rather see Zakk then whoever this guy is. I'm sure Oz will make him famous though and that's why he jumped at the gig. Zakk seems like a much more "humble" man as well. I get the impression Gus thinks his shit don't stink.

Um, Zakk isn't ego driven, but there is no way in hell he is humble. And if you watch any interview with Gus you would know he's pretty humble. And a nobody? Just because Firewind aren't big in America don't mean they're not big. Over in Europe they're huge and one of the most famous Power Metal bands. Do research first dude

@CALJR8760 I was not intending to bash Gus. I'm older and have been listening to Ozzy for many years. I saw Zakk play with Ozzy when I was young and love his style and stage presence. I have no doubt that Gus will become a superstar, I am not saying anything about his true abilities as I really don't know. I just like Zakk's presence and style always have and probably always will. I wish nothing but success for them both.

@MrCanzara Gus G is already a superstar, the guy has had almost 10 (or 10 exactly, not really sure) years playing with a prog/metal band named Firewind. To say the least Gus G is the most technical guitarrist Ozzy has ever had, maybe not as much stage presence as RR and Zakk but he sure as hell plays one mean lead guitar.

@MrCanzara Gus G studies and dedicated his life to music, your point is? When you study music you are obligated to study classical musical, just check out other metal guitarrist like Chris Broderick. Look I'm not saying RR is a dumb guitar monkey I'm just saying in a matter of studying music Gus G made it to the top, its a shame RR's talent couldnt develop completely but what can you do about. Gus G to date is my favorite guitarrist bringing a power metal tone to the game.

@MrCanzara NOt really ranting were just saying that Gus G is a very good musician and that he deserves a chance like any other guy before you start bashing on him. I just gave my opinion as another musician (I also play guitar) and I like the tone Gus G uses and his style I'm not basing my opinion on what everyone else says I just know what I talk about, but if you think RR is the best Ozzy has to offer than more power to you.

Those of us who have been listening to Ozzy for 40 years as I have are allowed to reminisce, be dissapointed, and then enjoy Ozzy making another guitar superstar known.
This is the first time Ozzy's done this since the internet craze, you people are turning me off of him. I LOVE Ozzy. He kept me alive through some hard times. Gus will get his chance, but not cause you say so.

Gus is a great guitarist but just so boring. He doesnt have any stage presence. Zakks gritty and wild (no pun intended) sound made this band so much better. This is like an elevator music version of Oz. So glad Sabbath is back together. Also,Gus didnt replace Zakk cuz hes better, hes just sober.

I love ozzy and I see all the comments about what if Randy were still playing for him, well as a guitarist I will say I love Randy and he is an influence and inspiration to us all, but if he were still around we wouldn't be listening to shot in the dark which was written by Jake E Lee...or how about others like devil's daughter or miracle man...which was Zakk at his hungriest and being new to the game! So, yes we love Randy, but let's not forget the artist who wrote the song we are commenting on

@jtollison Actually, Shot in the Dark was written by a guy named Steve Overland, from the band Wildlife. Phil Soussan was in Wildlife, and I think he co-wrote the song with Steve Overland. Phil Soussan brought the song to Ozzys band.

After all the things Ozzy has done to himself over the years, be it drugs or alcohol, I'm amazed that he's still alive and rockin' the vocals. I saw him in St. Louis, January of this year. The whole band was fantastic. Personally, I love Zakk's work with Ozzy and BLS, but Gus has made the band so much better..
Ozzy Osbourne: one of the best vocalists ever and one of the few artists responsible for my musical inspiration.

@ChrisRinaldiMusic You're totally right. I'm the biggest Zakk Wylde fan you'll ever talk to. I think he matured past the point where he was contributing anything to the Ozzy stuff. I love Zakk but I'm glad Ozzy got Gus G. It was a shot in the arm his sound needed. Plus Zakk can concentrate totally on the awesome BLS stuff and it'll be that much better. Nothing will ever take away from the amazing work Ozzy and Zakk did together. That'll live on forever.
