Yes your right it needs a harness.....Shit i can't remember where we hung the harness from when we would go out riding and run full out... This is not abuse this is training that these horses go through and my horses would runs their asses off in the pasture i guess we should have had harness on them as well or just kept them locked up so they couldn't hurt them self
@levi72001 He needs a harness because if he falls, the ground will keep moving and he could get seriously hurt. If a horse is running in the pasture and it falls, the ground wasn't moving and it never will. The horse in this video; if it falls, it would be laying on its side most likely and be caught on the treadmill, and dragged. Its worse than what would happen if a human fell off a treadmill, he's going somewhere around 30-40 mph.
@gaatjeniksaan its not abuse a exersize he is an ex racehorse and if thay starved him and then made him run than that is abuse you can tell it the horses is tierd he will have his halter pulling him and his head whold be up hi

If you were to put any average horse on there like that, yes that would be cruel. But he has worked up to it. I ride all the time, this is very beneficial for horses. That horse is lucky he's in such great shape! He is HEALTHY! And he has a content facial expression and demeanor.
This is very unsafe without a saftey harness. If the horse falls, it will be hung by the halter and skid on the treadmill. Very irresponsible of the owner.
@Maniamanea i agree there is the hook for it they are just to lazy to hook the horse to it i really hope a horse doesn't fall cause of their stupidity
Terribly bad for the horse...what a shame. If the horse wants to slow down, it can't, as it will be instantly hurt or even killed!
