Glad to see the next generation recognizes that the rock and austin got the strong parts of their act from the one and only roddy piper. He is a legend here in the northwest, oregon, washington and british columbia where he was still a face even when he was hated by the rest of the country..

@JonasDygd That's why Piper was so over back then--he didn't back down from anyone--not Hogan, not even Andre here, just stood in their face and kept screaming insults. The crowd at first wanted to see him taken down a notch, but eventually began to respect him. Finally, the crowd started chanting his name at WM2 against Mr T, and Vince realized he had to turn him face

in his verry prime he was 7 feet 1/2 inches. and that was in like 1970 but he shrinked becouse off illness and hes head and body couldn´t stop crowing so here he is probobly 6´10 inches tall

@GLazz85 His peak was just before he died, since he continiued to grow his entire live due to his disease. He was said to be measured to 6'10 after his death so he was shorter years before that he was never close to any 7'2. i give him 6'9 tops since you will be taller when you being measured when lying down

@xismxist After a while only his head and I think hands and feet grew. He did shrink a little before his death because of his back surgery I believe. Look at him in Japan he is definately a lot taller. I would say he is a hair under the size of Shaq. I really doubt he was only 6'10 because thats not all that uncommon. I mean really we will never know because we cant measure him.

Andre "The Giant" ,,, nobody and I mean nobody could have beaten that man in his prime,, unless he agreed to the outcome of the match. You just have to realize the size of that man a legit 7'5" 500+ pounds, I saw him one time in Fresno i was in the front row,, he walked by and I was just in awe of this mountain of a man,, If Andre doesn't want to lose he doesen't end of story

I totally agree with you. IMO, Piper is the best heel of all time and Flair would be a close second, followed by the old HBK, and the NWO Hollywood Hulk Hogan. You know, I love the line, "where...do...you...come...from...? Piper should use that line on Batista..He talks worse than Andre..

when hogan was the american patriot piper was pinned by him as well. as for JYD results there are old wrestling magaznines that you can find online, pro wrestling results, obseessed with wrestling come to mind where i recall the dog getting some wins over him. plus there were tag matches and 6 man tags where andre, the dog, snuka, etc, beat rowdys team....piper a loss is a loss is a loss LOL

This bring back memories. Though one of my first matches I remember was a tag team match Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant vs King Kong Bundy and Big John Stud on SNME. I don't quite remember anyone being able to slam Andre until Hogan did in Wrestle Mania 3.

Allegedly undefeated up until 1987 at Wrestlemania III. But he was beated prior to that, it was just harder to prove because its not like we had Internet back then. Andre lost to El Canek, Antonio Inoki in 1986, and Akira Maeda. But in terms of his WWF run, he was undefeated at the time.
