  • On October 26, Barry suffered an heart attack and also injured his neck when falling from said heart attack. Let us all wish Barry and the Windham/Rotunda family the best and hope and pray he recovers fully.

  • God Bless you Barry

  • he made the right decision. The only good thing the WWF did for him, was when he was a tag team... As a solo wrestler... they had no good story lines

  • i rember barry wrestling in the bahamas many years ago we became friends

  • The Stalker! lol!

  • Barry seems annoyed at this interview!

  • Handsome man Really good looking

  • no he didnt that was dan spivey with rotundo in the early 80s

  • @MrHckenyon I don't remember him being with Dan Spivey but he did for a fact tag team with Mike Rotundo. Their theme song in the WWF was "Real American". That song would soon be used by Hulk Hogan and replaced the "Eye of the Tiger"

  • @dbach0215 Nope I was wrong.... totally forgot the US express. I was reffering to spivey and rotundo

  • @dbach0215 Nope I was wrong.... totally forgot the US express. I was referring to spivey and rotundo.

  • @MrHckenyon sorry man, I posted that other comment before I saw this.... obviously you beat me to the punch.

  • @MrHckenyon Spivey didnt tag with Rotundo until AFTER Windham left the WWF in 1985- the original US EXPRESS was Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo-

  • Barry jumped more than once as he and Mike Rotundo went in the early 80's and he went back again in the late 80's as the Widowmaker.

  • this is from msg

  • barrys one of my favs no doubt... well said..nwa wcw no gimmmicks or divas..just wrestling...! vince killed wrestling..its crap now.. i miss the old days and will have to settle for thse old clips..im addicted who else cant stop watching these?

  • I thought the man couldn't put words together until I watched this lil' piece of footage. I've been following pro wrestling for like 25 years and Barry was in my overall top 10-15 but I swear the man never cut promos. He's actually well-spoken. I wonder why he had no verbal presence from what I remember...

  • This is NOT from 1987 much less any of the 80's. I saw Barry wrestle with FCW in live events all over Florida in 1986 and believe me, he was much thinner in the photos I have.

  • This must of taken place before the mid 90s, because Barry actually did go back and forth between the WWF and NWA/WCW several times

  • @BrandonTheBeast83 yes he did he went to wwf like 4 different times

  • Awesome. One of my favorite wrestlers growing up.

  • No this interview was conducted by the George Michael Sports Machine in March of 1987 right before the Jim Crockett Sr. Cup backstage at the Baltimore Arena. Jim Cornette, The Road Warriors and Ric Flair were all interviewed at the same event.

  • @staggermj

Totally correct. I went to the Crockett Cup 87 Live , it was a blast! SUPERPOWERS

  • Hogan vs Windhan would've been great

  • this interview was from mid december '96 to early '97. Barry had returned to NWA/JCP during the Bunkhouse Stampede in december of '96 and this interview fit that timelive. He quit working for the wwf about a year before this interview and he had been working foe Championship wrestling from florida till dusty gave him a call

  • no he was in wwf at that time as the stalker/blackjack windham. i think you meant to say 86, 87.

  • he was making $200 a week in mid atlantic then his first week in the WWF he made $6000. But after a while he could not handle the constant travel.

  • yes barry was in the wwf before the 4 horsemen. he was in a tag team with mike rotundo who later went on to become IRS. i think they were called the u.s express. barry left the wwf because he hated the hectic schedule, so he went back to the more easy going nwa/wcw.

  • @ant8tfive true

  • Barry should have won the title a few times. A great wrestler from either side of the fence! Titles didnt change hands much back then otherwise he'd have been a multiple TV/US/TAG/WORLD Champ. Of course I cant forget the Western States Heritage Title...ok maybe i can...

  • Damn right,he should have been World Champion at three times or more.WCW had a little something going on with the new version of The NWA in the mid 90's and made Barry the World Champion, but The NWA didn't mean much any more.

  • you are absolutely right

  • I personally think he should have stayed with Black Jack Mulligan Jr.

  • Mike went back to work a few days later but Barry didn't. Vince McMahon tried substituting Danny Spivey in Barry's place but it didn't work out. Like I already said, Barry didn't return to the WWF after that until 1989 as "The Widow Maker," another short-lived gimmick.

Sorry for all the posts but couldn't get it all in one place with a limited character count in this comment section.

  • didn't he have another gimmick, short lived - the stalker? or am i just imagining things?

  • Actually he did in the WWF back in 89 I believe. He was called The Widowmaker. The gimmick did not last that long though.

  • @thunder0925 yeah he was the widowmaker for short time he was suppose to wrestle at the survivor series didn't show. he ended up making a appearance at Capitol Combat

  • I think this is 91

  • wrong, its 1987

  • it couldnt be 87 because Luger joined the horsemen in 87 and Windham rivaled with the Horsemen in 87 and then joined them in 88, after Windhams first turn with the horsemen he went to the WWE. That is when flair was the worlds champ with Hiro Matsuda.

  • This is from April 1987. As others have already pointed out, this interview was done at the 1987 Crockett Cup tag team tournament.

  • I agree with you, this was filmed in the late 80s. If nothing else you can tell by that "mullet" hair cut that Barry has. That's not an insult to Barry BTW, that hairstyle was popular back then.

  • So your saying that Barry was in the WWF before the horsemen? The horsemen was official in 86 and when he was in the WWF he was the widower (with the black glove). Somebody please clarify this!

  • Have you tried researching this info yourself? But yes, Barry was in the WWF prior to 1986, somewhere around 1984-1985 with his brother-in-law Mike Rotundo. They tag-teamed as the "U.S. Express" and won the WWF tag team championship. They were pretty popular an their theme song was "Born in the USA" by Bruce Springsteen.

  • Ah okay, i remember now. The did they rival against the Iron Sheik and Nikoli Volkolf?

  • Yes, they were rivals against the Shiek and Volkoff and eventually lost the belts to them.

  • Also if you get a chance to watch Barry's shoot interview it's very good. He talks about the incident when he and Mike were in the WWF and worked for 96 days straight with no time off. Mike flipped out and flew back home to Florida leaving Barry alone in Baltimore where they were wrestling one night. Barry got uptight over Mike leaving, and left also to go back to Florida.

  • Also Barry didn't go back to the WWF until 1989 as "The Widowmaker." This stint didn't last long and he left again. He didn't go back until 1996 as "The Stalker" and then he tag-teamed with JBL as "The new Blackjacks." That was Barry's last job as a wrestler for the WWF.

  • I would say he had another job as a wrestler in the then WWF in early 1997 as part of Cornettes short lived NWA storyline, which I actually enjoyed.

  • Yep he was part of the Blackjacks with JBL when he was know as Blackjack Bradshaw

  • Barry sounded gay saying RIC Flair will be mine and the championship will be mine!

  • you got fater since jax beach in the 70s your buddy lynn from the pool

p.s. we was 9 years old

  • LOL, he works for the WWE now.

  • Barry is very funny in this video. Especially his comments on not needing a bird or a snake or an alligagtor. LOL. Great classic clip.

  • No,but he would wind up needing a swiss army knife and some camo later on lol

  • Oh don't remind me of Barry's stalker gimmick. LOL. I hated that one. I think a lot of people would probably agree with that, even Barry himself. LOL.

  • lol cute vid

  • wow! did'nt know berry and mike were brother in-laws that's sweet!!!

  • This is rare...kind of a shoot interview in 1987.

  • This is from Crockett Cup 1987

  • Whatever date the first day of the first Crocket Cup, is the date of this interview.

  • Hey! Rivercorrie's grandmother cost Lex Luger the NWA World title!

  • I guess she wasn't there for the 89 Bash, where Flair and Funk both bled like stuck pigs lol

  • I'm down with Barry Windham with what he said; six years later, he would be the NWA World champion.

  • Great Man! 5*

  • this was done on April 10, 1987, the first night of the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Cup in Baltimore, Maryland at the Baltimore Civic center, I was 15 years old and back stage when the were recording this.

  • Awesome :D But why were you backstage??

  • my grandmother was friends with the chairman of the maryland state athletic commisioner and my cousin is a female wrestler that was there

  • I believe this is late 1987.

  • Barry your the BEST, no questions asked!
