  • What was the point of busting down the pylons at the beginning, if he wasn't planning on expanding? Why not just go for quicker nydus instead of banelings?

  • I love how there is a Victoria Secret commercial on a Starcraft channel... but great job though

  • have you ever noticed that even progamers back then when sc2 was released were not as good as the regular diamond players of today?

    holy cow

  • @Xcoopa93 i'd say the what? tens of thousands of sc2 players that play the game 24/7 now gain much more experience than the adunno few hundred people who could play the alpha before the game was released.

The larger the community of the concept the faster it progresses. shouldn't surprise anyone, but ye it's cool

  • o forgot to read comments :P

  • wut a giblit?

  • did u just call me a Jiblit?

  • @StrengThroughUnity Giblet. He calls his fans this :D

  • i was in tears when i saw the hero ling die D,:

  • Fuuuuu fuckin nydus

  • if someone ever does this to me i do the following:

    1. Track them down

    2. Tie them up

    3. Brutally bash them and intergate them into why they were being such a dick

    4. Force them to gg

    5. Start the new game!

  • the person i just played against rage quit. and raged some more after starting the game with some bm. (i was the protoss)

  • I missed being called Giblet. Thank you so much <3

  • great game psy, lovely insight

  • GREAT now we have government advertisements on youtube... thx mfers!

  • I would have made hydra and shoot his buildings from the highground. After The main was taken out.

  • You shoulda just went mass mutas. protoss can't even get three stalkers to over power you at that point where he saturates his natural. /protoss player.

  • You wanted to say giblets really bad huh? and u just couldnt do it.

  • baneling bust, nydus worm. Then expand while ur lings are in hes base

  • is it better to lay creep and just use a spine to kill the pylon contain or baneling?

  • @Pootie88 It depends on want to do after it is dealt with. If you want to play a macro game i would go with spine crawler as i don't use banelings vs protoss often. But if you are going to nydus into the opponents base get banelings, easiest way to kill workers. Also note hydras on the cliff by his expansion was another strong option as he had most his buildings there as well as quite a few workers in range, less risky i say as well but not always as good a reward.

  • AHAHAH. The end was hilarious. Nice one Psy

  • "and that drone will be extractor for the rest of his life and he will thank you" haha psy you are the best commentator. naturally funny and not annoyingly forcing funny things. keep it up

  • Hahhaha the hero ling!! xD Fantastic! Great game and nice way to break the contain

  • whaaaat we need to get fatter

  • Haven't heard you say "giblets" for a long time before this video.

  • anotehr starcraft II comdfsfl PFFFRRRRRRRRT PFRRRRRRRRRRRRRT

  • What is that @ 3:41 with the linking of your banelings ??

  • LMAO at the end i cant stop laughing at that, he sounds so retarded he just cant get the words out

  • whats up with the tree to the right at the beginning?

  • The one thing I would of done differently, is instead of getting blings into his base to take out the probes, i would of made 2-5 hydras, put em on the high ground and just took out as much as i could until i could break down the front gate with lings and hydras.

  • Your opponent rage quit as well, nice.

  • enrice iglesia is a good fuck for sure

  • Yay, Nydus play! So fun to watch. :D

  • shoulda gone all-out and taken your expansion where his original nexus had stood... would have been hilarious and fitting revenge for the lame wall-in

  • What about using the 'wall in' as a defensive wall while teching to Hive, getting Ventral Sacs, and using them for a drop in his main AND to drop a few drones outside the contain for a (double) expand.

Also, in this game Psy had a Drone scout on the outside that could have been used for a hidden expansion while teching to Mutas in the main.

In either case, it's very that a Forge Fast Expanding Protoss would scout such expansion(s) or would be able to do anything about it even if they did.

  • that is indeed qazzi, he was pretty pro in wc3 but it seems his skill in SC2 is not up to par with his pro wc3 skills, he was on same wc3 team as KiWiKaKi.

  • I think maybe not go for the bust before the nydus worm and you may have caught the toss a bit off guard, he threw up more cannons as soon as he saw the banelings at his expo, you couldve got some more economic damage on his expo. really nice tho man, love seeing a zerg thats not scared of playing 1 base

  • the ending was great :D

  • Hero ling is credit to team!

  • can someone post the link for the 2v2 match he mentions at the end that Husky commentates?

  • The life of a zergling... could have great potential? one very BIG kill!

  • If you were going straight for nydus in response why did you bother busting down the cannon wall? Wouldn't it have been a better choice to leave it up giving him that false sense of security that he would'nt see a push out from you any time soon. Then you could have used those units you used to bust down the wall on completly killing him off on your first nydus push.

  • Dude, you are great. I am a very noob but I guess I will learn a lot with your videos.

    Thanks a lot

    Greets from Germany.

  • qazzi, if it's really him, was an old wc3 semi pro

  • If you go nydus, you really don't need to break the contain until you want to expand. That contain also helps against counterattack, since P would have to destroy his own pylon to get in to your base, giving Z to get their units back to defend.

  • The end was awesome.

  • If I get cannon-contained I:

-Know I'm 110% safe early so I skimp on early lings and no roaches

-Double gas and start teching to Mutalisks

-Get 40 drones (oversaturation) so I can split 20/20 on each base once I break the contain and get my natural up, then once mutas are up pump 10 drones on each base for full saturation

-Get 2 queens (in case of cheeseray rush and to spread creep)

-Use creep to plant down one spine crawler to range the pylons and break the contain

    Then normal muta/speedling

  • @Aixrotciv I ran out of characters:

Also I be very bold with my overlords knowing his stalkers will be heavily delayed, I scout and make sure I know what he's doing. If he's skimping on cannons or zealots on his front I can sometimes break in with mass speedlings, if he's skimping on cannons on his main I can muta harass to perfection.

  • does gg mean "good game"?

  • @AliUnderFire yes

  • @AliUnderFire Yup.

  • I always rage quit

  • You're my hero

  • hero ling ftw

  • Wow. Heroling. I think you just created a new meme. Push it dude.... it will work. You need to snip that and post it everywhere, seriously.. the "whoooaaaaaaaaa" really pushed it over the edge :)

  • Psy is the best commentator

    --

husky and HD are entertaining and both great, but Psy is the best.

  • You're my hero.

  • I dealt with a cannon rush about an 1 or 2 hours ago and it was fucking annoying. My rank is Silver League 50. I could be on top of that league cuz I play standard and everyone rushes so it's hard to win sometimes. Anyways, I played some guy and annoyed the fuck out of me with cannons and zealots, and I won on one base with blink stalkers. Wish I can record it but I don't got a good camera or anything.

  • imo, just keep pouring banelings in directly attacking his structures would've whittled him down fast. banelings do a ton of dmg vs buildings.

  • You can hotkey all your queens and just hit v -> left-click on minimap to spawn larva. The closest queen will go on his way to spawn the larva then.

The crosshair stays gray if the queen is out of nrg or if there are currently extra larva being spawned

  • @TheKauhu whoa rly? i never new that this will help me so much and im already mid diamond...cant wait lol =)

  • i lol'd so hard at the bloopers at the end. great vid

  • I faced this and didn't know what to do :(.. it was on a map with a destructible rocks backdoor so I was able to get out eventually with some roaches.. but by then he had enough stalkers to kill off my army. Thanks for posting this ^_^

  • It seems to me that a few hydras on the high ground when he had no units would have worked well. but hey, what do I know, he's freaking psy!

  • @AnObeseAardvark that would get him out of the cannon lock, but it wouldn't even up the economy.

  • nice vid. I've actually encountered this quite alot on the ladder recently, and what i usually do is get roach/ling and a nydus worm. U dont really need to break the contain with the banelings before getting nydus. just rush to nydus and use a sunken to destroy the contain. works pretty well, but then again banelings are alot of fun so i might begin using this as well.

  • 12:36 That's what happens when you have diarrhea since Easters

  • good creep spread this game

  • whenever im blocked into my base with a cannon rush, i just start crying and swearing at my monitor

  • LOL Psy, so funny, all your vids bring the lolz. ''Startcraft 2 bbulbua... PFFFFFSSST PFFFFSSST!'

  • Hey mate, love your videos, just subscribed, that live cast was absolutely amazing, well done.

Just a quick question, do you hotkey your queens so that when you double tap the button (to get back to your queens/hatcheries) you are forced to think about infesting your hatcheries before you click on your hatchery to build other units?

  • @kemikal421 I'm curious about this as well - or hotkey placement in general. I used to only hotkey my production buildings, but I've since started hotkeying my queens because I find that I often forget to inject larva if I don't (leaving me a huge surplus and a unit deficit). I need to start hotkeying my armies, too, because they're difficult to control with sweeping mouse gestures and ctrl + clicks.

  • @KurayamiShikaku Yeah, I gave it a shot after I posted this, it seemed to work except I'm not sure it's worth having to double tap a hotkey then click on your hatchery to build units, I also tend to change waypoints a great deal, and it just seemed like to much of an annoyance to force yourself to remember to infest your hatcheries, you'd probably benefit more from just learning to keep tabs on your macro. Psy doesn't seem to have any of his hatcheries hot keyed only queens? Maybe I missed them?

  • @kemikal421 He groups both of his hatcheries on 4, then his two queens for inject on 5 and 6.

  • @kemikal421 he groups his two hatcheries on 4, and his queens+hatch on 5 and 6

  • HERO LING!

  • I sometimes use overload speed and pickup to get out

  • Actually, I let him fast expand and I ultra fast expand myself. I usually get 2 expos and try to saturate them as much as I can while still making sure I have enough units to keep him at bay. Usually I can scare them by getting my creep towards his base and getting some crawlers to try and block him. It doesn't work, obviously, but they usually do wait longer, at least until they get thermal lance, or whatever, for the colossus. By then, I'm all teched up and ready to go.

  • personaly i use my ultimate plain against that (made it my self) cry, bitch, and leave!

  • Hey Gibblets PsyStarcraft here with another starcraft 2 commentary because that's what this channel is for...

  • Lol at the end xD

  • haha hail the hero ling

  • So Hero-ling for Psy, and Pylo for Husky.

  • @JaconWes yeah

  • @chanegun

    Late reply bro.

  • Giblets? Naughty Psy.

  • Maybe you could skip the baneling bust,, just nydus

  • Qazzi used to be a pretty good WC3 player. Not professional or anything, but I do remember him from WC3 ladder.

  • Personally, although it's probably the fastest option, I'm not a fan of baneling busting the contain just because of the cost involved. Creeping up w/ a spine seems best, but one base nydus can do so much damage. Just imagine if you had those 5 extra banes for the nydus or the nydus up that much sooner.

    gj though

  • hahaha yeah the end bloops = awesome

  • I like it. The only thing I do different in this situation is I ignore his contain, and when Im ready to expand I simply nydus to the islands. This way you can ignore the contain entirely until much later in the game, leaving 5 more banelings for your nydus into his base, while your island expos are also safer.

  • As always great game and great cast! Hero ling will be remembered !

  • What the best way to defend this if i FE? Is fast expo even viable anymore?

  • Surprised Protoss didn't leave as soon as his main got wiped. Seems like Toss that try to contain Zerg with cannons would have learned to scout for Nydus.

  • fucking NOOBS

  • Hero ling!

  • psy your my hero :D

  • darkcraft tloo?

  • those cannons were like whaatt, we need to get fatter

    lol

  • Bestest hero ling action ever.

  • Qazzi was/is a great American player who was noted for his insane ladder records on the US ladder in Warcraft 3. He used to go like minimal losses and RAKE in wins. Thanks for posting this I learned a lot even if I don't play Zerg fully.

  • Hero ling seems like a wanna be pylo. But anyway you played great I always love games with Nydus Worms and you made some great use of it.

  • The bloopers were classic.

  • boring

  • @Dalleman86 Obvious troll obvious.

  • you rock

  • Spine crawler is the most cost efficient method. Getting hydras and killing his stuff from the high ground of his main would be really effective as well. If you're even more devious, getting a worm on the ledge by his expo and putting hydras up there. Or an Overlord pooping out creep on the highground in his main and bringing out a drone for a spine crawler. Anyways gg.

  • Thanks Psy, I had this happen to me on Blistering Sands but the Toss was smart enough to put Pylons and cannons on his main and my entrance! This gave me a new idea for next time, I have been running into a lot of Toss that all they do is cannon or zealot rush me.

  • the end = ROFL!

  • omg

    Pylo vs heroling?!!?

  • 'hero ling' was a worthy strain of zergling. the swarm will indeed remember, and reproduce, its zeal for destruction.

  • i was wandering if that was you, you sounded kinda weird and i wasnt sure :D. Meaning...that 2v2

  • fucking noob cheeses then doesnt even gg

  • Some awesome farting going on at the end.

Check out Saharadrac's last commentary for easily the greatest Nydus play to date from a zerg player

The first video ID is: Ywriz4dGBak

  • i'm not a giblet :(

  • hahahaha i gotta love that ending :DD

  • you forgot opponent profile preview!! :P

  • Woah i had to comment this twice, amazing game sense to go for the nydus, i never woulda done that, but thats so freakin awesome for a protoss fast expand

    protoss fast expand = nydus

protoss has no army with the fast expand man! they rely on cannons and positioned zealots to defend. i had a game like this last night without the contain part and managed to outmacro him coz he was a nublet, but thanks so muchf or the strat psy!!!

protoss fast expand = fast nydus FTW xD

  • YES GIBLET POWER

  • Hey psy I'm a toss player and I did a forge contain and the zerg went straight for nydus I had just gotten my cybercore when the nydus popped, if you never break the contain the toss will most likely be caught off guard.

  • lol im a jiblet!!! love the zerg you the perfect sub

  • I always laugh at your tags ;)

  • yessss nydussss!

  • i have heard that 60ish fps is the max that a person can take in although from personal experience, fluctuations above that amount (from 200 to 80) are very observable

  • @jnaggs I don't think the human eye can tell the difference between 25fps and 60fps.

  • @kendo512 you are assuming we are all human

  • Our brain can seperate about 24 pictures per second so everything above that won't make a difference for the viewer. You couldn't tell if you're watching a video with 50 or 500000 fps, unless somebody told you.

  • @Leidenspfad

i was wondering about this and I recall playing a game called "counterstrike"

in which you can monitor your fps, I usually have 100fps so it seems smooth,

but once my computer was about to crash and it had like 25-30 fps, i could immediately tell that there was a difference, if what you are saying is true, how am I able to tell the difference?

and playing with 60 max fps or 100 fps also gives you a different in game feeling.

  • @keeperkai999 it's not exactly 24 fps. It's somewhere between 20 and 30. The difference between 60 and 100 fps is a placebo effect, caused by your brain telling yourself, that there's an actual gameplay difference, OR the game itself reacts slower to incoming commands from your mouse and keyboard. That however has nothing to do with your eyes/brain, so your hands might feel different, while your eyes still see a fluently acting screen.

  • @Leidenspfad Actually, our eyes and brain don't work in "frames" like our monitors and television sets do. While more than 30 FPS will appear smooth, you can tell the different between 30and 60 DPS, and some newer 3D-ready sets that go up to 120 FPS are extremely smooth, and it is perceivable.

  • ALL HAIL THE HERO LING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Psy - glhf

    ** crickets..... **..

  • RAGE QUITTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • I play protoss myself and when someone tries that with me ill just build cannons myself so he cant build any further and then ignore the cannons, grab some expansions and destroy his main. Ez

  • Love the bloopers at the end, keep them up :p

  • Actually had this happen to me yesterday. I was lucky enough to spot it soon though and my drone could keep the probe busy long enough so that I could get lings out before his cannon could go up. Just went into F/E and then muta/ling, but it seems like the nydus play worked much better

  • great game and some great creativity with that play

    good work man

  • Good game. Loved the gag reel at the end!!

  • I wish this guy was Terran, really educational stuff

  • no more psycological warfare?

  • When i run into it i end up Starting with a F/E and go fast mutas. Harrassing him until i end up teching to brood lords. (there is a bit more involved, but im keeping it REALLY simple)

  • Perhaps the 5 banelings could have done more damage going through the nydus. Send in those lings plus the banelings to his base, run the lings around the far edge of his base (outside vision) toward his ramp and try to use them to coral the probes into the banelings coming from the other side.

  • Honestly I would have skipped the nydus worm altogether. If you look at his wall when you had banelings the pylon on the left would have been very easy to bust open and run lings into the main. Saves a lot of time and money for a Spire, or a faster Hydralisk den.

  • Also, since he used the pylons to block you in your base, he also locked himself out. He had no idea what you were doing, so you could have gone one base muta, nydus like you did, or both :P Just had this happen to me actually. I won.

  • PsY, You could also run your lings into his mineral line and just hold position. Just a little tidbit of information that might help :3

  • epic phail with husky bro lol he was holding you back =P

  • haha, love the blooper reel at the end

  • Would you consider this toss play cheese? Or just a strategy?

  • Could you not also poop creep on your ramp??

  • @generalee72 Actually that might be a good idea. But i think if they have any sort of observation that might not work.

  • @generalee72 Overlords can't poop until you tech to lair tech, which might be a bit extreme just to counter one toss strategy for sure

  • @nwehlert ahh yes, thanks. Haven't been able to play yet so I don't know all the details yet.

  • wouldnt another good idea would be to put a nydus worm on the cliff above the expansion where u overlord was and send in hydras because he had like no detection up there?

  • DAMN YOU FILTHY ZERGS AND YOUR NYDUS CRUSH!

Nice counter to the cheesy cannon contain though! My mate showed a replay where he did the same thing just last night (banelings) against a Terran bunker/barracks cheese. He saw it coming, pretended not to and made banelings in hiding, then POW ran in two lings as meat shields with banelings in tow! Followed through with a bust on his wall-in, then lings to the SCVs.

  • Impressive Nydus play. You deserve a cookie.

  • Nothing but respect for hero ling.

  • epic ending :P

  • use 40fps if ure computer can't keep the framerate with fraps. 30fps is pretty slow when playing games on pc compared to 50fps.

  • @ZomgZomg007 did you even listen to what he said? he can do 50 fps fine, but it makes the file size too large.

  • @ZomgZomg007

Umm... this is for video recording purposes.

Movies (Like Cinema) are recorded at 24... so 30 is actually pretty overkill already.

  • Sen had a video where he beat out that same style of wall-off with a baneling bust. It was basically the same tactic that you pulled. I would have used the spine-crawler on the cliff tactic, cuz I'm a pussy. I saw DiMaga beat it by going straight to nydus, not even busting out of his base, with roaches.

I'm curious though, with the heavy econ build that the protoss player did, do you think he should have been able to make more gateway units by sacrificing only a little econ?

  • I love how emotional he gets about all this, like pylo
