@hyrrokinfamily but if it is managed by the computer and will automatically follow the flight plan route, then shouldnt there be only 3 dashes and no ball?
@richygambs321 I think here, the pilot pre-selected the heading but the computer was still following the flight plan (with the dot) and at 3:56, he pulls the heading selector, the computer no longer follows the flight plan but the heading of 220 (which is already the heading followed by the computer).

one question why the pilots enter the flight plane in the mcdu?i mean the tower says headings usw.when the tower directs the plane why the pilots enter a flightplan in the mcdu?
The tower only assigns headings for the approach mainly. They enter an FP into the MCDU for the cruise, economical reasons, to have accurate fuel predictions, etc.
@gaspeli Because with Frankfurt, you have what you call transitions. So it leads the pilot down to the IAF for the ILS Approach. And the APPROACH controller directs aircraft, not the Tower controller. In most cases.
AT 3:56, why is there a ball to right of the heading selector? Nver saw that before.
