While it is true that natural disasters due to climate change has resulted on some limitations on food produced, and that over the next few decades, global warming will cause radical changes in usable crop land. The main thing needed to replenish land is fertilizer. That requires more affordable oil, amongst other things.
Teach in schools small scale farming in square foot gardens, hydroponics and aquaponics too instead of sex ed, that will keep them busy after school and they might help feed themselves and other family members.
We can start by eliminating the JOKE of ethanol in our gas. It is corrosive on engines, ends up using MORE energy through processing, and results in America BURNING a third of its corn. I never imagined how crooked the environmentalist agenda could be, but this needs to end now.
Have Biofuels really kicked off in a big way? I didnt know they had, but she says that huge amounts of land are being used to cultivate biofuels.. Can anyone help me on this??? Wikipedia says 4 billion has been invested in biofuel worldwide, thats not much a tall!!!
00:25 .. how about telling the truth.. chemtrails killing the soils of the world, radioactivity.. pollution.. depleted uranium munitions.. paper mills.. mining.. and to end.. the profit margin theory.. commodities are being traded worldwide by the dollar which is worth nothing.. therefore.. prices will go up.. however wall street keeps raking it in.. the petro game is played exactly the same way.
@cagedtigersteve We need a more efficient system, population isn't too much of a problem since you can pile a bunch of people on a small surface area by building vertically.
We need to overthrow the corprations, current governments, and bring back a time where selish and greedy people are hanged for taking advantage of their positions!
It's usually, "They have too many children." It's a border-line red herring. Problem is, one Westerner, ON AVERAGE, must have & consumes 5-10 TIMES the average of a third world person. But such consumables don't come from Mars or Venus ... So, it means the vast majority of all consumables produced on Earth, both naturally (e.g., oil) & by man (e.g., food stuffs), are used & wasted by Westerners, not by third world people. Get rid off such imbalance & less [poor] people would go to bed hungry.
@HenryDavidT Even if you were to lower per capita consumption it would still be unsustainable if the population is too high. Why should I have to lower my standards of living and live an uncomfortable life just so Jose can have another 6 kids?
another problem is agrofuels and that " GREEN " trend about using food for DETERGENTS , FUEL, CLOTHING ! here in america the rich clean their furniture with cleaners made with fruits !!!! CRAZY !
My neighbor has seven children from newborn to 18 yrs. old. He gets over $1,500 a month in food stamps. He's not about to go to work because he knows he can't possibly feed his fat indulged children on a normal salary. This cycle will continue with his children. We will continue to work and pay taxes so he can sit home, rent paid by government, medical insurance paid by government, food bought and paid by governmentt. Oh hell, let the depopulation begin with his fertile ass!
@2late4me2care ...Depopulation.. Only if you are first.. well done.. helping your brother man.. It's the society that the fat rich have put up around you..and your dream that you can be like them.. thats the problem.. and you thinking it is reality.. their restrictions and rules.. to guide you down their walk ways.. to play their game.. THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX.. times maybe hard for you.. but it wasn't your neighbor's doing..
@johnnyd101 .... the American Government are 50/50 partners with monsanto ... there are trade wars between

@redrik09 suckered in?? being pro organic and anti gmo is anti-science. the truth is very simply you believe left wing paranoia or believe peer review scientific literature . i am all for people growing want.Organic people can grow their veg all they want i'm just going to disagree with them. your point about monsanto seems irrelevant unless you can show that organic is better

I dont get it. Why is they say that the food price is going up, b'cos of bio fuel.... I don't any person in my city that uses bio fuel. Is in USA bio fuel used for something? ;/ We here drive still on regular gas ;/ World seems so contradictory.
I'm not YET 100% on board with the notion of a Resource-Based Economy (RBE) as presented by The Venus Project (TVP) and marketed by The Zeitgeist Movement (TZM), but I am 100000% sure that it is better than the monetary system that the world is enslaved to today. If the world could transition to an RBE quickly enough, the inevitable world-wide catastrophe that awaits could be averted. Learn more:
** The world is overpopulated, people have to stop having large amounts of children, eg China, India, and African countrys, there is no need for people to have 4-20 children, its stupid, at this rate in 2100 the worlds population will be 40 Billion, then see how fast all the food runs out and the crime skyrocket.
Simple fact, STOP MASS REPRODUCING!!!! YOU DONT NEED 15 KIDS TO BE HAPPY!!
Well. did someone really think that we (industrialized nation) would really live this standard forever? We have it so good because other people have it bad. We need to change this. We dont need all this. We need to go back and lower our standards.
@zizikelizike you sound like an idiot, its always america,i see over weight people in the uk and other countries aswell...im a big guy,and happy,i pay my bills no one else does,so for you to say, teach americans how to eat is stupid.teach the rich how to not hoard there money, and put it into making vacant lots into place to farm veggies and other fruits and grains, sounds better then blaming americans, dumbass.stop being bias with your dumbass teach americans how to eat comment.i h8 ppl like u!
No. The main problem is big agribuisnesses in neoliberal countries doing as little as they can, to exploit stupid subsides and tax credits, created by stupid politicians trying to control the market, weither its buying up farms, donating a few bucks to a charity, or buying a small steel mill they'll never even see. Then they leverage that monopoly, to force shitty seeds on the developing world, and appeal to local goverments to keep competition low. That and supply ofcourse.
@BorderlineOffensive Maybe its because they can't find a respectable job, ever think of that? If you think the poor put you out more than the rich when they spend trillions on the military you are retarded.
no explanation as to how the last financial crash caused debt, thus increasing the cost of food. Al jazeera seems to be working for some very wealthy merchants... another funny thing...: usually, aljazeeras youtube comentary is closed.. how come for this video it is open?..
The USA is bucking to start WW3 you can bet when it breaks out the world population will be affected and the global population will never reach 9T. The very nations that can't support their population are the ones that refuse to use birth control. I wish we could stop the USSA from starting the next global conflict we know there are other secret world leaders controling the leaders of USSA we must return to the USA.
Any idiot can predict this. Mass population growth = increase in demand; limited land/desertification/exhaustion = stationary and ever decreasing supply means that supply is pushed down and jump in price. This is simple economics. Guess Malthus was right after all. Shame
@SuperiorApostate There's food to feed every human in the world. It's the way we produce food, it's the way bankers manage our economies, it's the way we obtain energy.
@SuperiorApostate Our whole economic system is based on a) consumption and b) infinite growth. If we stop fucking and birthing babies we will have economic problems. We need a whole new economic system where we can live decent lives without growth.
I know i might sound like an asshole, but im actually being a realist here...the reason we are running out of food is because there are too many people and....therefor nature must balance this out, which means people have to die, thats just life, we CANT feed everyone, so people will have to die, of course no one wants people to die, but thats just how it is
@littledude4eva Wrong. The reason is that huge areas are being used for production of meat instead of corn and so on. Feeding the entire earth is not such a big problem as it is made out to be.
The rich nations of the earth, especielly USA, India and China pollute the air with CO2 causing global warming, and do alot of bullshit, the poor have to pay for that... Fuck capitalism...
It's mostly due to over-population. The BBC did a very extensive documentary called something like "How many people can the earth sustain?" and they figured out that without fossil fuels it is about 1 billion people. With fossil fuels, it is around 8 billion. Obviously we are going to see the end of fossil fuels in our lifetimes. With that said, I am terrified for the future of our species. I am appalled that more isn't being done to address the cancer-like human over-population problem.
@YourBrainOnReligion birth limit is needed 2 per pair. But if shit gets serious 1 per pair. if its 1 per pair then the parents die out at some point so the birth rate will decrease but if its 2 per pair then you have to count the people who cant and dont want kids and population will decrease slowly. And we can use Wind,Solar,Water (current), and geothermal power. We dont need natural gases when we have all this.. Watch /watch?v=EewGMBOB4Gg it will open your eyes a lot. Trust me.
@upunkpunk Zeitgeist: Moving Forward better addresses this issue, actually.
But let's be real upunk.. sadly, just because we have a plausible idea on the table doesn't mean we can breathe a sigh of relief. The biggest problem with the Zeitgeist Movement is it's lack of support. Most people don't even know what it is, let alone what they're proposing. Then, of course, you have the (at least) 50% of American population who would knee-jerk-reject ALL of their ideas because it's anti-capitalism :\
@odin422 How the hell could overpopulation be a myth? Are you suggesting that cancer doesn't kill humans because it overpopulates their body? Are you suggesting that the analogy of humans being the cancer cells to the earth is somehow inaccurate? If you reject these ideas so voraciously, you had better be able to explain why if you expect to be viewed as anything more than a raving lunatic.
@rahulindofighter think they meant equivalent pay..... if we were in the same conditions in the west it would cost us $10 a kilo {their spending 80% of their money on food)
or having less kids...for some countries (india) shit, they breed like rabbits. establish the 1-2 child law instead of 7 kids. then your country wont starve.

HenryDavidT 8 months ago
@HenryDavidT Even if you were to lower per capita consumption it would still be unsustainable if the population is too high. Why should I have to lower my standards of living and live an uncomfortable life just so Jose can have another 6 kids?

He's not about to go to work because he knows he can't possibly feed his fat indulged children on a normal salary. This cycle will continue with his children. We will continue to work and pay taxes so he can sit home, rent paid by government, medical insurance paid by government, food bought and paid by governmentt. If the world could transition to an RBE quickly enough, the inevitable world-wide catastrophe that awaits could be averted. Learn more:

BigBaldAndBadass 8 months ago
@lumpfish99

I know i might sound like an asshole, but im actually being a realist here...the reason we are running out of food is because there are too many people and....therefor nature must balance this out, which means people have to die, thats just life, we CANT feed everyone, so people will have to die, of course no one wants people to die, but thats just how it is

YourBrainOnReligion 8 months ago
@YourBrainOnReligion birth limit is needed 2 per pair. But if shit gets serious 1 per pair. if its 1 per pair then the parents die out at some point so the birth rate will decrease but if its 2 per pair then you have to count the people who cant and dont want kids and population will decrease slowly. And we can use Wind,Solar,Water (current), and geothermal power. We dont need natural gases when we have all this.. Watch /watch?v=EewGMBOB4Gg it will open your eyes a lot. Trust me.
upunkpunk 8 months ago
@upunkpunk Zeitgeist: Moving Forward better addresses this issue, actually.
But let's be real upunk.. sadly, just because we have a plausible idea on the table doesn't mean we can breathe a sigh of relief. The biggest problem with the Zeitgeist Movement is it's lack of support. Most people don't even know what it is, let alone what they're proposing. Then, of course, you have the (at least) 50% of American population who would knee-jerk-reject ALL of their ideas because it's anti-capitalism :\
