You should check out PermaGrit website....i think....They have tungsten carbide grit coated hacksaw blades. That'll tear through bolts easier than standard blades. Sometimes tungsten carbide grit coated stuff can be found right off the shelf in hardware stores. Not real expensive, is definitely worth it !!!!
Hi, Tanks for your mrssage i don't speak english so much but in the video "Reinstalando una placa DDB" we are extracting a "bad bolt" who was put in the canyon of Huxatla in Jalisco, México.
This bolt was in the course of the water "We didn't put up the bolt" and we are put the same anchor (Plate) in other secction of the canyon who is more functional and safety...
I see several things wrong with this video. 1. that puller is not the best idea. effective yes, but is gouged three dents in the rock. A tunning fork puller would have been better IMHO.
2. I agree with Psytrance2020, that wasthe wrong type of bolt, the wedge style is dagerous in soft rock.
3. when drilling the hole one blowing out is not good. that holeshould have been brushed out and blowen out several times before installing that bolt. Or the dust can cause a weak intstall.
That "wedge anchor" type of bolt is the wrong type of bolt for soft rock. It is dangerous in soft rock.
A better bolt is the Powers "Power-Bolt" (or "5-piece") in stainless steel, or the Fixe "Triplex", which are sleeve-anchor type bolts. A glue-in bolt is another option for soft rock.
muito bom o video!
