  • Matilda was probably one of the best valets in wrestling in the 80's.

  • Horrible quality video. Mediocre match, but awesome Ventura commentary!

  • Davey Boy takes really short steps when he runs.

  • I know thats Vince and Jesse on the mic, but who's the third guy on commentary? Sounds like Sammartino.

  • @koolaid28 It was Bruno Sammartino.

  • R.I.P Davey Boy Smith

  • I like how they say that Jim Neidhart's from Nevada, Bret's from Calgary, and Davey Boy's from...England.

  • yayaya

  • Im really sick of hearing people compare Hogan/Flair to Bret Hart. Both of them played great characters in interviews in the 80's but in the ring they dont hold water to Bret. Davey Boy, Dynamite, and Bret Are waaayyyy more talented in the ring than Hogan and Flair. The only person I like with a big mouth and one move is Piper. Hogan and Flair are lame.

  • @superfrickensexy

    well said...I agree

  • Hart is an all-time great and a true hall of famer. As is Flair...They just don't like each other and you're either in Hart's camp, as I am - or Flair's, depending on who you prefer, yourself... I personally rank Hart over Flair - many agree with me and many, also, do not, Flair himself most predominantly - but he's the one who's so insecure he feels the need to bash Hart. Other greats rank up there with these 2 - Michaels, Dynamite, Owen, Benoit, Malenko, Angle all come to mind, among others.

  • wow step brother against brother

  • @tobyobrie He told the same 3 stories over and over again. Regardless of his ability, to me he was a boring wrestler.

  • read the hitman. bret is the best there was and the best there ever will be. he took all the hits in every match he was ever in. he took all the shit from assholes like you. he was the best wrestler in stampede wrestling in WWF and WCW. the best there is the best there was and the best that will ever be

  • @canadiancountryboy94 MMMmmm there's quite a few guys who are better than Bret. In fact Dynamite Kid and even Owen are some of them.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh yeah owen who brke stone cold steve austins neck and dynamite who when he bladed his cousin davey boy smith cut him so severely davey almost bled to death. bret NEVER hurt an aponent to the extent that he couldnt work the next day. bret hart is the best there is thebest there was the best there ever will be

  • @canadiancountryboy94 It's wrestling not ballet. A lot of guys like working stiff. I mean come on Bret couldn't handle Flair's chops and in Japan where you are allowed to go all out Bret had a piss poor match with Misawa and kept doing a side headlock. Why? Cause Bret Hart never once showed me any type of fantastic technicality in his matches. He repeated spots, a lot of his endings were the same and he bassically had 5 moves he used constantly.

  • @TheForgottenFlesh ok u say bret repeated spots what about ur buddy flair? all he had in his arsnal was chops and a figure 4 leg lock (which bret hart does WAY better) and yeah guys like working stiff but who wants to work with them? every1 loved working with bret cuz he always thot about the other guy first

  • @canadiancountryboy94 You are basing this in WWF...watch Flair in All Japan or old NWA, he could work with anyone.

A lot of people want to work with them, because that's the way they like working.

If working softly means you are a good wrestler than I suppose The Honkey Tonk man was the greatest ever.

  • @canadiancountryboy94 Let's break the facts down. Bret Hart was the best their ever was? On what base does this statement rest upon?

  • @TheForgottenFlesh

Best there was. Well Lou Thesz has him beat in both length of career and in ring performance.

Best there is. He can't wrestle anymore so that's false.

Best there ever will be. Since Kurt Angle, Dean Malenko, Bryan Danielson, Millano Collection At all have left Bret in the dust in terms of technicality there will probably be a lot more guys to follow.

  • young Bret

  • dynamite kid looks like a jerk. just look at his facial expressions sometimes

  • @1985HotRod He was a jerk so yeah

  • The Hart Foundation RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • So they fought here, Summerslam 92 and In Your house (1995 a think). Summerslam 92 goers down as one of the greatest of all time for me. Amazing.

  • Hey Jesse, the word is "displeasure."

  • LMFAO @Jess Ventura telling Mcmahon he's paid to be an announcer and if he's not careful he'll be looking for a job!

  • the commentertores said, that the match was in berlin, germany?! it is right, if it its very cool, because i love wrestling and im also from Germany<3 xD.. please answer me...^^

  • I love listening to Bruno's insightful color comments...

  • the entrance with the bullDOG is cute!!!

  • i wish the hart foundation didnt attack davey at the end

  • funny how Ventura said McMahon will be looking for a job because of his bias announcing..guess back then it was kayfabe that vince wasn't the owner

  • yeah it was...they kind of acted like gorilla monsoone owned it...i awlays thought that when i was little because they would say the president of the wwf gorilla monsoone

  • Gorilla Monsoon owned 1/6 of the WWF and controlled bookings in several territories..

  • oh really? i didnt know he actually owned any of it

  • Vince bought Marella's shares in the company in exchange for a guarantee of lifetime employment. As he had been to his father, Marella became a close confidant of Vince.

  • This is TheHartFoundation vs. TheBritishBulldogs you wanker.

  • bret hart is da best wrestler of all time man he knows how u wrestle too too well dat early outfit aint working tho lol but true say this match is as old as me

  • Davey did a lot of things I don't agree with and went through a really dark period in his life. People make mistakes all the time. But the people who knew him maintain he was still a good person despite his flaws (even Diana to this day). I wouldnt know though - I never met him. Neither did you. He was a hell of a wrestler though.

  • Dynamite was a legend

  • the best there is

    the best there was

the best there ever will be

    ¡¡¡¡bret "the hitman" hart!!!!

  • You're an idiot. Davey Boy Smith was great, and if anything, under-rated. He was always my favorite British Bulldog.

  • You are an idiot. And you are wrong. And you are an idiot (feel I should repeat that because you are an idiot).

  • well read Brets book you mongliod. then come back when your not marking out like Marky Mcmarkenson and his all Mark band.

  • Hmmmm - funny Brets book should say that Bret carried Davey. Not at all biased then? And I'm supposed to be Marky Mcmarkenson???

I have no problem with Bret - I think he was great. But he certainley didnt carry Bulldog. And to call him useless (your words) makes you out to be, well, a mongloid!

Pleanty of other wrestlers' books bash Bret - should we believe all of those too? Or should we have our own opinions? Mongloid!

  • well your assuming its a baised opinion. Davey lived with Bret from the time he was 15 years old, Bret would know. Look, quit marking out ok. Davey was fine in the ring, Bret carried his ass, you might have to accept it, or live in markville, population...you. READ BRETS BOOK ON THE WEMBLEY MATCH. NOW MARK.

  • Oh, and Bret never bashed Davey., He carried him at wembley and in your house. Davey has no problem admitting that. Did you know your hero was a coke headed morphine abuser? i bet you did..yret you cannot accept bret carried his ass. hmmmm thats marking out pretty bad.

  • Ha - well I beg to differ. Bret didn't carry Davey in any of the matches they had. Davey never admitted that. I'm not saying Davey carried Bret either, but to say the success of the matches was solely down to Bret is crap. Especially the IYH match when Davey, as the hell, was on the offensive most of the match so had to run with it.

  • And you say Davey lived with Bret from 15? Well he debuted on ITV sports (in the UK) as a wrestler in England at 16 - before he went to Canada and trained with Stu. So your maths are a little out there. Never mind, why let facts get in the way of a good, poinless bashing eh?

  • And I've read Brets book - doesnt mean I take it as scripture. As I said, pleatny of other wrestlers books bash Bret (I mean really lay into him) - doesnt make it true.

I'm well aware of what drugs Davey was into - and you've only named a few. He had a load of problems, not just drug related. Still doesnt make him useless - which is what you said. He was as good as anyone in the ring. And you never knew him personally so how can you comment outside?

  • Oh, thats right - because you've read a book! Way to go Tom Cruise!

    Pfft.

Nice use of a Simpsons joke with the 'Markville, population...you' comment though. Way to be witty all on your own.

  • When you say other wrestlers really lay it into Bret, who?

Well obviously Hogan, Flair, Michaels, and maybe Lawler, but who else? I think the boys had more respect for Bret than the wrestlers mentioned above.

  • Bret gives as good as he gets, and those guys you mentioned are probably the biggest ego-maniacs in wrestling, maybe with the exception of Lawler.

  • im not bashing davey, im giving a critical opinion that just so happens to be agsint everything you thought you knew. Davey was useless and Bret carried him. Only a mark would say somthing like a small infantile child. "thats not true your bashing" thats like when they told you santa was fake, you marked out then and yoru marking out now. you dont have Brets book...yet if anything bad is said about davey its bashing...hmmmm your a real mark, no fooling.

  • oh ur bot bashing davey yet you brand him useless no sure your not davey may have been naive but not useless he was great in the ring even even after he bulked up like hell in the 90's he always worked his ass off in the ring that was one time that bret had to give davey a kick up the backside at wembley but he didnt carry davey in any other matches

  • yeah, thats right mark, davey was kicking his ass wasnt he? ahahahahahahaha your a supermark now. I bet you didnt know that during Bret vs Stone cold at mania 13 that Bret used a razor blade hidden in his mouth and that he cut stone cold either.mark out.

  • Oh god you are a fool! I never said he kicked Brets ass. I said, as a heel, he was on the offensive and so ran with a lot of the match. As tends to happen in wrestling. I'm well aware of how wrestlers cut themselves to draw the blood for effect. Razor blades have been used practically for as long as the sport itself.

  • ignore that idiot hes talking about summerslam 92 where davey was all blown up and shit i mean u gotta admit davey was in poor conditioning for that match bret didnt say he carried davey in all their matches just the first 20 mins at wembley and that wasnt because of daveys talent but because of his physical conditioning

  • your officialy the mark of the year, i think yoru just doing it for your own amusment, of course that would be giving you credit. however if your truly this marked out on the mark of marks....you are mark of the year. hahahahahahaha enjoy it nugget.

  • And you ARE bashing. A critical opinion is not: he was useless. Thats a broad, sweeping statment. And its crap too. Davey has had loads of great matches, did Bret carry him in all of those?

And, also, I never said Bret bashed Davey, I said you did. Which you did - and you did it with all the grace of a 3 year old. Way to go!

  • watch the match again, you can tell pretty easily if someone is carrying a match, and at Summerslam Bret was not. Also you don't even know what a mark is.

  • davey was drunk and out of shape because of weeks of cocaine abuse. Bret carried his ass. davey had no problem admitting. now iknow you like bulldog so you cant handle the fact that maybe he is not much of a professional, hey i like him too and bret carried his drunken ass. thats how it is so just deal with it moron. its why i am ashamed of being a wrestling fan, wrestlings fans have brains the size of goat turds. go flush your head down the toilet or somthing you sociopath.

  • and still had a great match even if he was in bad shape. Its not me having a small brain its you being stubborn and taking everything you read as the truth. Lol @ calling me a sociopath from one comment. Learn what it is first, I'm at University and wouldn't describe myself as an aggressive person, so your hardly able to judge from 20 words. The only one being aggressive and having a disregard or an opinion is you. In Bret's mind he carried alot of people, as great as he was.

  • Ok, be a University student. Doubt you pull down a year what my non educated ass pulls down. Be that as it may...peace. Lets just enjoy the fact that Bret carried Davey.

  • Lol your a struggling director, of course I pull down more then you in a year. Lets enjoy the fact your wrong.

  • Struggling director is my side hobby. I kept my day job and I just know I make more than you. University student or University educated means you sling fries and havew 30 grand in the hole you cant payback. If we have to, I will video my year to date earnings for the last ten years. Its more money than you will make in a lifetime. Thats just the facts. Now go get drunk like davey boy.

  • Whatever helps you sleep at night poppet.

  • Why don't you try and refrain from being any more ignorant than you already are. And if you don't like being a wrestling fan than stop watching it, not difficult.

  • @082076 where do u know this from man? about davey boy? im not having a dig or anything

  • Just read Brets book. He talks about Davey in depth. Its a great book.

  • Considering Bret taught Davey how to carry a match in the first place I doubt he let Davey carry such an important match, especially since Bret's a well known ring general and DBS was, well... not.

  • @OpheliaImmortal I realise that this is an old comment but no, Bret didn't teach Davey anything. Davey was wrestling in the UK before he ever met Bret and then became a student of Stu Hart. At the same time as Bret.

  • @Guest1001 Bret said in his book he taught him a lot

  • wow vince had bulldog win. or is this in wcw?

  • DAVEY BOY SMITH WON!!!

  • Cool. I've never seen this match before. This is the type of stuff WWE should be releasing on DVD

  • Good stuff.

  • Its always good to see these two guys compete especially before both men became big stars.
