Hey Topochico, nice beer tasting. I'm from Belgium and the Singles you refer to are everywhere ... they are just the normal beers. The Doubles have a double quantity of malt, and the Trippels have more than twice the normal quantity of malt in them, the primary fermentation is followed by a secondary fermentation at 8 to 10 °C lasting a fortnight. Then the beer is filtered and bottled, being re-fermented in the bottle at 21°C for three weeks. Schol, and keep on exploring the wonders of beer ^^
i got completely obliterated one night on this stuff. i know its a beer to enjoy and savour, but i was just pounding her back like water. its high quality. it has a thick spicy taste to it with some good kick. i love it. one of the better beers out there. better than all the mainstream cr@p
Since I guess we have a beer culture here. I don't drink that much beer and don't wanne be chauvinistic. But even if you don't like beer. Try a Hoegaarden with Ice in it and a lemon piece on a summerday. I am sure it would be very popular in USA.
I'm partial to St. Bernardus Tripel. Though, Unibroue's Trois Pistoles, 2004/2006 and 15/16 Special Editions are amazing.
U.S.A has the best selection of beers in the world. Not only do we have all the great beers from England, Belgium and Germany, but we also have a fantasic selection of Microbrews.
Oh yeah, what is up with those English vintage ales? Thomas Hardys vintage ale tastes like Pancake syrup.
yes i thought i'd comment on this beer, i have become a beer snob.. i (wallet permitting) will only drink La Fin Du Monde... i got a hint of apricot among other things, it is very bubbly but damn good nonetheless. it saves trips to the toilet and to the frig'. why drink a lesser beer to save money?
la fin du monde: the end of the world! I like the name it seems an appropriate beer for the times in which we live. Nice review.
